anyway, there's this:

One of my biggest questions/b*tches about the setting/timeline of RDO involves the Wapiti Indian Reservation in Ambarino.   As an NA; and as someone playing an NA online character; and as someone who's been looking for NA representation in games since, like, Frogger; I gotta say one of the first things I did in RDO was to ride up to the Wapiti rez to see if I could get some sweet Stranger missions with Rains Fall and/or Eagle Flies, since the free roam story takes place in 1898, before RDR2 begins.

Lo and behold, the camp is not there.  The agency has long since been abandoned, and the tribe has presumably moved north to Canada with Charles Smith, since, you know, that's the only reason the rez was abandoned at the end of RDR2 single player and now there's not one frickin' NA in RDO, except those we try to create as player characters (raises hand).  At least there's a stagecoach stop there, because, you know, that's exactly where you want a stagecoach to fast travel to -- an abandoned Indian reservation in the middle of frickin' nowhere with absolutely nothing to do in the general vicinity except sit by a dead tree and wonder where all my homies is at.

Am I bitter?  lolno

So yeah, I've been grilling Rockstar about this for awhile now, with no response.   So the other day, for gits and shiggles, I submitted it as a bug ticket to Support.   "Missing an in-game item in Online:   The Wapiti Indian Reservation."  🤣🤣🤣

reHq1ux.jpg

Of course, I didn't expect a response.

I got a response.

Gl8bNvp.jpg

Now that I've picked myself up off the floor and laughed so hard my chest hurts, imma need to send R* a video to show in-game missing item #28742:  Wapiti Indian Reservation

"Okay here you see some rocks...and some trees....pretty sure that's dirt or mud....and here's another tree.  But no Indians.  Look, here's the map, says 'Wapiti Indian Reservation.'  Do you see any Wapiti Indians here?  Are they, like, hiding behind the trees or what am I missing"

#RacistsGonnaRacist, but they can already do that in plenty of towns and cities against other ethnic communities if they want to get their Trump on.   I'm not worried about that anyway, since they'd be NPCs and respawn infinitely and get to slaughter the trolls back again and again and again.

I just want my damn Wapiti back.   This is 1898, not 1899.   Get with the program, Rockstar.

"We can't include Native Americans in the game because racists will treat them bad" has got to be the dumbest f'n argument I've ever heard, and it's one that Rockstar has never on any occasion ever tried to roll out.   The only times I've seen that nonsense brought up is on this forum.   Pretty much the entire world map is available in RDO in exactly the same format as SP, with an 1898 setting.   Except Wapiti.   There is not one rational excuse for it.    Native Americans...WE Native Americans...are as much a part of the Wild West landscape as horses, six-guns, and Monument Valley.   Rockstar finally threw us a bone with the rez and the well-written, well-balanced saga of the Wapiti tribe....and then yanked the bearskin rug out from under us again in Online.

I'm not taking any excuses.   Them's the facts, kek.   Put that in your Kool-Aid and drink it, bud. 🖐️

Did I state that? Or are you providing me with my position?

Spoiler

I never voiced an opinion on if they should be in Online or not. All I said was that they will get massacred within a day of being released online. Which, if you've been on the internet long enough, you would know to be true.

It's "fake news" that people do f*cked up things on the internet for a multitude of reasons?

Putting aside political crap for a moment - it is very lazy now that I think of it, that the reservation's abandoned years before ... Well, years before it actually was abandoned.

More missions, content, and so on with them - I'd welcome that.

I can understand why it might be vacant now. But I would like to see them add a community up there in RDRO which includes a butcher.

Also, possible location for a stranger mission who gives you quests to hunt... legendary animals.

And if ever added, it would be a good location for a trapper.

Also... Mexico pls and dressage with more horse stuff because, orgullo hispano.

It is when it's reported about ad if every player and their gramma is doing it when it's actually a small very few.

Example the whole "killing the feminist"  thing.. the article writes as if everyone was going around killing them when in actuality it was one streamer

Hate to say it, but Cali's on the money. R* puts Wapiti into Online, players massacre them, internet explodes with click-bait "R* loves them some genocide" articles, R* has to comment/take action/get involved in that ridiculous sh*t. Look what happened with the Suffragette in St Denis.

I do think it's a little precious that we freak out over killing any particular group in a game where one can slaughter literally countless humans and animals, but totally understand why R* can't be bothered dealing with the backlash.

Since they went through and made a bunch of other changes to the map it is interesting to see the Rez in the "after" state, instead of in a "before" state. Maybe the wood buildings would stay, but no teepees, etc. (The wood buildings have vines growing all over them, suggesting they have been there for quite some time).

A butcher/trapper (use a single person) would be good up there. On the topic of Legendary Animals, you can find them in Online, kinda. The mission "Where Your Morals Lead You" there is a Legendary Wolf you can kill on top of a rock. It leaves quickly, but you can get it.

That is one of the strangest things about the Suffragette hubbub, the media completely ignores the positive missions with them, completely ignores all the whypple it makes fun of, completely ignores you can kill everybody, and ignores how generally in the game America is the bad girl.

Meh, it's 2018, Year of the #MeToo. Hyperfeminism is trending hard, so you so much as look sideways at a woman and the internet witch hunt begins (and I hope the irony is not lost 😁). Destroys reputations, ends careers. Hell, I'll probably get some flak just for saying what I have.

It is amusing, tho. Lasso a male NPC, drag them along behind you, hogtie them and feed them to a gator, no problem. Oh, you did that to a female NPC? MYSOGINIST! PSYCHOPATH! BURN THEM!

For the record, Sufragettes did in fact cop a lot of sh*t, including assaults. Some of them were pretty badass, were more than happy to fight back, and were pretty good at it. And they won in the end so every American woman who chooses not to vote is far more offensive to Suffragettes than me and my lasso could ever be.

And here... we... go!

Maybe they are still living free? as in, maybe this is way before they had to go to the reservation?

They did mention that the treaty had been broken multiple times before.

No one has mentioned that in SP you couldn't draw your weapons or even ride your horse if I recall. That would work online as well. Maybe along with a butcher a place to trade game and herbs for NA related items. IOW something interesting as opposed to nonsense like Cripps, crappy camp sites and ability cards.

Isnt the (online) game set in 1898? Chief Rain Falls tells Arthur that the indians were being slowly hunt down by the government for years, but before the start of rdr2 story the reservation must have been already there. Or somewhere close, on some oily place before being forced to Wapiti. Chief says, “we’ve signed peace treaties, and those treaties were broken; we have been moved and punished; punished and moved”.

If they weren’t in Wapiti in 1898, they must’ve been close around, before being “moved and punished” once more I guess.

But yeah they must be in the game imo.

What *did* happen with the Suffragette in St. Denis?

Some idiot posted a Youtube video, the Department of the Easily Offended Department put it in BuzzFeed News for a couple of days, and Rockstar responded by....not doing a damn thing.   The suffragette(s) are still there, you can still hogtie them all you want if you want, but for 99.9% of players -- even those with strong feelings on either side of the whole "women should have the right to vote" controversy --- it doesn't matter to them one way or another.    Plus, MSM completely ignored that the bulk of the suffragette stories in RDR2 was a positive mission about Arthur helping the suffragettes march in Rhodes.

Would half-wit griefers shoot up the Wapiti rez constantly?   Absolutely.   Do half-wit griefers currently shoot up Valentine, Blackwater, and St. Denis constantly?   Absolutely.  Who gives a crap about the politics of that, right or left?  I don't, and I LIVE on a frickin' reservation IRL.  I'm talking about a place that makes sense in the game from a timeline perspective; Wapiti's current status actually retcons a major part of the story campaign.   That's ignorant.   And, as PF pointed out above, it makes sense from a gameplay perspective to open the rez up to butchers/trappers and Stranger missions.   God knows Ambarino needs more reasons to visit in Free Roam than just two dinky quest-givers and a safe place to avoid short-attention-span griefers.

I'm just hoping they get placed there with a future update at the very least, considering i feel like that region is kinda dead/boring without them. No one should get uppity if they are added in online and are killed. Plently of lawmen in the game get massacred on a daily basis as well as other folks. No real reason to not put them there.

Totally thinking to myself last week when I was killing cops... Fox news would go ape with this.

'Gamers, leveling up and being encouraged to kill the police!'

First and foremost to the news media. Listen up, my honey bunny bumble bee... 'gamers' are fully aware all of this.... is digital make pretend doesn't exist fairyland. We're shooting a piece of code in a piece of software set in a fictional world.

Also, would be heckin radical in the rez in RDRO was a thing and there were no weapons allowed. It'd be like, a lil slice of heaven.

This topic seems like a really weird attempt at bait. That said, along with the political sh*tfest it was turning into, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull the plug on this one.
