You will experience this kind of taste a lot. Either get used to it or avoid general sessions.

Killing in the context of the VIP/MC mission is not griefing. But usually, most players don't stop killing you even after the mission.

The majority of freeroam warriors are killing you not to compete with you, not to check their "skills", but for the sense of power. They come up with all kinds of excuses, like "PvP nature", "It's GTA, dude" , "This is the game objective", etc. But we all know the true reason.

testosteron, off the map and give them a fight! that is what i would  do when ill be attacked by other players. youll still lose your supplies and/or other stuff but make them their win taste as bitter as possible

Create your own crew or join a dead one. Once you have a confrontatiion with other players duing a sale, "Join Crew Members". You will appear in the same session, but the sale will be aborted. Therefore, you can make them as bitter as possible while keeping your product safe at the same time.

I was on a mission for my MC club when 3 players in one area started a ramage killing me left and right. I suspect they are friends because they didn't attack each other. This kept happening until I ran out of time to complete my mission. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I may stop playing GTA altogether if I keep getting similar experiences. It doesn't seem like I can go into passive mode as a president of an MC club which I need to be for my missions. Any suggestions to deal with these douchbags?

My suggestion, don't let the door hit you on your way out.

"Players killing me for no reason" "I was on an MC mission." Buddy, those two things do not go together, the mission was the reason kid. If it was a supply run the lobby is told to stop you and they get a small reward for. If it was a contact mission, which where you said ran out of time it sounds like, they get the same big lump of cash for stopping you that you get if you succeed. Starting one of those is quite literally CONSENTING TO PVP.

I won't always mess with someone's supplies unless they or their bodyguards have ticked me off. I will always join in on a freeroam contract mission, they are fun and the money is good.

Also, fyi, these days in GTA online unless someone is using an MK2 on you constantly or spawn locking you with snipers your not really being griefed.

Welcome to gta online I guess.

Thats pretty much whats going to happen to you on a daily basis since 75% of the playerbase are a$$holes.

Wanna make money? Get a solo public lobby or find a cartell crew and grind in peace.

In normal freemode avoid players with IGN or MP3 crewtags at all cost.

Easy: don't deal with them. Something that a lot of people still don't know is that you don't need to risk yourself doing MC missions on packed lobbies all by yourself. You can either find users in here who host their own friendly lobbies, or you can change the console's MTU to 800 (on PS4, don't know process on X1) and have public lobbies all for yourself. And it works perfectly for almost all money-making ventures (MC businesses, Import/Export, Gunrunning, Special Cargo, Nightclub) except for Smuggler's Run which isn't solo friendly.

If you're focused on making money fast, an empty public lobby is the solution. You can then expand onto other businesses, all with their own pros and cons. But that's a topic for another day.

What are you on?  If you're on Xbox, go into a public session, then do a NAT Test from your Xbox menu and it kicks all other players in the session but still allowing you to do MC work and deliveries.  If you're on PS and PC, there are ways to get solo too.  No more hassle from griefers!

Also, as mentioned already, you can try and stick to sessions with only a few low level people.  And try and play in free aim lobbies as griefers aren't as prevalent in those lobbies.  I only ever play in Free Aim.  Makes you a better gamer overall too.

Mtu sessions and passive mode are your bestfriend if you can't defend yourself tc.. The one thing that tryhards and griefers hates the most is things

they cannot kill.

The amount of rp people get for being dicks online to people who are trying to make money can be obtained doing a sh*tty simeon mission. TC is low level and there's assholes online who are attracted to that as a vampire is attracted to a virgin to boost their kill and death ratio. What happened here was they saw a low level and took advantage.

I started playing this game 12 months ago, the first month or so was a big learning curve in what you can and can't get away with in public sessions. Often it was frustrating being messed with while i was scraping together money for my first business, however, some of the best times I have had involved people messing with my jobs. The rush when you succeed makes you look forward to the next encounter, to the point where you are disappointed sometimes when nobody interferes. I will say though that this only applies to the types of jobs Big Molio was talking about (Headhunter, Torched, TB missions etc). Product destruction is not my cup of tea and I also think it is a scummy thing to do to someone.

Also: Something I wish I had learned earlier is to hit the power button on your console when a sale goes south. You will lose a bit of product when you restart but nothing compared to a full sale loss. I lost numerous coke and special cargo sales not knowing that trick

Unfortunately you will have more similar experiences. This is GTA Online.  They werent killing you for no reason. You was in a mission and the game told them to stop you.  Some players ignore these messages and tend to their own business while others accept this opportunity to have fun bothering you.  Don't let a few assholes make you quit playing.  Just adapt. My suggestions are...

* Kick everyone out the session using NAT test on XB1 (not sure on PS4 or PC).

* Session hop until you find one with few people.

* Play with friends.  If you don't have any invite randoms in the session to help you.

* Join a crew or club who does friendly lobbies.

I’m not disputing your right to partake in these activities obviously designed to be PVP...I’m merely stating it’s a waste of time and what’s wrong with the game.

Knock yourself out it’s not for me and I think many others...I’d imagine the people saying to back off are not ones to mess with others.

I have the most fun taking on piracy prevention, stand your ground, trying to steal a haulage truck, find the executive search target, destroy the armored boxville. It's not always about money and definately not a waste of time.

I run these missions too but it would die very fast without competition, absolutely boring in every way. Some do pay decent 12-15k for taking over a yacht for example but its not about money its about having fun which for many must involve pvp.

This is directed at the op. We all had a difficult time in the beginning, especially if your not a day 1 player. I started playing December 2017 and had a rough time but it made me a better player over time. If you want to play in public sessions you need to learn how to fight back.

free roam is an adversary roam, take the whole free roam as an adversay mode, players will try to kill you and mess with your stuff.

you thought it will be like a lobby in destiny, where players will greet you all the way..no.

first of all don't do mc or those hangars buisnesses to make money, just the name make me wanna puke, if you want to only have fun and experience some gameplay and fight with other players and such fun stuff its okay to do some mc and airfreight missions.. but for money ohh boy never ever. and this is how i feel about it.

buy yourself a bunker, save up money for the closest one to the city, and sell full stock only with 2 big rigs + ghost organization

then when you start to make money buy a vehicule warehouse to make a lot of money, then you won't need to be off radar anymore you just presss that R2 and show me your driving skills baby..

and don't play this game to make money, you gonna waste your time and energy and moral or what ever they call it,

play it just for fun and for fun only, don't be hungry for a good looking car or helicopter they are all the same they face all the same ending against an rpg or explosive sniper or an opressor,

play it for fun only my friend and take nothing personal,

and if you tried to play it to make money it will slowly become your second life, and by time you gonna regret it; because everything you worked for dissapears when you turn off your console, when you should have  worked for real good things that stays with you in your life.

and i may be wrong in everything i said. :)

CrysisAverted

It happens to me often

But sometimes I end up finally being killed by their joint teamwork and then I see the message that my bounty was claimed and I'm just like "oh yeah"

Rockstar really should include some lube in the starter pack. Or atleast take beginners out for a date before they get f*cked. No offence btw.

Invite only and solo public lobbies are the places to be for making money with no interference from randoms.
Invite only is the best as you can play with a friend/friends and loading times are faster than in public lobbies.
Solo public is for when a public lobby is required.
Public lobbies are for running amok pvp mayhem. It's fun, but not the place to be for when serious earnings is desired.

I had it today whilst doing the Diamond Terrorbyte mission.  Guy on an MK2 blew me up and then he and another MK2 rider were camping the diamond store waiting for me to rush in so they could kill me and steal it.  No chance!  I just triggered my NAT Test and poof, goodbye griefy trolls!  And I was allowed to deliver the diamonds in peace for a cool 60k, whilst they had wasted their time and were now presented with an empty jewelry store and missing diamonds.  No doubt being so close to each other they probably took their frustrations out on each other

Cheating isn’t really something to be proud of.

You should probably stop playing GTAO with your mouth open, as bad things are bound to happen when you do.

They were griefers who were only interested in denying me the diamonds.  Usually I play in a solo lobby as it is, so it would have made zero difference either way, as I would have made that 60k regardless.  This was just a delayed reaction, depending on if those in the session were douchebags, which they were hence instant NAT Test to help rid my session of trolls :) I see it more as an anti-griefer system rather than a cheat.

How is that cheating?

Did he harm another player? Nope.

Did he give himself an advantage? Nope.

Did he create a disadvantage for another player? Nope.

Did he modify the gamecode in any way? Nope.

All he did was remove himself from the lobby.

This may not be 100% fair game, but fairnes already jumped out the window when the two guys started camping at the shop.

And don't give me that "intended gameplay" crap. It is NOT intended gameplay that the opponents already know that a player is going to rob vangelico's when that player has not even been in the shop at that time. It is NOT intended gameplay that people camp at the shop waiting for the guy to come out of it.

What else could he have done? The second he would have come close to the exit he would have been blown up and by the time he respawned one of the opressor guys would have already flown of with the pack.

Its quite funny how the griefing folks cry "cheater" everytime someone denies them their easy kill.

Two players are camping, waiting for their victim to come by.

The intended victim manipulates the network admin protocols to literally knock players out of the game, so he doesn't have to fight them.

Yeah, that's not cheating much.

/sigh.

We have done this dance a hundred times, and I don't see any kind of common thinking now, but I will answer anyway.

Camping at any given score point for the opponent may be considered poor tactics, bad sportsmanship even, but it falls definitely within the remit of the game and its game-play mechanic.

Deliberately manipulating the game hardware, code or network connection to contrive unhindered access to a scoring scenario by removing competitive players from the game altogether is absolutely not as intended, and is 100% cheating at the game.

And you are wrong, "Did he give himself an advantage?" Er, yeah I should say that he absolutely did. If you remove your opponents from the field, in any competitive environment, you have an advantage.

Imagine if Andy Murray was able to click his fingers and remove Djokovic from the court in a tennis match, then carry on playing. Has he given himself an advantage (pardon the pun) ?

I should coco.

A Cheater shows up to play kickball with league-banned steel tip shoes and kicks fourth, knocking the ball into the woods and adding four runs, every time.
A Poor Sportsman plays by the rules, but always kicks the ball right to the one-armed blind kid on third who can't catch for squat.

Which is worse? I dunno. You decide.

Lol, I don't have to defend my anti-griefer tactics, when griefers use the most utter scumbag techniques in this game, just to get cheap laughs and ruin the experience for others.

Call it cheating if you like, I don't care.  I was merely defending myself, without harming or attacking others.
