Some Showdown maps are WAY too big...

Anyone who frequently joins PvP matches has probably played "Most Wanted" on the Tumbleweed map, right?

How much time did you spend running towards the action instead of actually being involved in it? 😐

Imo autoaim is closely linked to this problem. If you run 20secs and then die instantly, thats not fun. I think with freeaim it wouldnt be nearly as frustrating.

Anyway, the tiny maps in freeroam events are my biggest complaint regarding mapsize. Not saying everything else is good, but the freeroam events just suck.

Lock on aiming is the main issue, bit I disagree. I really like the map sizes, so it isn’t just cod Wild West.

Yeah, there are no too big maps imo,but a few are too small. Especially freeroam event maps, its such a clusterf*ck,a kill or death every 1-3 seconds. Most freeroam events should just start without putting everyone in one spot. And even those that need it like king of the castle need a bigger area or other improvements...but thats another story.

Some real long races with checkpoints that you can get in random order is also something i want to see,in best case with random checkpoints each time.

Yep, the FFA maps are way too big. Most of the time there is no point in running towards any action because you will just end up shot in the back. I just keep running around my spawn and kill any players that come towards me or spawn around me. In Tall Trees I constantly keep running out of stamina. An unlucky spawn point can decide whether you win or loose the game since these maps are so spread out and there is no central point in which whole gunfight takes place. You can be spawned on the very edge of the map where no gunfight takes place and waste loads of time just wandering around looking for players to kill.

Biggest problem imo is that whenever you respawn and start running towards some goddamn action, the next person to get killed spawns behind you and gets a very easy auto-aim kill.

I agree, the maps are very big. I think it's okay for the Large Showdowns but not for the Small/Regular Showdowns.. And most of the time during Free-for-alls, you respawn really far away and other times you respawn right by someone else..

The Free Roam Events are massive kill fests even before the match begins lol everyone is slaughtering each other and wasting ammo for no reason while waiting for the match to begin. And then when it does begin, the slaughtering is still going on but now in the direction of the objective. Some of the Free Roam Event areas are actually a decent size, it's just everything is focused on the Horse, the Bag, the Castle, etc. But then other Free Roam Events like the Master Archer or the Longarm Weapon Kills are in small areas.

Yeah, exactly. You need to constantly change directions and look around yourself or run in circles.

Large showdowns are equally bad or even worse.

These just remind me those awful custom created jobs in gtao. Just a plain box with sh*t-ton of spawn points inside and the average lifespan shorter than the time it takes to respawn.

My character is going to the next Olympics thanks to all the running in deathmatches.

And also, he's gonna apply to the new show "How many times can you get killed when another player spawns behind your back?"

Personally, I think the Large Team Showdown maps are okay but the Large FFA Showdown maps can be a bit excessive though.

And the Free Roam Events are a huge let down, I hope Free-aim will spice those events up later on.

I also hope there are actual World Events that appear in Free-Roam and not just in a separate instance..

The alternative is too spawn on top of one another like in St. Denis.  Although having to run to a high point target in most wanted is annoying, its way more annoying to be spawnkilled.  And it actually one or the other, I played a king of the castle and seriously, it was the worst thing I have ever seen.  Just a bunch of people spawn killing each other for 10mins. Free aim could help but still spawnkilling would still be a thing, because player will camp close spawns.

I wish the blips were just off or on so its actually competitive, half the time, you are getting shot, you cannot really tell if its the guy on your minimap or some other guy lurking off radar for you.  The only one that seem truly competitive is knock out, yet its ruined by having to wait for someone to win.  If you are first out, its actually the worst mode.

Yea it seems like there is no good spawn style. No matter how they do it there is always an issue. My favorite game for spawning is the first modern warfare but the maps had a big part to play in that.

This annoys the hell out of me, last match I played (and last I plan on playing for some time) I had this happen to me several times, they spawned directly behind me and by the time I even noticed they were there I'd been killed by a headshot with a varmint rifle. This is just amateur game design on Rockstar's part.

Yup.  The map and spawn design is ... off.

You run.

You die.

You spawn.

You spawn kill the sucker in front.

You are spawn killed by the guy behind.

You spawn.

You run.

You run some more looking for anyone.

You shoot, it glitches, you die.

You spawn.

You spawn kill the sucker in front.

You spawn kill another sucker.

You are spawn killed by the guy behind.

Etc.

they made another rdr1 online!

Believe me, it's different in so many ways. Regardless of the same locations like Tumbleweed.

In RDR 1 Tumbleweed sucked. In RDR 2 it sucks even more.

Tall trees feels awful considering the majority of the cover is trees and it feels way too open and large. In a free for all with like 20+ players, i had to run for like a minute multiple times before encountering anyone.

The spawn points are hands down the worst aspect of showdown series. It takes way to long to get back to the centre of the map.

On one hand I'm looking forward to being to create our matches, set weapons, locations and time limits longer than 5 or 6 minutes. On the other - Parkour (shudder). And there is absolutely no need for 6 different teams!!

For most wanted btw, I find it better not to go straight after the highest player but hide nearby and snipe everyone else as there make a mad dash. When I'm most wanted try and find a bottleneck that everyone has to go through and thus kill each other and take out the few that by to stay on top.

I don't think it's too big, but there is one spawn point in Tumbleweed where you spawn all the way to the south of the town. You have to either run around the mountain to the left or run around the mountain to the right, go up the hill, and then run through the bridge. That spawn point bugs me when I'm a couple points give or take around the lead and time is running out. It'd be faster to suicide and spawn somewhere else.
