I'm pretty sure so, got some stealthy kills while crouched with its slow walking pouncing players that usually don't fall prey that way in free roam pvp. I really wish we could hide our blips in free roam while crouching without weapons that can kill easly from afar equiped. It would help a lot against griefing and solo players.

Good info. Yeah, I'll probably playing pretty casually, just seeing whats on offer.  Because like most things, I'll probably get bored and want a change of scenery. But while it's fresh, I want to have a good feel for RDO. And I hope to find a crew of similarly minded people about my own age that might be in to playing. But it's comforting to know that you can earn something.

I can tell you that you can't sit on the bed in the big collector's tent.  I can also tell you that it makes no sense at all.

After yesterday's chat with Mister Pink here, I got the urge to jump in, lol.

 

Had a pleasant lil' session yesterday and another hour or so today, no dramas or bugs to be fair. Just how it should be!

 

More like that and I'm set.

 

Anyway, I'm at rank 91 which surprised me, but the more surprising thing is that I'm at rank 10 with the moonshine role. Huh! 

 

Wish the other roles were that easy or unnoticeable to do, aside the collector of course.

I played last night and the game was working rather well, no problems except for some reason the showdowns were unavailable. But the highlight of the night started when another player used a lasso and knocked me off my horse. We traded rounds and another player jumped in, so I ended up defending the first player so he could revive his horse and made a friend so we teamed up and had a fun shootout in the streets of St Denis. By the time I had to log off we had eleven players involved, nobody was using overpowered rounds, we ignored the players riding through who were in defensive mode, all around it was a good old gunfight with players of all levels. This is the game that I enjoy playing!

 

Lol, I left that fight and went to Valentine to finish off something I had to do and before I could log out I had a player pull me off the horse and kill me. I came back and found the player taking my body to the gallows and I was like, "Oh I see what you are doing there.."

I found the same doings going on in Blackwater in the afternoon. (after several disconnections/failures to connect)

I usually just ignore any shooting going on when I arrive, never had an issue recently.

I don't ride through the middle of it mind you, but don't change my plans of where to visit either, people seem content to do their thing and I have no intention to interfere.

 

The only problem is when it's an NPC opposed trader sale in towns.

It is always at the fast travel post and there's no way you can slip in and use it while the battle is going on, so we have to wait for that to finish and all the bodies to get looted before traveling.

I'm not going in expecting the pleasent sessions I've had of late every time, but more like that and I'll certainly be more forgiving of the odd incident though. My main aim is rank 100, which I can get by mostly keeping away from towns too, I really enjoy wandering the woodlands and fields while stopping to fish a bit, lol. So relaxing out there when it goes right and mixed with a bit of a GTA:O hustle, both can work well together for me.

This week being focused on horse equipments was way better than the last 1-2 months of recent "weekly" content.

 

Finally bought all remaining stable slots, bought myself a Black and a Red Chestnut Arabian Horse, the Black i will use in Free-Roam Events (as option for my Turkoman and my Norfolk Roadster) and the Red Chestnut will be for basic Free Roam and Bounty Hunting in sessions alongside my Kentucky Sadler and my Breton.

 

Had a bad last week spawning in Valentine which some fellas were killing everything and other players horses, so refilling all provisions were a saving for me.

 

Will try to upgrade some of my other saddles when i have spare time, also didn't suffer from some classic frequent disconnects. (only after like 3-4 FR events in this week) and 2 sessions, that okay... (but still Rockstar).

 

From 165 Gold bars to 126, and from 18K to 15K, it saved me some gold and some money, so i'm really fine.

Logged in to find Cripps sitting by the pile of 100 units of trade goods looking inconsolably sad as he realized I was leaving them there again today.  Bob seemed very puzzled when I mounted up, made him vault over his water trough in the camp 10 times, and then dismounted.  Logged off.

Booted up RDO last night after a 2-3 month hiatus. Game still looks great. Rode around for a spell, shot some animals and fed them to Cripps. Rode past a stranger and exchanged a friendly wave and a whistle.

 

All in all, nothing too exhilarating, but quite enjoyable none the less.

Dear Diary,

Logged in and just could not take Cripps moping around by the huge pile of goods waiting to be delivered any longer, so one distant run to deliver 100 units of trade goods later I went back to the camp.  Cripps immediately started in with his "Look, I know you have other things going on but you need to pay attention to ours once in a while too..." bullsh*t.  Emptied both Navies in his direction, injected Bob with a couple of tonics, and logged off.

They got good speed, acceleration, hp and stamina. The most notorious feature is their agility, they are very nimble because of the superior handling. As for the downs, they are not good climbers as it tends to stumble quite often, and mine is a mare, shes very noisy, a lot more than the others.

 

In general is a good horse, even the npc’s will praise them as you pass by.

If you like the breed, then it's a good deal as it's on sale, very expensive otherwise.

 

Handling is something I generally take for granted, but horses are a bit of a mystery.

Today I muffed a tight turn in a race using the Roadster, since I'm used to the white Arabian's handling.

Roadster with the Naco saddle and hooded stirrups is supposed to be fastest in a race, but I still get beat.

Someone using a Thoroughbred was somehow 25 seconds ahead and we all got the same start.

Open races you can win with the Shire or Ardenne if you plan your route. In other races it is the same as other racing games. Find a good line.

I really liked this horse, felt a little bit more agile and responsible to commands than my 900$ Norfolk Roadster and Turkoman, yet 42/29 Gold Bars are a bit of killing for non-everyday or non-PTW RDR players, hella good for events, but still expensive.

 

However since it is a little bit more smaller than other high-end horses, it feels a little bit more harder and more strange to climb some sloping hills, very rarely this horse slides, a thing which is even more rarer if i'm using bigger horses such as Thoroughbred and some of the multi-class horses.

 

The arabian horse which i'm using on Salvage Events and used on 2 Condor Egg Events, a proper special saddle will work wonders for this horse, (i'm using a basic one by now because i'm lazy).

I don't know if this has been posted about or how many people are aware of this in RDO, but R* really need to get on top of the KKK sh*t that some players are getting up to in game.

 

I'm far from PC, not easily offended and don't believe in history being ignored, but this type of behaviour, the outfits, messages, crew/posse names etc. needs stamping out. This stuff isn't for sh*ts and giggles.

 

R* need to be far more proactive.

 

I've put images in spoilers because I don't know where staff/mods would stand on them being fully visible.

That's disgusting but it's not the first or last time it has happened. Even on Consoles I have seen people dressed up in all white, with white longcoats, the full face bandanna and the big witch hat.

Yeah, whilever all white clothing is available players will make their own outfits, which is bad enough, but I'm a reasonable guy, what could R* do to police that, right?

 

But using the actual KKK NPC models on PC has to be stopped. The racist crew and posse names need to be stopped, R* need to expand their banned words list to include numerical replacement for letters in obviously racist language for a start. The ability to post lobby wide messages needs to be stamped out too.

 

It's not just RDO either, I saw a blatant nazi crew in GTAO the other day, swastika crew emblem, the whole 9 yards.

 

The current social and political situation combined with online anonymity has really emboldened some of these bigots. Wherever possible they should be banned.

Unless R* intends to use them later for Online just remove the games access to them.

In an ideal world this would be passed up the chain to MS/Sony/Steam or whatever platform you use and they would be banned at the very core. I mean every account associated with them deleted from MS/Sony/Steam. The email account they use, Windows accounts, PSN accounts, Steam accounts/hardware bans etc.

 

Scrub them and the accounts they used off the face of the planet. I would personally love to see their face when they log on to find their account has been deleted forever with all their purchases and their Console/PC has been permanently banned from ever accessing online again. And with the consoles I mean accessing PSN or XBL ever again. I don't know if you can ban a PC from accessing Steam.

I take it this is on PC and they pulled these costumes from Story Mode?  R* should have seen this coming, it was a dumb idea from the start. This and the whole southern inbred pig farmer thing was the worst part of story mode (and online) and weak story telling.  The kind of thing you end up with if you put a propeller beanie wearing GTA griefer on the writing staff.  Now these are some of the same people now running with OL and we wonder why it's such a mess.

Finds like this are why I keep coming back to the game. To the average person it may not look like much but to me, someone who grew up in the countryside surrounded by streams and wooded areas, its mind-blowing attention to detail. They didn't need to model and texture something like this but they did. Over here it's called a Ford, a shallow part of a river or stream where you can cross.

 

You can see where the soil has been stripped away by horse hooves on one side from use.

 

If you walk your horse across it the change in terrain depth is all modelled as well. Amazing.
