So just checking. With the Bolas, have they changed it so that you get them back no matter what as long as you Hogtie the person? As in, you throw one but don't Hogtie them, they escape, you then Lasso or knock them out and Hogtie them and the Bola goes back into your inventory?

Well thats what used to happen but I Bola'd a 3* Bounty last night and he got away as I was mopping up his goons, I chased him through the woods and Lasso'ed him, tied him up and got my Bola he broke out of back.

Seems the trolls and griefers are out in strength this weekend.

 

I let 2 of them off last night because they were much lower level and I couldn't be bothered wasting ammo on them, they tried to ruin my resupply mission then they hung around my camp waiting to ambush me. Went out the opposite direction to do the traveling dailies to Strawberry and Van Horn.

Had to put down one of a group of 4 who tried potting me from the little island outside St.Denis with the broken boat on it as I was trotting along the tracks to go to the butcher and the doctor to sell herbs.

Took out the first guy, then hopped back on my horse and sped into town to do what I went there to do as the other 3 tried in vain to hit me.

 

WTF, R* gave me a bunch of explosive and incendiary ammo during the Outlaw Pass, time to use it I guess.

Got all my dailies done that I can do, guess I'll burn some f*ckwits.

I had 2 griefers in Armadillo today trying to pull me of my horse, i was packed with pelts and a carcass.

Gave my horse the spurs, slide, turned and trampled them in full gallop with my Bretons big horse shoes... i named him El Diablo for a reason !

 

Not wasting any ammo on those peasants ehehehe

You can always rope 'em and give them a nice long drag.

Don't go max speed once you're out of range of any of their buddies' guns.

The longer it takes the saltier they'll get. 

 

Got back on to do some treasure maps and didn't run into any idiots this time.

Normally all I see are folks just doing their thing.

They really should be materials you know, I just find "Supply refill" annoying as it automatically redeems them and starts eating my materials, which left me with barely anything as I didn't even know it was processing!

And due to the hunting glitch? Can't restock

Material refills would be just as delicious as free fast traveling or free shine ingredients!

 

"But it saves you from doing a supply mission!" Yeah so? Some take 1-4 minutes while material gathering can take you a lot longer lol

Had something interesting and concerning happen today, was in Valentine and somebody started repeatedly shooting my hat off, and at one point hit me with dynamite that for whatever reason only knocked me down with its explosion and didn't kill me or my horse. The concerning part is I could not see the other player at all, no blip or anything. I'm on a console and not a PC as well so this struck me as very odd.

What is it with the f*ck boys that look lie they are trying too hard to cosplay characters from Vikings being dicks?

 

I have come across multiple people dressed like Vikings characters with the shaved side of the head and ludicrous facial hair in blonde wearing as much fur as possible attacking people in twos.

And the large resupply missions like with Wagons give you a good chunk of Materials as well.

yeah me 2, mostly i see friendly people but now with the holidays it looked like all grief kids were back, its almost always high rank players that grief i noticed last 2 weeks.

Im on ps4 and got headshotted with a carcano rifle many times last 2 weeks, im always in defensive and check it often if i still am.

Every time i stand still i get shot with a carcano, so they found a workaround for the defensive mode.

It seems even possible when you are in camp.

 

I keep saying that we need private sessions/lobby's.

Does anyone know if you need to have 15 gold bars in your inventory to claim the collector bag for free? I collected all playing cards in GTA:O on my PS4 and have my PC and PS4 account linked via Rockstar Social Club. When I made a new character in RDO on PC I got the notification that I could get the collector bag for free. When I visited Nazar however the cutscene ended with me having too little money (I had 11 gold bars at the time). Will the bag be free when I get 4 more gold bars?

Pretty sure you can only claim stuff like that once per account. So if you have made a character already you can't claim it. If its your first character then I would contact R* Support.

I'm level 224 and have had nothing but posses of lower level players, 20 to 30's, shooting me in the back for the past two weeks. Ever since I reached the higher levels people seem to be drawn to messing with me more. Now I'm not out to get anyone and usually I hold my fire until I am certain this is an attack because sometimes people get itchy if you ride by them, or they miss the button to emote, but these have been deliberate head shots while I am riding away from them.  If I'm not in the middle of something I will humor them, back my guns down and give them a gun fight, but if you have to hit me from behind while I'm riding away I will have to give a dose of explosive or incendiary rounds for my own entertainment. And defensive mode has become more of a hindrance in my opinion, they can still one shot kill you with it on. But you have a heck of a time defending yourself for that 30 seconds it takes for offensive to take effect because you cannot target the ones attacking you efficiently.

Heard a sound yesterday in Lagras, I'm sure I haven't heard it in game before and can't work out what it was. 

Sounds like a male voice shouting or screaming but seems to cut off. I tried EE to hear better but never heard it again.

The low ranks are usually the ones who mess with me too, they treat the game like GTA: Westworld because they haven't settled into the roles yet.

 

It's been an extension of the weekend warrior issue, kids everywhere have been off school so they've plagued weekdays as well.

 

Hopefully it should start to settle down during the week now Christmas and the New Year holidays are over.

Same as GTAO, its always a Posse of two that start sh*t. I get it, two friends playing the game and larger Posses have more people in them so they are either dedicated groups or have more voices of reason within them.

I hit rank 100 of the OP2 and rank 20 as moonshiner last week. With no animals, loading screens and moonshine production still resetting once in a while, I decided to jump back to single player, starting it all over again after more than a year. I now play the online for like 10-15 minutes just to do a couple of daily challenges to keep the streak alive and earn gold for the next update.

This is (again sigh*) a bug...

 

• Offensive: Same as always. You can shoot other players, and they can shoot you — players can auto-lock onto each other with firearms, and there is a Hostility boost when killing indiscriminately.
• Defensive: Swap to defensive and enemy players cannot auto-lock onto you. Killing Defensive Mode players, or killing while in Defensive Mode increases Hostility a large amount. You also won’t take critical damage (headshots) when in Defensive Mode.

I noticed that they can even headshot you from a distance with the Carcano rifle when you're in camp with the white flag raised.

This happened to me a couple times already, or cheats made it to PS4 too.

But i bet defensive play style is bugged knowing R*,  RDO got so many bugs (even game breaking ones) its even worse then a Bugthesda game...

Sounds like another player running into some trouble, though no players were nearby... weird! All I know is that my female character does some similar screaming depending on what's happening to her/me.

 

A similarly strange thing happens in GTA Online when you leave the game while still in the casino--you'll often hear one or more NPCs screaming.

Did this happen for anyone at all yesterday? I spawned into a new server that had only 6 players. My first thought of course was "f*ck, well this will last 1 minute before R* decides merge us with 26 other players."

 

That never happened. Played for almost an hour and it was absolutely a blast. Then I did a moonshine mission (destroy roadblock) and was inexplicably put in a SOLO session. Again, my thought was "f*cking great... when I'm done, I'll be merged with another 300 player server where we all get to fight over a one star toad..."

 

Finished the mission and was solo. I waited... and waited.... and waited.... still solo... WTF? Did someone at R* flip a switch? I invited a friend and expected again to be merged. We played, ran deliveries, moonshined, hunted, f*cked off for three hours. It was spectacular. And not one person joined or was merged. I know it was a fluke but goddamn it pissed me off because I KNOW how fun/great this game can be.

 

Why can't it always be like this?

Lol I've just had a session to myself for the last 5 hours. Was able to do everything including bootlegger and bounty missions.. even made a distant trader delivery in peace! 

Animals were everywhere, a fame seeker and follow the dog event showed up while I was on bounty missions and there was even an NPC fishing by the river near Beecher's Hope. I can't remember the last time I saw that.

The world felt alive again despite not seeing another player the whole time. 

Had to log off for the night, leaving a full hunting wagon and camp supplies.

Yeah, it's weird, because it's been rare for me when Thieves Landing is completely populated with NPCs.

 

...but during a session on Saturday (even with 21 players!), it was fully populated, and I made the bad mistake of shooting one of the Del Lobos without first getting into good cover. 8-O

 

I even saw an NPC on a horse near Flat Iron Lake (west side) being chased by a pack of wolves--not sure how it ended; they chased him off into the sunset. 8^D

I think they may have added some more random NPC dialog: I was riding into Valentine with a gun out and one said: "why don't you carry something less dangerous...like a stick".

I thought it was pretty funny.

I have a zero snide comment policy toward NPCs, and have sold many gold teeth to prove it. 8^D

 

One cool thing you can do while returning wagons/carts on missions: run over NPCs who don't get out of your way--without getting any wanted levels.

Me neither. I picture them as Rockstar Devs, spying on players in the game and refuse to fix issues. If they loudmouth, they die

I have the habit of replying to everything the St. Denis cops and lawmen spout off... such as:

 

Cop: "I'll string you up for the whole town to see!"

 

Me: "Sure, sweetie--you can't even get past the pile of your own dead officers."

I love the NPC comments in this game. I know its SP but one from the first day of SP always make me laugh when I think about it. Coming out of the Valentine hotel all giddy and I jump down off the veranda but misjudged it and Arthurs foot gets caught on the hitching post in front of it causing him to trip and land face first in the mud, a woman sat outside goes "Oh well, better luck next time" and I f*cking lost it laughing

lol, LSPD; No one cares if you've killed tons of drivers by crashing into their cars. Skimp a police car, "PULL OVER!!" and get shot dead when you do so.

Normally I get the "oh, need a gun, huh" comment which attracts lead unless I'm in the middle of something important, but the stick comment mad me laugh so he gets a pass.

 

And I really enjoy running them down, they get just enough time for a snide remark before they die.

And if I know I have time, I'll loot them too. (gotta roll over those achievements for extra gold)
