Ah, hope you've been finding it useful. I respond a bit more quickly on YT as the app sends notifications to my phone if someone comments.

Yeah man, I'm loving the guide, thanks. I'm only in chapter 4, even though I've been playing for weeks. Because you mix the side quests in with main missions, it makes the story last longer, which is really cool.

Yeah it’s designed with that in mind, and to break the collectibles up a bit. Doing them all in one go in the Epilogue might be more efficient if you were doing a speed run, but I’d find it a bit tedious doing that for 5 hours straight. But hopefully it is all done in an order that minimises the hassle, because you’re in the right location already after having finished a mission etc. I’m also a big fan of getting the challenges during missions where possible.

Yeah it's far better to mix it up. Finishing the story first takes away the incentive to get 100% in my opinion.

Had to test edit some link fixes in case I botched one of the large main sections of the guide - please ignore this post!

Just wanted so say thank you for such an amazing guide, would never have been able to get to 100% without it. I only have one suggestion/criticism for you to change. You said at the beginning of the forum to keep any gold Arthur has at the end of the story for John, but the game has been patched so John doesn’t get the gold bars now. So maybe just make a note of it so people can sell the bars and retrieve that money from the pig farm :)

Glad you found the guide useful. Thanks for flagging about the gold bar patch. Will make a note of it in the guide.

Hi

The time and effort you have put into this guide is amazing. I have never seen such carefully constructed guide anywhere before.

I'd like to ask if it is possible to get a pdf version of this guide. I'd prefer to have it printed, only for personal use, rather than to check the website.

I do appreciate your consideration.

Many thanks.

Hello everyone.

I was just wondering if there is a bug with accuracy in the game.

Because I never completed any objective that has to do with accuracy even in the first mission run (no checkpoints or anything)

I just made it to chapter 3 following this guide and not a single accuracy objective was ever completed, its getting in my nerves.

I did the one with Sadie where you get robbed by Lemoyne Raiders, and only used dead eye (all hits) but nothing.... Less than 80% accuracy.

does this not include "missable" missions?  I notice "Rescue Bill Williamson" from Chapter 2 is not listed anywhere.   If this does not have you complete each and every thing in the game can someone point me in the direction of something that does?   I honestly don't even care about getting 100%, trophies or gold finishes; I just want to play and see every single mission, event, easter egg, and so forth

Hi guys, sorry for late replies here, I haven't been online much of late.

@Marcuz990 difficult to say what is going wrong without seeing your gameplay. If you are using dead-eye, are you firing multiple shots at one target? The reason I ask is because if you fire additional shots into a corpse after you've killed it, then those subsequent bullets count as a miss. So for example, if you fire two shots in dead-eye at every target, and always the first one kills, the second goes into the dead body, then you'll end up with an accuracy of 50%.

@Ampm this guide includes missable missions, but not missable random events. The main reason is that this guide is a schedule, telling you what to do and when - e.g. complete Bandit 4 before "Blessed are the Meek" so you get Bandit 5 automatically before that mission. Get the collectibles in Grizzlies West the same time you go up to catch the Legendary Salmon, etc. However, it's difficult/impossible to put random events into such a guide. For example, the Bill Williamson event you rescue can happen in different counties and different times - Javier will randomly approach you in the wilderness.

Hi

Thank you for this phenomenal guide! But you haven't mentioned getting the White Arabian horse anywhere in the guide. Do you think it is worthwhile getting it at the start of Chapter 2?

Glad you like the guide.

RE the White Arabian, it depends how much having a special horse enhances your enjoyment of the game. It’s possible to complete all the challenges with an average horse, so you don’t need it. But worth getting if you want something faster and better looking for it’s own sake. If you check the introductory post there’s a link to an expanded guide with optional extras including finding and breaking the white Arabian.

Great guide, will defintetely follow this! I want to do as much stranger missions as possible with John in my next playthrough, and also get 100%. So is it possible to collect some dinosaur bones etc. before you actually start the stranger mission? Or do they only appear after I start the mission?

Thanks hope you like the guide. I have never tried to collect bones before the first Deborah MacGuinness encounter as it’s so close to camp in CH2, I suspect they do not appear (or cannot be collected) until you meet her. It would be easy to postpone the collectible parts of the guide until the Epilogue too though.

I tried yesterday and you actually can collect them before the first encounter. It wil give you a message like 'you found a dinosaur bone, someone is looking for it'. Same goes for cigarette cards I guess

I notice ypu put camp activities in there too (like fishing with Kieran, Home Robbery with Javier etc.). Any reason why hunting with Charles isnt on the list?

The activities included here are ones that are helpful for 100%. Fishing with Kieran takes you to a legendary fish. The Javier home robbery fast travels you north where you want to go anyway for the The Noblest of Men and a Woman quest, and you get a pump action shotgun. If you check out the top of the guide there is an expanded playlist with over 600 videos and that does have hunting with Charles.

I went along with your list, did everything in the order you did, and I'm at the Wapiti Reservation now to get the dynamite pamphlet, but it's not there, and I also haven't already bought it or have it. Any ideas why?

Not sure I’ve never known it not to be there. Is the box it’s in there(and empty) or is that not there either?

The box was there, just had some jewelry in there

Hmm, have you double checked all your pamphlets to see if you have it already? Could be you have it but haven’t read it yet.

Jim I wanted to thank you for what an incredible work you've done.

I actually speeded through my first playthrough of the game, and never bothered with callenges / stranger missions and requests / collectibles. I own the official guide but there's so many things to do I felt lost and shifted to online where I reached level 365 after over a thousand hours of playtime.

I've now decided to return to story mode and have a full playthrough using your 600+ video playlist.

It's so comprehensive and logical it makes the whole experience really enjoyable and stress free. The fact you segmented tasks in such a granular manner and recorded a video for each of them ensures we don't forget anything or get lost at any point.

I've just reached video 88/628 this morning, looking forward to the rest.

Many thanks!

After 260 hours I finally did it! It's also my very first game where I achieved 100% completion! Thanks so much for this amazing guide @Jimbatron! I hope you will make one for Red Dead Redemption aswell, so I can follow that one next!

Congrats on getting 100%, glad you found the guide useful.

I’d like to do more, an RDR would have been my next. However I just recently became a Dad so my time for gaming is reduced. It’s wonderful but young babies take so much looking after. Hopefully when are baby is a toddler it might coincide with GTA VI and I’ll have some time to do that!

Sorry if I'm reviving this thread but I just wanna say thank you for this guide. I've already completed the story in the PS4 with it, but didn't manage to achieve 100% because I had to sell my console before I could. I have a gaming laptop now and I can run the game at 60 fps in medium-high settings, so I've had more time and resources to soak in the experience. I'm using the guide as a reference and my current playthrough has been great, mixing bits from this guide while also hunting for easter eggs/random encounters/world events/unique items and weapons/camp requests/. It's crazy how much content story mode has lol. Only thing I regret was not helping the family building a house near Valentine, cause I went to get some lumber but when I got back they had already finished the work sadly. Still, it's been a hell of a ride and I'm still in Chapter 2!

If anybody wants to give this game a try, this guide will make stuff much more easier for you. I sincerely recommend it.
