KingBen Posted December 20, 2018 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I’m trying to break down one of the Muskies I caught in order to store more fish on my horse. The game won’t let me do it though. anarquista_duval Posted December 20, 2018 Share Posted December 20, 2018 I've caught a couple of big fishes that you can't store in the sachel but never saw an option to "break down", only pickup / stow in your horse. Was wondering how to do this just last night--thanks! Actually very helpful to break down that pile of Muskies into something sellable that you can't otherwise carry in one load on your horse. Shooting a fish (e.g. Rock Bass) lessens its resale value, but(!) lets you stow another 10 of the same "Poor" type (i.e. the game limits you to 10 Rock Bass and 10 "Poor" Rock Bass). I always thought it was beyond dumb we couldnt catch more than one large fish at a time so this helps out as i usually have 5 Muskies laying on the ground behind me when im trying to catch more lucrative fish. You just go to inventory in satchel, go over fish and it'll say you can break it down. Right on the spot. That was like a week or two ago from memory. Also, I believe breaking down fish is also how you make fish food at campfires. Haven't tested it yet. After you break them down the fish goes in your inventory just like any other meat you get from hunting. People might be confused to this, because if I remember correctly in story mode, once caught any fish could immediately be cooked without having to break it down first.
