Similarities between Arena Wars and Anderius

Am i the only one who gets reminded of the gta san andreas modification alien city when i play the Arena wars?

For some reasons the design of the new vechiles, clothes and maps is in some way similiar to that of the mod. It just gives me the same vibe when i'm playing one of the new modes, this may probably be because they mashed up a bunch of different styled content into one package (which is the same deal for mod since they used a lot assets from other games) and the new alien content is definitely a major supporting factor.

It may possibly be that some of the design developers have had some small inspiration from the mod but i think that's a bit to far of a stretch, it still doesn't make it an improbable fact though.

What do you guys think?

IMO, I don't think that R* got inspired in this specific mod for the Future Shock theme in Arena War, yet I recognize that they do take inspiration from some mods, like for example, Cunning Stunts was obviously inspired on similar races that were popular on SAMP and GTA IV Multiplayer:
