If you're on a Trader resupply and you grab the wagon close enough to your camp, you don't have to go anywhere. Just jump in the wagon and call it day.

If you listen you can hear Cripps say welcome back as I ride by.

I thought my guns were glitched at first and was wondering how I managed to get it stuck in a tree? 😆 At first I didn't see the darn thing and must have walked into it because my guy did this weird ducking movement and that's what initially caught my attention, it's why I thought one of my guns was stuck there at first.

Kind of a cool feature though.

^^ For anyone wondering where it is (more specifically), it's just south of the church. Makes me wonder if bayonets for our rifles will show up one of these days?

FWIW, I wasn't aware that the gun swap mechanic was still in RDO, albeit disabled.

Standing over one of the dead NPCs in one of Maggie's Moonshine missions produces the "Drop LeMat Revolver for worn Cattleman Revolver" option; must have been missed by R* for that specific NPC, as none of the other NPCs had that option.

FWIW, your horse also "drop-spawns" in when you call it; first time I've actually seen it happen.

Seems obvious considering other animal spawns, but player horses typically spawn in at a much further distance where the player can't see it happening... until last night when (for some reason) my horse spawned about 10 feet from my location directly in my view.

He wasn't happy about R*'s M.O. of bringing him into the game--sounded like someone kicked his rump when he hit the ground after falling about 4 feet from thin air. 8-O

^Similar to that, today I got a "duplicate" of my horse after exiting the shack. I whistled, and my horse came to me as his "dupe" was getting away in the opposite direction.:sigh:

This happens any time you exit the shack right after entering and your horse hasn't had time to run away yet. One is leaving as the 'new' one is approaching.

I found out that if you switch sessions your time spent related to 'don't kill an animal for __ hours' gets reset.   😬

I've tried this dozens of times but was never able to pull-off jumping from train to horse.  I shoulda got double for that Daily.

I've always done it from a flatcar, never had an issue that way.

Nice mountie outfit, BTW!

I had no idea you could jump onto the sides of those cars--could be very handy when you need to get on the train while avoiding NPCs on the flat cars (e.g. bounty target).

Thanks for posting this!

Get on a flat car, whistle your horse until it's running alongside the train and when whistle it again and it will come in close so a prompt appears.

Is this new? I don't recall seeing a mummy in Armadillo before.

I’ve had that too. My two horses hammered into each other and fell.

If you've ever wondered whether you can complete some random encounters remotely, the answer is "yes." :)

From across the chasm, I managed to snipe the rope of the guy caught in the tree trap; getting his thanks, the XP and the money (Rolling Block FTW lol):

I never noticed until yesterday(been playing since day 1) that when you press "x" to make yout horse go faster, your character actually digs his heals into the side of the horse(I don't know what it is called IRL if it even has name).

'Spurring' the horse, also used to control lateral movement as well as forward, thus the name for the spurs on your boots, which often include wheels with points (called rowels).

Depending on the horse you lightly tap a heel against the animal and it will respond to the command and start moving forward slowly, tapping it again and the horse knows you want to move faster and so on. Some horses are trained to obey through sound also, that's why you may hear a rider make a clicking noise. Horses are very keen on how you are sitting in the saddle and what movements you make while in the saddle. So never lean forward in the saddle and tap their sides, that horse might bolt like a bat out of hell. 😁

Spurs were sometimes used to force the horses to move because the edged dug into the skin causing it pain, it's why they were used in training green horses, like the spiked bits in the horse's mouth, cause them pain and make them obey.

The feeling would be like someone sticking you under the ribs with a fork.

An NPC struck with a Poison Knife or Arrow will drop their gun before dying  You'll see the swap prompt afterwards.

If you use the Double Barrel Shotgun and fire one shot your character will actually move their finger to the second trigger and use that to fire the second shot.

If you use a weapon with lever action, press and hold the controller trigger between shots and your character will do half the animation and hold it causing the spent casing to eject and you can see smoke wafting out of the ejection port.

I think it's rank 60 or thereabouts.

Even more funny is that the dynamite will knock you off the wagon and kill you, but won't actually destroy the wagon, they have to set fire to it to wreck the wagon apparently.

I saw some griefers try this on a live streamer once and they were surprised that the wagon was fine, they blew off the driver then they got wrecked by the streamer's posse, very amusing to watch.

You can destroy it by just sheer number of bullets too, I've had it happen to me with NPCs. I got bored of fighting them off and stubbornly just kept riding, most of the shots hit the wagon and eventually it just broke apart.

Since they added pursuing NPCs I've had the wheel become increasingly wobbly, and eventually lost almost 1/4 of one of the front wheel from NPC gunfire while I was circling around to gain distance for the daily.

The wagon also lost a significant bit of speed after taking that wheel damage.

Did you know there is a NPC "beggar" in Blackwater beside the General Store?

I did yesterday when a white dot appears and someone begging for money.

Give himn a couple of 25 cents, and he gives you something in return.

I tried this and it works with every longarm that has an action to cycle (so it works with the bolt and pump-action guns as well as the lever-actions). It's a neat detail.

Yea, my mistake. I think it also works with cocking the hammers on Revolvers.

Don't forget to eat some of that poisonous herb and vomit on him. Feed your horse and have it sh*t on him as well.

Since the beggar likes alcohol so much, it's too bad I can't offload my excess bottles of Kentucky Bourbon, Gin, etc. onto him. ;)

I could even donate a pork chop or two, but I'll keep my guns. lol

Yes!

We'd finally have a use for all that damned bourbon.

I don't use it because it damages your health core, unless I need to eat something specific for a daily.

I normally favor brandy, because of the fancy bottle, or something I know I'm about to pick up nearby.

I found that you can't brush your horse if it's agitated due to a predator.

I don't get why we can't sell excess stuff to the shops like we can in SP. We ain't exactly gonna get rich by selling booze to the shops for like a dollar a bottle. Loaded up SP the other day to test out some dolours on the M1899 and when I was in the shop changing clothes I noticed that you can sell stuff to the shops in SP.
