Reyvar
I honestly can't decide how I feel about these. On the one hand, I appreciate the random breaks from the regular open world. Randomly deciding that, sure.. I'll compete against two dozen other people in an impromptu archery contest, can certainly be fun. At the same time though, being transported across the world and then left there at the event's completion kinda seriously makes me never enter these events.. especially if I'm transporting pelts (good god, will they ever fix horses?!) It'd be like if WoW's group finder just left you in the dungeon or battleground at the end of a random queue, and hearthstones aren't a thing so have fun walking. On the other hand, these events are a complete sh*t show. Throwing several dozen players into a small area and then encouraging them to do something like shoot arrows in every direction is more or less certain to lead to utter chaos. Especially since PvP is still enabled, and most players just run around blowing away everyone else. I can't even really fault them, as it's pretty decent XP if you're mowing through players quickly. Then you get events like King of the Hill where blowing away everyone else is the whole event. In a single match I think I got headshot 3 times in a total of about 15 seconds, and managed to headshot a half dozen other players in a single 15 second stretch before I went down. Part of me feels like they're the absolute best part of RDO - a total sh*t show of chaotic PvP that I really don't care to even try to "win" and instead just laugh at and enjoy.. but at the same time, they're the worst part of RDO - a total sh*t show of chaotic PvP that I actually want to do reasonably well in to get the rewards I need to progress. Now that I think about it though, that's more or less true of every part of RDO aside from the story missions. IamCourtney
Callahan44
I want stressfree events like get most perfect pelts, shoot most flying birds, catch most fish, travel biggest distance etc. They should just start where you are. The existing ones suck. Tiny maps, lots of players, often 1 target for too many players,no one even tries to ptfo, winning is 80% luck..its a mess. A kill or death every 2secs... chef_archie, fejkb and IamCourtney
Reyvar
I can say one thing for certain - I don't like King of the Hill in Saint Denis. The load times for a respawn are 3-4 times longer, leaving you staring at a black screen for long periods. It's far closer fighting than an open map as well, favoring shotgun play over rifles far more.. which isn't really what I do.

I enjoy only that one event where you have to get most points by shooting targets with your bow. Events shouldn't be all about pvp, because showdown series are. I would like to see what you said being implemented in the game. Maybe even PVE showdown series with all such activities? Send that to R* via their feedback page Stretch188

Send that to R* via their feedback page I dont think its need its own series, its would just fit really good for freeroam. Gta also had a "most headshots" mission but it didnt put you in a tiny area, which is the real dealbreaker for me. Honestly, wheres the difference between showdown series and freeroam events atm? If you put everybody in one spot that doesnt have much to do with "free"roam imo. fejkb
StandardDonkey
It amazes me how many people pay zero attention to the actual rules of the event. I'm terrible at pvp, and I've won quite a few Dispatch Rider events because I only concentrate on getting the horse to the location. While everyone else is just blasting everything that moves DrKrankenstein
CrimsonFolo
laughable events at best imo, everyone one shots everyone anyway so not much point to them.
Stretch188
I stay away from most of them except Master Archer. Its too bad cause even that one gets ruined by trolls blasting you away with shotguns. I feel about them the same way I do about pretty much all the PVP in RDO - wow, this would be so much funner if people were using guns and not handheld homing bullet launchers. Tez2
They should have done events like the ones in GTA Online where you don't have to do "PVP". You can participate wherever you are in the map like start a mini horse race event where it track your speed and reward you with gold nuggets and cash. I agree that the part where they move all the players to a tiny arena was unnecessary. Making it so that every player need to travel to a certain point in the map isn't the solution because it will rise another problem where no one participate in those events. My solution is to not spawn us exactly where the event is taking place, but rather somewhere where it's not far from the event area. The time it takes every player to reach the event area should be equivalent to the time it takes to start the event. That way, no one is able to camp in the event area.
