I was thinking, the trains really should follow a schedule, so you can get one easier. Then I got to thinking, well, maybe they do? Surely if there's a certain point they start, and they go at a consistent speed - it must be possible to check the times it arrives at each station?

Could be useful for daily objectives involving trains. Shame people always kill the driver before you've even found it though.

Sry it's too dark but that in the middle is a schedule from Saint Denis.

I seriously doubt it is valid though

So disappointed by this game. It looks so cool n I really want to get into it but there’s just nothing to do!

I feel exactly the same; I thought about loading it up earlier but then I asked myself: what is there to do? I didn't have an answer, so I took a pass and played something else.

I really want to like it as well, but I feel very disconnected from it and there is literally a night and day difference between it and SP; like how the hell could they make such a great SP but completely botch the online segment and keep us waiting for months and months and still miss the target with literally just about everything they decide to add or change? The whole forced job rotation thing really pisses me off too - like for real, none of us want to sit through sh*t jobs in order to play the decent ones - it's like they are purposely doing everything to drive away their most loyal consumers and don't even get me started on how they nerfed the prices of what certain things sell for like fish, pelts, etc  and wtf kind of recipe pamphlet would cost over $500, $700, or $1000 in the 19th century?! Ffs, I'm getting irritated just thinking about how broken and insulting the economy in this game is and I'm still angry about how they haven't included poker and nor mentioned anything about it!

Sorry, I got carried away and maybe this is more B&M kinda material, but disappointment is an understatement - I am livid just thinking about it!

Managed to get into an almost fully working solo session over the weekend. I stayed in the session for almost 5 hours, the game was an absolute joy.

Animal spawns we're on a par with single player, they we're numerous and varied. Killed animals didn't despawn as easily, everything within extended minimap radius persisted. Rare spawns like moose, cougar and panther spawned more regularly.

I went to Saint Denis for only the 3rd or 4th since online released, made my horse flee and walked around, waited for and rode the tram, indulged in some photography, it was joyous.

The train spawned whenever I got near a station, gang hideouts and ambushes worked like clockwork, I got 4 treasure maps from looting.

The only downside was that even though Stranger missions worked, as in started every time, whenever a freeroam event notification was received the mission ended immediately, so they had to be timed well or avoided.

All in all it was a huge reminder, to me at least, of just how good invite only lobbies would be. I'd play even more than I already do, I might even buy a few gold bars every so often in support of a truly enjoyable product.

Other than what @clinical oppression mentioned above, the only place I've seen a use for it is the Saloon in Tumbleweed--the stairs on the outside lead to a second-floor door with a lock that it can open.

But again, this is useless, as there's nothing special or even lootable in the room, and you can walk right into that same room from within the Saloon itself. Go figure.

Hopefully this will actually have significant value in the game, along with things like herbivore and predator bait, and a slew of other future items such as ways to distract NPCs, etc.

Personally, I would love to be able to use the Lock Pick to enter and loot NPC houses that are currently locked... I have a feeling this is probably what Rockstar has in mind..? Would be even better if we could lock those same doors behind us, as it could really switch up some game play, by enabling evasion from griefers and lawmen--house windows (if exists--The Loft's tower windows have no glass) might then be considered an alternate means of entering/exiting, though they would take time to break through.

Unlocking the large steel back doors (e.g. the Gunsmith in St. Denis) would also be a great use for the lock picks.

BTW, do the geysers in Cotorra Springs actually work, or was that functionality removed in RDO? I was there for a while recently, but never saw either of the geysers erupt..?

If you mean those in the north so yes! But don´t jump in them!

I wonder why so many men play female characters (it's obvious if their psn ID is a male name), yet so many gals play female characters. I've never played a female character, not that I care if other guys do or not. Just curious.

I think IF we had to play as a girl/lady in story mode instead of Arthur I think I would created a male character instead!

It's likely that the reason there's no timetable is because it only spawns when players are nearby.

That said I did find an abandoned train in Emerald Station a few weeks ago - it was probably hijacked and dumped moments before, but as I can't see blips anymore who can tell.

I'd like to be able to wait for a passenger train with seating and have it arrive at certain times - it'd be nice to buy a ticket from Rhodes to Annesburg for example, sitting among other NPC folk watching the world roll by and getting the ol' six shooter out in an emergency if the train was held up by bandits or other players.

Oh, I need to suggested this! Sometimes it´s just fun to do nothing in the game and just look at the landscape until an idiot shoot you of the train!

I think they should let us put stuff in the box at our camp; instead of only being able to take stuff. Kind of like the item boxes in the old resident evil games.

Would de-clutter people's weapon wheels, as well as allow us to stockpile ammo/tonics/herbs that we've crafted, bought, or found.

Edit: Ah, why not? More or less just copy and pasted it. Maybe it might be a thing.

Yes, you are spot on how good the game could be in private lobby/small lobby 15/16 players.

And you are spot on about the gold shop, I have similar thought when to buy gold in the store! And it goes for all games with micro transactions! If the game is good and it don´t feel forced to buy stuff with real money yeah I can support it!

Last thursday and friday were nearly exactly the same for me except i had a tremendous amount of 3 star Moose, Elks, Deer and wolves didnt do any starngers or hideouts. Didnt see trains as didnt go near towns only to visit butcher, just enjoyed the hunting.

Oh and i was in lobby's with a minimum of 22 players as well.

Sheesh! Two treasure maps from two hideouts in a row, just about to reach 190 too so that'll be three! Has my luck finally turned or what?!

@Sammionna Don’t jinx it, lol 😂 A week ago I found a map each day for three consecutive days + level up map. After that - back to nothing. I always loot as much as I can, even getting off wagons during Stranger Missions to loot ambushers etc, to try and increase the chances. Sometimes it works, obviously, but most of the time I get nothing..

I wish.

I don't see how having, say three, loadouts we could switch between depending on our situation, could be a bad thing.

@ALifeOfMisery @Nerfgoth I’m leaning towards ”yes” myself, but part of me fears how it could be used by the dark side, lol. However if everyone could switch on the fly, it really should benefit those just trying to defend themselves moreso than the griefers... I think...

I can imagine how griefers would make such a feature benefit them, switching between Slippery and PIB quickly and on the fly could be an issue.

Personally I'd just like to have a freeroam PvP, mission/hideout PvE and and general defensive freeroam setup.

This so much, me and some friends glitched into a solo session by mistake and game was pure bliss, we didnt had tae worry aboot griefers or annoying assasination missions . Hunted in peace and was able tae do hideouts without worrying aboot neckbeards leeching of me. Got the 4 hideouts in a day buckle and tbh, i dont think i would been able tae do it without being in a solo lobby.

We are gonna try tae do it again today.

Apparently 1% of the map will be dripfed each week and to get the full experience, you'll need a PS4 Pro.

Yup, solo lobbies are the only way for me to go. I don't plan on going back to free roam without a solo lobby until after the defensive/offensive changes drop unless Rockstar blocks the glitch.

The only time I play without solo lobbies is when I'm going in and out of quick join missions--and, as little time as it takes for me to spawn in and out of them, I still got popped twice the other day!

From pve ya could get best results by doing strangers and story missions all day and the odd gang hideout once in a while, also switch up yer playstyle and look to reel in them awards. Those can be reset a bunch of times. Other than that pvp gives most xp quickly. Go to sh*tdowns if you want to level up fast and like spawnkilling players, though leveling past 100 right now serves no purpose and most likely won't ever.

Food for thought;

Suppose R* decides to turn RDO into a mmorpg, (essentially Second Life set in RD universe), would players find it more enjoyable and engaging?
