What would you spend Gold on? (Community question)

Now that we know the cost of Gold,  what could R* add to the game for you to be willing to spend it?

I personal never got into the shark card spending,  so i don't really know what could motivate players to spend real money in rdro.

But I'd love to hear what the community thinks..

Edit **

Looks like i wasn't clear enough,

i wanted to know what the community whould want added to the game that they would be willing to buy gold to get..

Not what's already in the game...

I've bought cheaper stuff so far, nothing more than 3 bars at a time. Right now the only thing I could see spending a lot of gold on is a great horse. I didn't buy UE so I really have to rank up to get one. I'm not into the camp upgrades except for the tents maybe so yea a horse.

Pressure Drop

Got 30 free bars from Rockstar, and bought the one time offer of 25 bars for half price. That's more than I'll ever need. Gold won't help you buy a horse, you still need to be the required level, and most weapons are the same. I've bought the fingerless gloves, made my pump action silver, bought the off-hand holster to dual wield early, and also unlocked a couple of clothing items early. I still have 47 gold bars but nothing else is worth it imo. 112 bars for a fast travel post at camp, which you then have to still spend money to actually travel anywhere... yeah I don't think so lol.

If there were more clothing options I would spend more gold on that if I had to, but no way am I going to waste it on customising every gun. I want the Turkoman horse but it's locked to level 56. I would probably buy that with gold if it were possible. But the free thoroughbred is coming soon to Xbox I believe, and the high roller pistol. Not even any weapons I am interested in, every little kid out there is racing for the semi auto pistol or mauser, which makes me really not want those.

I don't want to spend more money on the game, spent enough.

The more they lock behind gold, while offering 0.xx nuggets per job/task, the less I want in game so it actually is taking the game further away from me. Especially as all but 8 missions are potentially PvP.

As it stands, there's not a single item I want. No need to add to camp, it's broken. No need for gun upgrades, I'm PvE (plus my Varmint rifle dominates). No need for fast horses, I dislike the GTA races too much. No need for a woolly jacket even, still cold up north.

They'd have to offer so much for me to line their pockets. I prefer to play, not pay. But this is a good way to squeeze the legitimate players that are freeloaders/leechers out, as that is the aim.

They should listen to players feedback before the money grabbing began, but those Christmas sales were too tempting to address than the actual gameplay.

Edit. Misunderstood.

I wouldn't spend real money on gold to buy anything at all.

I got impatient for a second holster so I spent 2g to buy one early. Aside from that I'm just hoarding while I take a wait and see approach. I'll be more willing to spend once I have more info in hand. I'd also be more willing to spend it on clothes if we had a reasonable number of outfit slots but as things stand now it ain't worth it. One spot is already taken by a cold weather outfit and the other two are filled with some cash purchased stuff. I'm not gonna be heading for a wardrobe every 20 minutes for more variety.

Cosmetics.

Ideally the DLC should be free new progression (guns, ability cards, camp upgrades, houses,  etc etc) to further your character and a mix of cosmetics you can buy with in-game cash and/or gold.

I have zero issue with spending money on cosmetics when I have a reason to play.

I've already bought some clothes (don't remember, possibly no-fingers gloves), nickeled Schofields and red Ardennes horse. Wanna buy Bison fur Coat, but didn't reach level yet. So, that's all for now.

I bought the second holster early and a shirt for gold. But I hord the rest. If you do not like the premium currency, vote with your feet. Give a small signal to Rockstar, I will not buy your cr#p.

Micro transactions influenced gta in a negative way. Because everybody keeps on buying Shark cards, for Rockstar the system is not broken.

Solid Scorpion

I think I had 35 or something they handed out. I have 8 left, blew it all on clothing, a belt and a off hand holster.

I very much doubt I'll buy any, I'm a patient man, if it means grinding 3 years for a hat so be it.

Ranches, sizable ones at permanent locations to be specific. I might pay a few bucks if it meant my camp didn't up and move all the way across the map for no fxcking reason.

Other than that? I'm not sure. I hate hate HATE the PVP in this game (and FxCK hunting/fishing, there are games devoted solely to those that do it wayyyyyy better) and LOOOOOVE the PVE, so unless there's some significant addition of PVE content I probably won't be playing anyway.

Possibly limited access to (or ownership of) a hot air balloon, or some other kind of primitive aircraft. Possibly.

I miss flight in this game, but knew what I was getting into...

Truth is, other than the Semi-Auto Shotgun, I have most everything I want in this game... except for traps. I love the idea of having portable bear traps you can set, and (possibly) some hidden pit-traps (ala Single Player) around any property you may eventually own.

Just in case Rockstar runs out of ideas, they can always pick through this list for some more relevant items.

But (with the exception of the aircraft), all these items should be rank-locked and purchasable with cash.

I've seen some interesting uses of gold lately. Lots of interesting outfits that cost up to about 10-15 gold. I think I'm going to go that route.

Colt 1851

Bison

zebra

unicorn

Rdr characters clothes like arthurs hat, dutch' suit, johns cowboy outfit,

all of johns rdr1 outfits because everything in online is terrible.

Baking soda and. Toothbrush to whiten these characters teeth.

i just hope rockstar doesnt dissapoint when they add more clothes. We asked for a poncho and nothing. Spiderman people asked for tobey maguires suit last week and got it this week. Cockstar knows what we want, they just play too much tbh.

Definitely a second character slot

Various types and grades of bows

Portable/personal camps

More rifle scopes

These four are my top picks

I would pay $20, maybe even $30 total for:

Hardcore free roam, just like RDR1.

Grab the Bag, Hold Your Own, and Gold Rush game modes from RDR1.

Ability to adjust the number of teams in the current PvP modes.

PvP modes start with a showdown/Mexican stand-off, like in RDR1

The announcer from RDR1.

Liars Dice.

Poker.

Basically I want the great things from RDR multiplayer brought back into RDR Online. Do that and I'll think about putting real money into the game.

I'm tempted to spend twenty gold on the outfit that includes the yellow Buffalo Jacket. The outfit is an eyesore, but the jacket by itself is a level ninety five unlock.

Only cosmetic items. I don't know why they locked such random things like teeth, pocket watches, fingerless gloves and duster coats behind gold, but, oh well, at least none of those impact gameplay. I don't like how they locked horses behind gold, but, good thing I got a free arabian.

For 120 more gold, Cripps will throw a turret gun on that bad boy!

(Joke of course... For now.)

I just don't think we should be giving Rockstar ideas. Microtransactions are the devil and I want to ignore them as much as possible.
