It seems that it follows a similar pattern as GTA:O's contact missions. There is a min/max pay and there is a point on both ends where you are wasting your time. With there being a sweet spot in the middle. GTA:O contact missions payout 50% of max pay for the first 4 minutes. To get the other 50% you need to spend another 11 minutes in the mission. By the time you ran one missions for max pay, you could of ran 3 for 50%, or 150% of max pay. IF your play style fits it, it's better to run multiple quicker missions as the difference is $119,286 an hour for 4 minute missions vs $74,554 an hour for 15 minute missions. So far, with what limited data I have, this is what I've tracked with RDRII:O. Now keep in mind I am limited on my data as I only have complete data for 30 mission runs. And I'm combining all data for all Story missions, and some may have higher base pays than others. As I get more and more information, I'll be able to draw a much clear picture of what the pay scenario actually is. Reveal hidden contents Time Gold GoldperMin 6.75 0.04 0.0059 7.4 0.04 0.0054 7.5 0.08 0.0107 11.4 0.08 0.0070 11.5 0.12 0.0104 14.4 0.12 0.0083 14.5 0.16 0.0110 16.5 0.16 0.0097 People can lie, but math, oops, didn't see the flag... but maths doesn't. Details dont really matter, only if you wanna play the most efficient way. But thats something i dont really want. it shouldnt be complicated, payout should just always be the same. Easy and fair. I didnt make sense in gta,it doesnt make sense in rd.

What I found with GTA:O was the efficiency point happened to be the same time as just normally playing the mission (most missions take ~4-6 minutes). Not rushing, not waiting, just playing normally. And the payout system actually makes perfect sense for GTA:O, and RDR:O. Not every mission takes the same amount of time, nor is every player going to take the same amount of time to complete a mission. So by creating the system that they did, there is very little difference in the pay between missions (if played normally). Where as the system before people only ran one or two missions because they could be completed the fastest. And hopefully it isn't lost, but the point I'm trying to make is that it's just better to take however long it takes to complete the mission, instead of waiting for max gold. Just play the game, play the missions, don't focus on waiting for timers. Doing so not only isn't financially efficient, but it can also kill the enjoyment of gameplay. TyrionV
If you’re doing stranger missions where there’s a timer, you can pretty much finish the objective but don’t hit the marker and let the clock run down. Sometimes you can have 15 mins spare to go hunting or just muck around. If if there’s no timer just make sure you take around 12-15 mins per mission. When you then finish the payout is approx $20 and up to 500xp.

I thought I could get it in the hut behind Manzanita Post, but last time I went there I either overlooked it or it just wasn't there. There's a select few spots where I've found it, but I can't remember any of them. I'll try and remember to pen some down next time I find it. 21 hours ago, aurther61287 said: The peasants still care about gun oil and consumables. In time it takes them to loot a house I've killed and skinned 3 perfect herons for a grip more money. There are two fallacies in this one line. One: You seemed to overlook the fact I'm Dutch, so I see it as a challenge to get my sh*t for as free as possible. Two: Hunting and looting can be very easily combined. It's not just Herons that bring in the bucks. 23 hours ago, Callahan44 said: Guns cant break, theyre just a bit better if theyre clean. Its not that important...and shooting 1 large good bird is worth more then 3 gunoils anyway. Yeah, you're right. But the declining meters are doing to me exactly what Rockstar intends them to do: Get my decling-meter-OCD flashing red. It's probably just in my head too, but I feel I notice a difference when they're clean. 20 hours ago, aurther61287 said: This game is insanely grindy to get anything To be honest, I've got money coming out of my ears by now and the only grind I'm experiencing is the one for XP so I can get to stuff to spend that money on. 5 hours ago, aurther61287 said: Think about how long a casual will take to get anywhere in this game. Playing maybe couple hours a week. I kinda figure one of those filthy casuals will just pick up the game in a free hour when those bastard kids are finally to bed and have some fun busting heads in a couple of Showdowns. It's us fanatics that Rockstar looks at for possible monetization. No casual is gonna give a hoot about a sombrero. 3 hours ago, Callahan44 said: Thats not what i was expecting to see in this thread lol. In that case, welcome to the forum. Any thread will eventually go one of three ways: 1. Cockstar sucks (but I know this because I'm still playing the game) 2. We're being exploited for money 3. I know all the things better than you and here's why. ;o)
Scuba 21
If you're looking for gun oil there's a spot on right side of "Ambarino" on map. Zoom in and you'll see small square representing it. It's also a gang hideout when applicable. there's one gun oil outside on crate and another in chest directly to left of entry door. change sessions few times and your set. The Wandering Hunter
i hunt and explore during story missions. you need 2 friends as matchmaking is broken and adds in a random who must be kicked (i feel a little bad but if the setting worked i wouldn’t have to) start the second low honour mission (forgot the name, not the train one) kill everyone in the fort using your preferred method to maximise xp, then complete all additional objectives until you must “return to the crossroads” avoid death at all costs, i’m convinced it lowers the payout then start a 30 minute timer and hunt or explore or slaughter cops, sell all your pelts then race your possee members to the yellow dot (only one must arrive there) you then get about 1k xp and £40 in addition to your hunting other missions work work too but you must hunt before completing any objectives which risks losing your payout TyrionV
