Best Xp earning method is...

Just wondering what everyone else is doing to earn XP. Saw a level 106 in showdown today, not sure how that’s possible but all good. I just can’t figure out whether playing mostly showdown series, hunting and gathering/fishing,  or award chasing is the best? Thoughts?

There are a few cheap ways to farm xp that are basically shooting fish in a barrel saints ally etc but a more less stupid way would be farming free roam events. Cold dead hands dispatch rider etc most just go in not really even looking to win just farming the xp you get from the kills.

I've taken to setting a waypoint say at the Tumbleweed butcher and hunting my way there from Armadillo. I get lots of animals, cougars. herbs and gang hideouts sometimes. I am not in a hurry and I rank up fairly quickly. I got this method from playing with HooverRAD and besides xp it brings lots of money.

If you do Showdown series make sure it's always LARGE. Either case, these are probably the best way to rank up and earn cash at the same time. You obviously get paid a lot more in xp and $ if you win of course. I'm already seeing 200+ rank goofballs who do nothing more then Large Showdown series.

Really sucks for freeaimers though. It'd be great if we had our own lobbies soon.

Showdown Series Large. Get loads of kills. Keep winning consistently. Do it in a posse with very good players that dominate. I'm currently Level 231+. Spawn camp/kill if you have to. It's easier way to farm loads of kills. Sometimes, people can get over 30+ or up to over 70+ kills in a match. If you imagine it, 70+ kills x 35 XP (Kill + Headshot + Dead Eye) = 2,450 XP + 300+ (for winning) = 2,750 XP sometimes. I mean, you can go up to that much in a Hostile Territory match.

i hunt in missions with a couple friends. lose no lives and you get almost 1k xp

but it what i care about is the money, as you’re getting paid to hunt. bear in mind that instead of hunting you could also afk. it’s gerat with 2-3 like minded friends

theres no doubt showdown is better for xp but i’m sure i lose money in showdown what with the ammo consumption. and it’s a broken mess.

and every time i go play showdown with my possee i end up in free for all, so f*ck that sh*t

Are you talking about the story missions where you just go hunting once you’ve finished before hitting the yellow marker?

If so, is there any way to do this with just 3 players?

I do it on the stranger missions and usually get 400 - 500 xp when leaving the timer to the last minute.

Showdown series large without a doubt. All my tryhard friends are past 150 from doing nothing but that.

I only play missions and get an occasional animal for health reasons. Would've been level 139 if I didn't start over. Currently at level 73.

stranger missions work too except there are random dickheads everywhere.

to do a mission with 3 you need to kick the random in the loby screen since turning matchmaking off does nothing

and you can’t really multitask during stranger missions as your horse cargo gets reset

Thanks.

Tried this yesterday but as soon as we kicked the 4th player a new one dropped in and the mission launched.

I find that stranger missions work well, I generally don’t bother about pelts when hunting and focus on the meat, small animals and birds so I never lose anything.

Rarely get bothered by other players but when we do we embrace it and have a good laugh whilst being mindful of the timer. There’s usually 3 of us over level 50 and we can generally hold our own.

It’s also a good way just to fool around so long as you’ve parked the wagon or whatever in the safe zone.

For the bushwhacking mission we just hogtie the last dude and ride around with him on the back of a horse until it’s time to throw him off a high bridge or something that’s near the next mission.

I find that it’s good variety, especially when other posses get involved, so it never feels like a grind. Usually get around $20 and up to 500xp per mission then whatever we make from the hunting.

Personally, all I do is try for at least 1 rank per day. My only goal at the moment is to buy and experiment with all the ability cards. Think I'm barely racking about $200 per rank. Good luck with everyone else's goals.

milking the timer on stranger missions is what i do when i’m with 5 or more people it’s pretty good but i find it tiring, as you have to watch out for randoms but also want to take as long as possible.

and starting them is glitchy af

Make your posse of 3, initiate the mission then the leader quits. The other posse members also need to quit out.

Posse leader should then see the mission you attempted on the game map, travel there, initiate mission, take on your posse members now it's basically invite only, no matchmaking.

Can be done with 2 people too. I've done it to play the finale mission over and over and over and over. Just farming kills.

So far what I seen is story missions pay good. Strangers missions have good xp and ok pay, showdowns have good pay ok xp unless you win lots, in wich I dont. Hope this helps

Cheers

I'm currently Level 231+.

I saw a video saying once bata is over they were going to do level wipes...

Not saying I've seen anything that confirms this

...but if it's true, it seems a waist of time getting up to that level only to have it taken away.

The latest news is that they got no plans to delete anything.and they already added an ingame shop. It wont happen, theres 0 reason for it.

@Callahan44

Ok cool

Good to know.

I was worried that I was waisting my efforts lol

..::Edit::..

Yeah I just read that they confirmed this earlier this month on Twitter. I don't do that lame Twitter crap so It's no wonder I didn't hear about this until now...

It's good to know that there will be no whipping of accounts.

Thanks again for the heads up.

@BUT THE BENZ

Don't remember any mentions of when it would be over. Just was a bit upset at the Idea of grinding levels if I was going to loose them.

Oh you saw it in a video, that's just fantastic!

Anyway, you don't get to level 200+ because you care about being such a high level. You get there by actually liking PVP, combined with being good at it.

Even if they would reset, he'll just start grinding PVP again just because he's having fun with.

Glad he likes it. That's just fantastic!

good for you and him.

...but being good at it?

Lol what ever...

85 to 95 % of that so called "being good" has much more to do with connection speed than actually skill.

...but don't worry, I'll be here to correct your mistakes

Good for me? WR👱‍♂️NG!  I don't do PVP, It's just my understanding that some people have fun doing it.

I also understand that showdown series are the best way to earn XP. Especially if you're good at it.

Yes, some people just really suck at PVP which automatically makes others good at it.

Do I admire their skill? No, I really couldn't care less about it. But that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge it.

And 85 to 95% has to do with connection speed? Where did you get those numbers other than your tight little 💩🕳️.

Let's all correct each others mistakes, that's what we're all here for after all, right?

Same here just aiming to rank up 1 level per day which is working fine with the occasional second level some days

I wonder how that factors into MLG Tournaments or those DOTA2/LoL Tournaments with millions of dollars on offer.

That's about where I am, I made 30 yesterday and 31 today so it's all good.

If you're not good at PvP (like I am) all the "events" are useless. I'll keep hunting and finding gang hideouts. Found 4 today so far today. Story missions thrown in now and then for boredom and xp.

If you want a relaxing way to farm a bit of xp, go pick a lot of herbs. Sell them to the doctor. From that you get the trade award, selling 100 gives you the gold award. Each award (5 of them) gives you an increasing xp award, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250. Reset the award for a profit of 0.2 gold bars, then go back out there , and pick some more. Gathering herbs is another award you can reset. So 100 herbs nets you 0.4 gold, 25 bucks and 1500xp. No griefing sorrows, no nothing. Just the lovely scenery. Anything else you pick up on the trip is just bonus.

You need to pick 1.000 herbs to get that award. So 100 herbs nets you 0.22 gold.

You can only reset the award 10 times and the dynamite hunting award is waaaaaaay faster. Just throw dynamite at fish. My personal best is 2 x 10 fish in one dynamite. Thats potentially 2 dynamites for 750 xp and 0.2 gold. But more realistic i used 8 dynamites and 20 min. to get the award. Unfortunately I've reset it 10times now.
