Is GTA Online worth playing on PC?

I recently bought GTA Online for PC as I do not have a PS4 anymore. (Moving house, sold a few things). I plan on buying a PS4 Pro after Christmas.

Anyways... Within a few hours of playing, I'm ejected out of my car every 5 seconds with the modder laughing in chat at doing this to everyone. Thrown out of servers more often than I was on PS4 and within 5 hours of total gameplay I'm in bad sport for 48 hours. I have no idea how this happened, as I've been doing freeroam events for cash. My question is, should I wait it out? Give GTA Online another chance as this is just a very rare and unlucky experience or is this the entire experience of the PC version? Modders paradise and crazy sh*t going on.

Really depends on your luck.
Playing on PC, not that often, but it's nothing like sessions are filled with haxors.

I think GTAV/O definitely demonstrates the strengths and weakness of the platforms that it is on.
Now just my opinion:
GTA:O - Console is best option. No mods or hacking. The only thing you may have to worry about is the occasional glitcher/exploiter. But that can happen regardless of platform.
GTA:V - PC is the best option. Just the shear amount of mods and graphical/gameplay enhancements make it the hands down winner for single player.
But, this is just my opinion.

If you like to play legit and want to play among others in public sessions, definitely not. Far too risky, IMO.

If you don't care and don't mind the risk of all the crap, or R* potentially banning you because of others actions, go nuts.

Seeing as you plan to buy a PS4 pro, I'd wait for that. And honestly, I'll never play a R* game online on PC, not until I learn it's safe from that crap.

That can be debatable. There is an obvious cheater problem in public sessions (Though I've yet to encounter a cheater, and I've been in a non-firewalled public session twice this week), but the game is still very much playable with friends and non-cheaters.

However for single player, yes. It's more than worth it. Mods, such as Vanillaworks, can infinitely expand the gameplay and fun in singleplayer - something that Rockstar won't do. You get to play with Online-only stuff without having to pay for it, etc.

Have fun and don't invest too much into it, therefore you won't regret if you lose everything.

If you want to cheat, use the less popular and modest methods available on the market.

If you want to play legit, don't waste too much of your time on grinding, use the passive methods or the missions that requires the least amount of objectives.

Risky? This is a freaking videogame, not a skyjump.

No, you shouldn't. You were put into the Badsport by a modder. What you should do instead is to write a personal message to Spinethetic on this forum

Well, if anyone here has been badsported by a modder, just send me a direct message here with your social club ign. We can meet up in-lobby and I'll get ya out. Just trying to extend some help here because this issue is ongoing and wide spread and r* dosen't seem to have done anything about it in all this time with this offensive ugc b.s. method.

If he is busy, you can try to reach the Rockstar technical support. They are aware about the problem and can remove the Badsport state from you.

I did indeed send a ticket to rcokstar, they replied basically saying it's my own fault.

As I said, if the OP plans to play among randoms in public, and wants to remain legitimate and not have their account manipulated potentially at the will of other players, I believe it's too risky.

I know it's a videogame dude, but many like to make their own progress and enjoy their gaming, not wanting others to play silly buggers.

well that´s unfortunate and "unlucky"

I´ve been playing GTAO on PC for 3 years now and , yeah there are definitely Modders around , but I´ve never lost money or put in a bad sport lobby or something ...

yeah some troubles here and there , but I disconnect immediately after a modder starts to mess around ...

still , PC is way better than any console IMO...

Yes absolutely, it's fantastic on PC.  Just be ready to find a new lobby once you notice mod menu stuff before you wind up in a cage or something.  There's no fighting that off

Little update, after talking to a few on rockstar support they have taken me out of bad sport.

I'd imagine it's still fun to play with all the fun single player mods that are available.

Yes, it's worth it. Because in my opinion regardless of the platform, it's better to play with people you know. Good crews are around, just look. I will never go back to consoles to play with randoms, but I won't play with them on PC either.

worst i've seen as a legit player on pc is spawning planes, being caged, attached with random objects and blown up, although now those explosions don't do much other then toss you in the air

luckily OpenIV works online and i can just replace those annoying models with small plants and cargoplanes with bikes

being badsported or even drained of your cash is pretty extreme and unlikely to happen that often, if at all

i've been playing since it was out on pc and don't really regret it, it's kinda fun but i also don't take the game very seriously either, so i won't stop playing cause of the state it's in (or rather has been in cause when has it not been like this?)

I find this week was ok in free-aim lobbies. Beside some tryhard who managed to blow up my Phantom Custom with a single RPG shot(though it might be a bug I will never know).

In comparison to some periods I think its currently playable. But thats subjective, I was maybe lucky to find lobbies with zero scriptkid activities.
