Trying to understand the stalkers & people who take it personal

Had some friends round for a few drinks and we decided to play some GTA Online. Not played in ages so a lil rusty. I had 3 high rank KD tryhards come after me. They used every cheat in the book, passive abuse, passive jet, easy way out, blow themselves up, ghost, off radar, you name it they done it. Regardless of all that i still managed to beat all 3 of them. I then went back to my facility. I know from being a GTA Veteran that tryhards are super terrified of being hit with the Orbital Cannon so hide scared in passive as soon as you enter your facility. But what i don't get is why are they so scared of an orbital cannon strike? Especially when i'm way ahead on the score cards. Me killing just 1 of them with the orbital cannon makes no difference as i've still won regardless of the cannon shot or not. I don't get why they are willing to sit and wait for what seems like forever for you to leave the facility so they can finally leave passive. The orbital cannon really does put the fear of God in them. Wasn't even going to use it. Why use it when i've already won without it? lol. And they sit and wait for you to leave so they can try to get a dirty kill on you all stalker like. One of them sat waiting outside of my facility in passive jet just waiting patiently for me. I said to my friends he will sit waiting for me but they didn't believe someone would be that sad and pathetic. So me and my friends decided to see how long they would wait. We we're having some drinks and laugh and kept checking back to see how long they would wait for me to leave my facility. I kid you not, almost 2, yes, 2 whole HOURS!!!! All 3 sat scared in passive sending hate texts demanding i leave my facility accusing me of hiding waiting to use my orbital cannon and get to the beach for "1 on 1 at the beach" even though it was 3 Vs 1, lol. Like i was going to fall for that! Anyway, i leave the facility and the guy who sat waiting in passive jet for 2 hours was instantly on me the very second i left the facility. So this guy had sat there itching to get a dirty passive jet kill on me for 2 hours!!!! That's proper shockingly weird behaviour that is. He didn't even get the kill as i left in an Avenger. They then vote kicked me. 

 

I'd love to know from a tryhard, why do you do this? Why so scared of the orbital cannon? Why sit and waste your life hiding in passive scared of your pixels dying and respawning? It's not as if you actually die in real life when someone kills you, it's just pixels that respawn. Why take a game so personal to the point you get so upset and angry and are prepared to sit and stalk people for hours on end? You add up all the hours of your life you spend hiding in passive and stalking waiting for others you must waste a hell of a lot of your lives. Why even play something that clearly makes you so upset and angry? What a way to live a life.

Its pretty normal to be honest. I had a fair share of people who took a dislike on me for no reason, started to chase and taunt me through the session and kept killing me. Since i dont fight back and leave the game i have quite a message list of ''coward'' and ''bye :D'' here.

 

What did i do for the random ''personal grudge'' ? Zero idea

I've been playing in semi-public sessions for some months now after spending around a year in a couple of grind crews, and yesterday was the first time in a loooong while when I saw several active tryhards working together to suicide as hard as they could (and to get a few kills in between, I guess). I tried to keep score of their suicide:kill ratio but that plan was doomed to fail cause suicides were too frequent and I was laughing too hard. The cherry on top was when the fourth of them (who joined the session a bit later than the first three) announced he/they doesn't care about k/d at all. Oh these ewo emos...

many people don't have empathy in their hearts, they lost it in feeling empty or any kind of emotional pain, they want to hurt the others so they can feel a sense of a relief; 

their ways of expressing themselves are harsh and repetetive, so they can feel noticed and belonging

 

 

 

that causes them to look all the same, to play all the same, to hurt the others.. those are the only ways they have to get attention and be noticed. drugs to numb the pain.

I really hate these tryhards, griefers and all these IlIIl-IlI guys.  I just want a fair fight but they arent interested.

 

Rarely they do join a deathmatch and i really enjoy these moments to teach them a lession that killing level 3 players and abusing game mechanics at the map doesnt makes you a good pvp player.

I think taking the easy way out effects KD now. Has done for a while. So everytime they EWO they knock down their KD.

 

Another weird one is when loads of "1 on 1 at the beach" tryhards/kd warriors all go to the beach and all just end up hiding in passive mode anyway. Lost count at the amount of times i've seen a beach full of tryhards and kd warriors all sitting on the beach in passive. lol Instead of saying "1 on 1 at the beach now noob" they may as well just say "Let's all go to the beach and sit in passive mode like a bunch of trumpets" f*cking odd little creatures.

Not quite. The EWO changes a while back were a bit misleading in that regard.

 

EWO only counts as a kill by another player (affecting K/D) if that person is but a slither away from death, inflicted by another player. Taking the easy way out while your health bar is green does not count as a kill, this is why certain people still do it after getting hit once or twice. Those who don't want to risk it just use sticky bombs or an RPG to EWO anyway.

The best way to beat a try hard to deny them battle. One kill against you is what they want, they cold have a million against them but one kill on you is enough.

Don't leave the session, just go Passive and annoy them. My personal favourite is putting a smoke trail on the OpMkII and blinding them constantly. Another good one is the TB Drones.

There are many questions that arise in my mind regarding this scenario.

Like, why would 3 high rank KD tryhards just suddenly come after you? What would prompt them to get so ticked off as to waste their time?

And why would they go to such elaborate lengths to use "every cheat in the book" just to get you, especially if you'd done nothing to them?

And, forgive me for saying, how were you able to beat 3 high rank KD tryhards who used "every trick in the book," without you, yourself, being a high rank KD tryhard using "every trick in the book?"

I'm not questioning the validity of your story, but to this high ranking player (not a KD tryhard, thank you), I can't imagine three senior level players banding together for NO reason and spending such elaborate time and energy on one junior level player. I just don't see it without more of a provocative backstory.

Now, if I were one of those 3 high rank KD tryhards and some low rank wannabe tryhard started messing with me and my friends, and wouldn't quit despite all our collective requests to "STOP BOTHERING US," yeah, I can imagine we would then turn all our focus from making money or doing jobs to making that low rank wannabe tryhard our sole mission. 

And we wouldn't stop until that low rank wannabe tryhard quit the session.

That's just my take. I'm not saying that you are a low rank wannabe tryhard or anything, but again, there's a backstory here that I don't think is being fully disclosed.

I could be wrong, but after five years of playing this game, I've seen some stuff.

Or start Headhunter, let them kill you once, there is a game mechanism that put them into a state where they can't go passive for 15min if they kill a VIP/CEO doing Headhunter.

 

It works with a couple of other jobs. (E.g someone shooting Airfreight Cargobob won't be able to go passive, but its generally too complicate to exploit ;(

 

Ofc bounty, and if possible ask friends/randoms to place bounty to make a rotation.

Also you can start Hostile Takeover, collect the package and then drive next to them so the police see them shooting you and they will have a five star wanted level that they cannot escape for twenty minutes. Even EWOing won't  remove it.

Yes, they can not escape it until the timer runs out or the Briefcase is delivered. Even death wont remove it. You need to physically outrun it. I personally enjoy taking the Case to the bottom of the ocean or putting it somewhere they cannot reach.

Wait, which Hostile Takeover is this? I know the Altruist one gets 3 stars and the LSIA gets you a 4 star.

All sounds a bit daft to me like you're making up some imaginary scenario just to get your point across. Agreed, many people play GTA online just to get in touch with their inner wanker.

My friends come over to do lots of stuff. To game. I have PS4 PRO and XBOX ONE X and retro consoles like Snes, Megadrive etc. I have 65" and 55" OLED TV's set up. We often play games from FIFA, old school split screen games like Mario Kart on the Snes etc. I have a snooker table and mini bar so we play snooker, cards, dice etc. Or just watch movies. Just generally hang out together.  And of course they can sit drink and chat while someone plays GTA. We can even pass the controller around and share. Do you not have friends or something? It's about friends hanging out spending time together away from our girlfriends not so much the activity. One of my friends will go and sit in his shed and drink beer on his own just to get away from his wife and kid for a bit, lol. So coming to mine to a nice warm cosy house to drink beer and watch me play GTA isn't bad, lol.  Other times we all go down the pub together.  You make it sound like they all just sat watching me play GTA and we sat glued to the TV screen watching tryhards stalk us for hours. Not at all. We got on with playing other games, chatting, drinking, eating (Cannot believe i'm having to explain this is detail but i think you may not get it if i don't, lol) and we left GTA on in the background and checked back once in a while to see if the tryhards were still sitting there. Whatever next.....

actually I have not met a tryhard that would stalk for more than 30 min. They move on a while after cursing and swearing. Or at least they move on to grief others while waiting for me to get out of passive.

I could be wrong, but after five years of playing this game, I've seen some stuff.

Why would they come after me? Because i myself am high rank and high KD (Had the game 5yrs). It would seem that high rank teams like to grief other high rankers for a "challenge". Even then these high rank KD warriors troll anyone really don't they. But they see someone with a high rank/KD as a prize.  

 

Why would they use every cheat in the book against me? Because they came at me and started losing. As soon as they start losing all the dirty tricks come out along with the nasty text messages along with demanding 1 on 1 at the beach.

 

How did i manage to beat them even though they were high rank and used dirty tricks? Because i myself am i high rank high KD. If you have seen any of my posts and videos on these forums you will know that i have an unusual playstyle that isn't like most peoples, i'm not predictable. I set traps and get good in not very popular vehicles to lure people in. Few quick examples from many. I take to the skies in a propeller plane to make them think i'm a easy noob target so they come straight for me in MKII's, Deluxos etc. Only thing is i'm very skilled in the propeller plane and can dodge all rockets and i soon give them a shock by defeating them in it. (Made another video of me beating 2 MKII's and a Deluxo at the same time earlier. Dodged all their rockets for ages then smashed them, lol) As they respawn i'm good with bombs so bomb them when they respawn or as they try the straight RPG as i swoop in thing that they do.  Park ya MOC in an open hangar and detach the trailer so no missiles can lock onto it, get in the back and man the turrets. The hangar protects you from jets and they only have 1 way in so you have full field of view and pick them off as they try destroy your MOC. Fire up Fully Loaded to get a strong Ruiner 2000 and so they cannot hide passive during Fully Loaded. Then go Ghost hop on a MKII  to trick them and pick them off sniping them from rooftops. Or my favourite at the moment zap them with the new lazer gun.  As Fully Loaded ends go back to the safety of the Terrorbyte and get them with drones or missiles when they respawn. Terrorbyte missiles lock onto ground targets. Mug them when close so they fall to the ground for a few seconds then get then while they are stuck down etc etc etc etc.

 

You mention i'm a junior player. I stated that i am a GTA Veteran. I'm rank 619 KD of 3.26. No i'm not a KD warrior i've just had the game 5yrs.  Everything i've said you should know if you have been playing the game 5yrs as well. 

 

To the folks that don't believe. Believe whatever you want. But if you know my forum posts you will also know that i often post video proof to back up my claims. Long video but i'm sure i have some of it if you really want it.

Yea and there is no limit to how many people you can "infect", you could have the entire Lobby with a four star Wanted Level.
