The assistant had to call me to remind me that I should get a move on during a crate run.

I was getting my car flipping technique down and lost track of time.

If you shoot the ground beneath the front or rear of a vehicle it will bend the vehicle's nose or tail up after a few shots.

Looks pretty funny.

It seems to work like collision damage to the vehicle.

That half a page of arguments and disagreements hidden and a firm warning for the participants.  A few of you are already straining your welcome and carrying on the discussion in the same light will result in the persons involved taking a nice festive holiday away from GTAF!

Carry on.

Huh?? Sorry have I missed something?

Typical usual suspects that derail threads and can’t grasp the concept of PMing the person they want to argue with instead of littering a civil thread.

Not really, was quite bland. Some catty-ness and "off-topic" discussion from all parties (myself included), but nothing worth reading. Unfortunately, something get caught in the cross fire.

This opinion:

Sure, it's not GTA-like at all, but then this game hasn't been like GTA for a long time, so just go with it.

And since GTA is returning to it's originally goofiness (GTA IV was the only serious one), I actually think it would be interesting to see this return in somewhat of it's original form.

And, if they were to do it similar to how they did the Up-N-Atomizer, it potentially could be a fun weapon addition without too many negative drawbacks/balancing issues.

Damn it, I forgot to test shooting the zap zap atomizer against the boost of a Vigilante or Oppressor 2.

I wonder if it's efficient to launch yourself airborne with this fun thing if someone's trying to run you over really fast?

Great post. Some people tend to use confirmation bias about GTA always being serious/grounded but it also combined elements of comedy and sci-fi, political satire, etc. Nothing wrong with harmless and quirky additions to a sandbox online multiplayer.

It's probably (probably?) a good thing that we can't use the UnA from inside / riding vehicles (although I haven't tried standing on a boat that someone else is piloting...) as it would be especially trolling and OP. Also good in a way that the upcoming weapons don't have the same splash/fling damage attached to their rapid-fire projectiles.

That being said... how long do you think it'll be before we get an Oppressor Mk3 or Anti-Alien Nightshark with these attached? I mean the Kinetic Mines and Kinetic Grenades on some of the Arena vehicles are one thing, but having mounted or turreted UnAs would be a game-changing fustercluck (albeit a fun one)

I think clucknbell would be all for this counter promotion.

A hovering faggio perhaps?

Like the look and premise of this weapon but hate the performance. I had to hit a bony biker wearing just a thin t-shift and it took like 4-5 hits to kill him, and this on a low mission, B/U 3 IIRC. Just a little more power would make it a lot more practical and I'm not asking that for PvP, just vs the CPU.

NPCs that are intended to kill you.

This gun is powerful enough for crowds of civilians.  It may not kill them, but it can send up to a dozen or so into the air with one shot.

Being a player on the receiving end of an Atomizer is annoying because it will take several sots to kill you and you can't do anything to run or fight between hits.  OTOH, the shooter also can't do much (unless they shoot you with something else after the first shot).

GTA2 was set in the future though. And were Vice City and GTAIII really goofy?

GTAO has gone way over the top in comparison to all previous games. Hoping for a really dark and serious VIce City.

III: not that goofy (other than your character not speaking) but not that realistic, either.  Drive through the wrong neighborhood and it's instant gunfire

VC: Somewhat goofy.  (The drugs in the ice cream truck, Love Fist's missions, "boomshine", the motorcycle stunts to promote the porn star, the way ALL the gangs work with you, etc)

San Andreas: If you only looked at CJ and the gangs and the corrupt cops it was almost serious, but all the side-stuff and the rocket belt mission in the secret base was goofy

VCS: Slightly more goofy.  (The robot in that guy's house, Phil Collins)

LCS: I don't remember much of it, but the fat mob boss going with you in the end was just implausible.

IV: More serious (story mode, that is.  F*** the crappy multiplayer), with bits of humor, like the foul-mouthed mob daughter in the trunk

TLatD/BoGT: more like IV

Think of it like this: This GTA O trying to live up to it's older brother GTA SA with it's green goo and jetpacks.

i mean, i wouldn't call RC planes with machine guns and RC cars with plastic explosives tucked into them, dildo bats, flower bouquets and jetpacks comparable to GTA IV's depressing "you can never win" atmosphere

Not as far into the future as you would think

"the game's manual and website use the phrase "three weeks into the future";[5] fictional journal entries on the Grand Theft Auto 2 website suggest the year to be 2013, but rather the in-game references suggest the game to be set in 1999.[4]

I'm sure we can all agree that GTAO is the wackiest iteration of all GTA games by far.

I would say, yes, they were very goofy. Just listen to the radio commercials, that is the reality Claude, Tommy, CJ, and the rest of the protagonists occupy. "Liberty City Survivor" for example, a city wide deathmatch and primetime television show. Same with the Bloodring in Vice City. Cant forget about aliens and rocket packs in GTA:SA. That world mentality extrapolated over a decade and a half later looks very much like online in my mind.

Speaking of dark and serious takes on Vice City, it exists and it's called Scarface. VC is a light and goofy version of Scarface, essentially.

Gta 2 was set in the future from when it was produced. Anywhere City's future version was 2013, iirc. So maybe the events of GTA online are running concurrently with GTA 2 with Zaibatsu having no control over the state of SA. Carcer City and Anywhere being more extreme than Liberty, Vice, and Los Santos.

All that said, I love the Up-n-Atomizer. I wish I could change its color and tint😞

I get the vibe that this weapon will get a major nerf at some point, in some form.

Enough people will flood R* support with complaints that it'll either end up with a 10 second recharge time or a damage output equal to a snowball.

yep. just like they cried and cried until R* ruined all/most other guns. OP this OP that waah waah.

Shooting cop helicopters on top of buildings during Most wanted is way to much fun, noose cops fall of and fly up in to the rotors. !

This gun breaks games physics 😂

Last night I was doing Transporter in a public lobby while wasting time between Arena matches.  Some asshole decided to try stopping me, but he was such a bad driver that he couldn't catch up until I got to the delivery point.  I saw a sticky-throwing arm pop out of the window, but my Atomizer flipped his car before he could throw it.  I flipped his car a few more times for good measure, and then he got out to try starting a gunfight!  One more shot and he flew about 20 feet into the air before splattering dead on the ground.

I love this gun.
