Img 2.0 doesn't run on windows 7?

I wanted to know, how can I add in a dff and txd file on windows 7, the img program doesn't work on that system.

Hey! use Alci's IMG Editor instead. You can also use Modlaoder to avoid the need of replacing or rewriting files of the game. By the way, since you're not telling us which game are you modding, I'm just assuming it's GTA SA.

Oh I see, Modloader is still an option  this tool called IMG Factory seems to be a solution too. I don't have GTA VC so I can't test it by myself but by following the description I can say that it's a good alternative to the outdated IMG Tool.

I do have vice city on the XP system I have, just since I have it working fine on windows 7, a optiplex 780 desktop, the tower variation, not the tower, but a small form factor tower which is bigger than the small form factor model. Intel core 2, integrated graphics, may as well put it to use instead of switching over to the old system. Not great for games, but runs the old stuff fine.

 

Thank you for the link, how ever it freezes when trying to open the gta3 image file.

 

Probably because there is no 4.5 and the C++ files.

has the ability to open files txd dff and gta 3.img
and also works on vice city and gta 3

txd is only to change textures for a txd file, not to load dff into gta3 image?

txd workshop has 2 sections to open txd
and to open gta3.img and export or import files
click the open img tab and then the action tab
unless you've already done it

I did open the img file, what I can't seem to do is save any additions to it? Only errors.

 

I was able to add in a txd, then dff file, a few textures weren't listed, and then I could save the img file. But the game still froze for me. Not sure what is the cause of that.

because
you must change
names of your txd and dff on such as are in gta3.img
I do not have a vicecity I do not have how to test it
and after that the modloader plug is also for gta vice city
I've installed a modloader plugin in gta vice city
it works

That has worked to run the program, compatibility mode.

While the program works, the game doesn't work once the files have been loaded in and the img file is built.

Now I'm getting file access denied errors on the xp systems I have when using img 2.0 to just replace a txd or dff file. I'm confused as what has caused that, and this is after a reinstall after the game, or existing files. That hasn't happened before.

Img tool is the first tool made for img archives, but it’s absolute worse. Much better tools have been made after all these years.

 

I’ve always used this:

Old tool, but works very well. You’ll need the old .Net Framework 3.5. Just make sure to rebuild archive after editing. Note that it may not work if you’re editing from the installed directory since programs don’t have permission to edit files in Program Files folder

img tool is worst sh*t ever nowadays, use IMG Factory or IMG manager

I tried img 1.3 for GTA 3 on a partition of XP, no access to file to replace a txd for the Mr Whoopee vehicle.

 

I don't get the img factory or the other one, I used img 2, for a little while, what happened with all of this, more than one partition and computer, and still the same rubbish.

 

The only mod I have was two two, one for vc, and 3 just txd change, and a model change for vc with. I do have a SA mod, but SA is locked, so I'm not bothered with that.

 

I'm just quite puzzled about vc at the moment. I thought may be I can give my mod to somebody on here, and just up, actually that isn't permitted here. But yes, I'm confused as to what causes this problem.

I personally prefer IMG Factory,itself as few others already mentioned.But that compact binary IPL Editor looks nice to have for a quick edit in the IMG Manager tough.
