Hikikomori-Yume
I just watched this video on my Oculus Go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWiWKrJdb18 I must say .... this makes V seem like such a much more interesting game. To me, V was really boring and a waste of potential, but in VR I would love to do nothing but explore the world. Playing in virtual reality brings a completely different aspect to video games, you're not simply observing what's happening through a screen, with VR you are actually inside the game on a visual/auditory and psychological level. Exploring games on a tv screen can still be an interesting experience, but the novelty factor and interest only last so long until boredom sets in and with a game like V, after the story (which was trash to begin with) it definitely gets very boring real quick. If V were remade/remastered for VR, I could see myself actually end up loving it. For VI, virtual reality absolutely must be included, whether as an optional feature or the way the game will be played entirely. Just think of these activities and how awesome they would be in VR: - flying planes and helicopters around the world. Imagine flying a helicopter around Liberty City at night, then jumping out of it and with a parachute slowly descending to a random street or on top of a building - exploring the ocean via either scuba diving or a submarine - hanging out in your safehouse - walking around the city absorbing the atmosphere and staring at all the locations and npcs - epic shootouts (imagine using a toy gun made for vr with a game like gta) - police chases in online mode with one person driving and the others shooting at the cops I know some people here are apprehensive towards VR or out right refuse to get into it for various reasons ... but trust me ... once a GTA game is made for VR from the ground up and you get the chance to experience it, you will fall in love. MrBreak16
Well, virtual reality is expansive and not everyone can afford it, that’s why we have game consols, also I don’t think it would be a great idea, Gta is a huge game and graphics are very downgraded on VR, also It would be pretty glitchy... Big Molio
I prefer 3rd person perspective games. I like to have a customisable character that I can see. I have no interest in 1st person perspective, whether virtual or not. I would probably abandon the franchise if they went this way. Racecarlock
While I won't say no to a VR mode, as I would like to skydive from max altitude with immortality on in VR, making it VR only would be a massive misstep. sh*t, I'm lucky to have the camera room to even play on my PSVR, and I can't even play any of the move controller games because I don't have a move controller. XXVIII
I am the one that got away, the one that is most wanted by the public, I believe ambition and immersion has to evade constitutionality. ‘VR’ is my headmaster. I am the elusive agent, the Hitman. I am hope, chaos and sin. I am you: the storyteller, the shapeshifter. The MIRACL3. The Golden Rule of this experience is that, at any given time, mere seconds could be your enemy. If just one second makes off with your eyes, one or more impurities, the well-intentioned are coming with their bullets, knifes... their voodoo... to sodomize your four walls, and all that is inexplicable amongst the four walls of a universe that did not and will not, write your fate. You are Zulu and this is your Go Route. You may have defenders, but still you may have blinders so much that you taste silence, and armed with PlayStation 5 haptics you are the authoritarian. Whoever of the NPCs, hardwired with a pulse that writhes in real time that should rob you of your control... is going to feel it. Just as your eyes will scream it. With a gingerly tap of the trigger bumper, you will feel the kinetic energy of a pistol’s hammer surging as the gunpowder is obliterated, or when the full trigger is under the thumb of your index finger. Kaahhhk! Ting-tada-ding! No take backs. This is virtual real life simulation. The innocent that you unleashed the devil on will lay atop a backboard and then a stretcher beneath the skylights, and then immortalized. A bounty may call for your expulsion from existence. VR is never far away from ER. This is the adult paradise, any number less than that of 18 (15/16 within specific quadrants of the globe) that bypasses this admission threshold will behold the definitive meaning of open-world in its ultimate form: the beginning of the end for any competition that attempts to outweigh and outwit gaming history. @Rocketeer Edited December 27, 2019 by XXVIII Rocketeer
Eriahslon
In my opinion, this wouldn't feel right in a GTA game,i reckon it just stays to the usual style.
Lotte
i mean it should have a VR option baked in because making it mandatory seems like it would be a sales disaster. these games have a pretty massive scope and the buy in price for VR (on top of the buy in price for a console or PC) is high enough that no matter how you slice it, it's a pretty narrow audience

Jakub1904
Definitely not. I would like it if they made some other VR title, but making next GTA VR only is the fastest way to infuriate the vast majority of their fans. ventogt

Thejeffster
GTA VI would lose a f*ckton of money if they just pondered to being VR. Probably the biggest failure Rockstar would ever commit. Edited December 28, 2019 by Thejeffster subzero5
José_Sócrates
Hahahahaha no. Wait, let me read the post. Hm, it seems your reasoning is not total sh*t, and it sounds a little convincing. Your last sentence is tempting, I admit. Let me think about this for a bit: It would definitely be a new experience. If they could pull it off with the gameplay and story it would be amazing. If it was a success, it could bring in a lot of money. Money. And would I mind buying VR just for GTA? Probably. Do I trust Rockstar like that? No. Let me think about this again. Nah, I was just messing with you. The answer is still, crearly: NO!
Volatollotalov
No too. VR is still too clunky, inconvenient and downright unhygienic. People want to jump into a game and spend whatever short time they have available to get the most out of it. Slow burner - big earner. R* have a track record of offering their own interpretations of different types games and so I would not be surprised if small and specific parts of GTA6 were optionally VR compatible, but I do think that it would be commercial suicide to make the whole thing on VR only. I agree that driving and flight would be awesome in VR, but it's too soon. And by the way, it's good that you asked this question, it's a really interesting angle and the future of VR is unknown. Don't let sneering and arrogant douchebags @José_Sócrates push you down. Edited December 29, 2019 by Volatollotalov
Xiled
Better off waiting for people to mod vr support in like they have already. Closest thing we have to a vr rockstar game is manhunt 2 on the wii with interactive stabby stabby with the wii controller.
