... where do I put it?  Guides say "above the fireplace" but the only prompts I get around the fireplaces are "sit"

 

Also that was NOT the pose I picked when John and Abigale got their portrait done, why is it wrong?

 

EDIT: Ok, I figured it out, you have to wait till a Stranger's Question Mark pops up on the map to place it... for some reason >.>

Still doesn't explain why the portrait is wrong tho
