Welcome to the Showdown Series Elimination Game

 

 

The object of this is to pick a winner from the different Showdown Series in Red Dead Online

 

 

The Rules:

● You add one point (+1) to your favorite Showdown Series and subtract two points (-2) which you can split (-1) (-1) for your least favorite(s).

● It isn't allowed to add and subtract from the same Showdown Series in one vote.

● You're only responsible for changing the score to reflect your vote, not the person before you.

● You can vote once per day (every 24 hours). You can do it after 21 hours minimum, but if it becomes a habit it will not be allowed.

● When we are down to the last three, you need to vote after 24 hours. Voting earlier than 24 hours is no longer an option at this point.

● Copy and paste the list from the last person before you. This helps out everyone to see what the scores are and we can prevent disinformation from spreading through the game.

● Do not use multiple accounts, this is not allowed and action will be taken if you are found to be doing this.

● Only vote in these games if you have been a forum member for two weeks at least. If the person above you hasn't been a member for at least two weeks, then you should ignore their vote.

● If the person before you votes wrong (not forgetting to write the correct scores, but doesn't vote as the first rule implies), you shall ignore that vote.

● If you are new to this game do as the regulars do. If you disagree; they are right, and you are wrong. Accept that or leave this thread.

● Please show what you voted for in your post, as a example:

(+1) Hostile Territory. Team based, so you don't have so many people spawning behind you. A little more tactical, I like it. Would like more maps, versions of it on a larger scale.

 

(-2) Make It Count. Not really keen. Also, Fortnite.

 

Great to have one of these for Red Dead by the way. I've had them on my mind actually.

I've played them, though obviously not as much as others who'll be voting. The only mode I have any dislike for, other than the universal poor spawning, is Make It Count, not my bag, not at all.

 

Name Your Weapon has been the one I've gotten some enjoyment out of.

Tall Trees in general I just don't like lol. It's like - there's nowhere to have any kind of tactical gameplay, no cover or anything. Just people spawning, running, having someone spawn behind them. Most people I've heard don't like it either.

E: I played Team Shootout St. Denis yesterday, well I played most of these because R* don't think players would enjoy choosing which they play, mostly just to get a better feel for this game.

 

It's actually quite fun. I'm sh*t at it, even with Slow and Steady I only got around 20 kills, but my aversion for PvP aside, it's fun. 

 

I can't help but feel that team modes, if you could go in with a group of friends, all stay on the same team and only play team modes, would be more fun than the scenario we currently have.

20 kills isn't bad, especially if you don't do much PvP. There's no telling how things will go sometimes too - you could do everything perfect, but get some guys idling, or you're outnumbered etc.

Thanks, I felt ok about it until I saw the numbers the top guys were posting lol. Me and the guys who rack up 50/60/70+ kills may as well be playing different games.

 

I'm cool with that though, I don't go into PvP modes expecting to win. Now I can use special ammo even 20 kills getting mostly headshots is a decent XP boost. If we could choose which mode we wanted to play I'd play a lot more just for the change of pace.

 

For now I just try my luck, if it's something I like I'll play it, of not I quit to free roam.

Team based games are hands down the best. They allow a front to the war that u can’t have in ffa modes. I really hope the like and dislike is expressing how the players feel and they take that into account.

I only really played in the first few days to get the trophies for series, but most wanted was a spawnkill mess, and I always prefer team based modes. Even if they are set up with more than two teams...

Make it count is something different,so i kinda like it. 

Nyw could really use more guns/variety. It could get better but atm its not really good imo.

Shootout. Pretty basic,pretty lame.

Hostile territory is by far the best,teams and objectives sounds good. Maps are too small and unbalanced though.

Most wanted is okay,spawns also often suck but imo its the mode where it matters the least,my 2nd fav mode.

They all can get a lot better...

I hope i did it the right way. I played a lot, both regular and large showdowns.

1. Make It Count - not my cup of tea, after those few initial tries i leave the lobby every time it shows up,

2. Name your Weapon - a mode i disliked from the start, map in Tall Trees which is by far the worst map currenty doesn't help. Now i also leave the lobby when it comes up.

3. Team Shootout - been a huge fan of team based modes since RDR 1. This mode makes me starve for Hold Your Own and Grab the Bag which i played milion times in RDR 1. I want them, badly.

4. Hostile Territory - promising, but needs fixing, unbalanced and we all know why

5. Most Wanted - promising, but needs fixing. Example: you're 1st and you get killed with 1 minute till the end. You get spawned 100 km away from the action and by the time you find someone, you're 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

 

Conclusion: Gang Matches can be good if Rockstar listens to the community. Fixing spawn points, smaller maps, option to choose a mode we want, more town oriented modes and freakin' Holy Grail: Hold Your Own and Grab the Bag. In Mexico's finest locations if possible; Chuparosa and Tesoro Azul.

 

Update: Regular showdown series makes you run even more to find a living soul.
