GTA V not saving progress

I have the steam version of GTA V. Ive had no problems but now it doesnt save my progress. So, a few days ago, Ive moved my GTA V installation folder (using the Move Install Folder) to my external HDD. Now, GTA would ask me to calibrate the display etc. and also play the prologue for me to play online every time I launch GTA. Any ideas how to fix it? I cant put it on my internal drive, as I have a laptop that has only a 500gb ssd in it. Any ideas how to fix it? P.S. Ive tried to verify the files and still it does the same thing.
