RC Bandito Appreciation Thread

Recommended Posts

Hazzardtohimself

I'm sure the novelty will wear off, but I can't stop using this little hero.

Simple things like hiding in drainage pipes underneath the road towards the top of the map, jumping off a mountain and seeing how many tumbles I can count before it safely reaches a stop, and the obvious jumping of Police roadblocks (with a personal high-point of 'bonking' off an officer's head on the other side, flipping around and smoothly landing to scurry off again).

It certainly is an odd decision on Rockstar's behalf that the Bandito can be called up from the Interaction Menu, whereas the Drone has to be controlled from a clearly obvious / exposed Terrorbyte. I'm not complaining, but I imagine the tryhards will.

Ok so out last night exploring in the bandito.. going in the back of houses, looking around gardens, making sure not to fall in swimming pools.

I go into this one house and go around back, and this is what I see...

I'm really tempted to get one of these, but I just can't justify the price at the moment(mainly because I spent over $5 mil since the last update on the Mad Max vehicles and muscle cars and still intend to buy the Deviant and Vamos when they release, so I guess the RC Bandito will sit on the backburner for a while.

In my opinion this is way more fun. In fact I sold one of my arena vehicles because I never use them. This I use way more.

Personally I think you're missing out. Personal RC gives no advantage, apart higher hopping perhaps in racing, it's cut out of use for (certain) missions and when you're not the griefing kind of player (neither am I btw), it has not much practical use. BUT, it adds a new dimension to this game. Everything else is scaled up and here you are riding in this little (fast) vehicule, exploring the GTA-map all over again. I'm constantly thinking if I could use my Bandito to do certain things. So in that area, it really adds something.

And TBH, I don't think Rockstar will leave this critter as is. I'm pretty sure they'll expand on it. Why not give extra skins, a special RC-garage, in the (near or further) future… I'm convinced they will, as it will give them more and new ways to sell their sharkcards. Personally I'm not as stoked anymore (as I used to), when a new super hits the Streets of LS. It's more of the same, perhaps a lil better here, or there (or worse), but in general it's just same ol same ol. But RC-cars, while (momentarily) limited to buggies and a van and one single 'garagespot', are something new. I was very stoked when  I first rode it down the street and that hasn't stopped...

Yesterday I saw a player strand his tugboat at paleto bay. I went over to greet him in my lil RC. Drove a few circles around his feet and went on my merry way (could have blown him up, but that's not me). He was surprised and didn't even fire a single shot at me. So save up, and spent it on this.. I

Ah well, I'm a fan, you can tell…Carry on.. 🙂

Not to mention the application of the rc as a tool in battles. You can Flippin disappear in the middle of a battle and relocate yourself or sneak up on your opponent. It has so many applications that we are just scratching the surface but it's a blast... literally!

I love this thing! And I know a lot of people think this thing will be used as a trolling or griefing tool, which I'm sure may happen, but to me I find it a counter to griefing! Anytime I see a threat heading my way I instantly switch to my RC and safely tuck myself away! It's an instant way to hide without having to resort to warping back to the apartment or going into passive mode.  It's also an amazing spy tool, to scope out an area in case of threats, traps etc.  It's everything the Drone should have been.

Yesterday a group of tryhards were EWOing over and over again because they no doubt kept hearing the high pitched whine of my RC lol. It was hilarious cos they kept dropping dead in the street or at the wheel of their cars, without me doing anything at all! Eventually they clubbed together and kicked me from the session lol.

Great fun, and definitely more an anti-griefer tool in my opinion.

Great ideas, I had a guy who kept blowing himself up trying to hit me with an rpg. The best anti-bandito tool is the up and atomizer. But sooner or later you can jump and detonate close enough to get the job done.

I'm slowly turning into a killing machine with my Bandito. It's too darn easy.

This is just my opinion, but I think players using first person or having the camera very close to their character are at a big disadvantage when a Bandito rolls up on them. They don't get a chance to see it coming.

Though it's getting a little off topic, the topless models will actually spawn in a few places around the map, not only at the Grotto. I've seen them at a few late-night Great Chaparral parties and unnamed beaches upstate. They've been around for as long as I've known.

These things are truly fkin amazing.

I recommend that if someone has the slightest interest, then buy it.

You will not be disappointed.

If you already have the arena, then buy it.

If I'd had to pay for the arena just for this I wouldn't be disappointed.

It's so much fun.

If you want to fk with people, it's a dream. If you want to just chill and cruise around it's great cos you can without going passive or having to look out for Harry potters. Even they get it cos you just keep an eye on them and when they land, you pounce.

It's lack of top speed isn't as big a problem as I thought it would be, it has so much grip, and agility. Plus being small, traffic is not the problem it usually is, and after a while you get to know it and can flow through the streets with ease, jumping any occasional objects that might impede your flow. The jump actually increases your top speed slightly so it's worth doing on long straights when chasing people in cars. You will notice a difference, and chasing people has never been so much fun especially if they have seen you and are panicking. But if they haven't seen you, it's quite easy to keep up with most cars around the city.. they don't know you are there and they occasionally crash/stop, so they rarely get away even though they may have X2 the rc's top speed.

I like to be a bit of a vigilante with mine.. look for bullies and then fk with them.

To be honest, it's hard NOT to kill people with it cos you can get into a position to do so very easily. But the fun is in drawing it out sometimes, following them either in secret or actually get in their faces literally and figuratively.

In terms of not just going out killing.. it's a revelation.

You find yourself trying to find things you've never seen and succeeding. It's so addictive. I could just drive it all day, and mostly do right now.

Lights would really help with this, especially out of the bright lights of the city or when exploring dark corners. Of course we should be able to switch them on/off as usual. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect this.. I used to build some RC cars about 10+ years ago I fitted full working lighting systems, (head/side lights, brake lights, indicators, reverse)they are very common these days and inexpensive. I only really want headlights on our bandits so we can see better when we need to. I further personalized all my own sh*t but it's totally realistic to expect them. I wouldn't mind the radio working aswell as I spend so much time in it, and I also fitted some of my RC cars with working sound systems. It can be a bit tedious listening to its little electric motor.. and on that note, I would like to see engine upgrades, they have a basic looking stock can in the back of this, and other details like carbon decks, so the motors need to step up. They could give us a few upgrade options that could be flash looking branded motors, not a $10 motor. They could relate to real motors and feature turn numbers etc, and give us slight increases to top speed... For a price or course.

I would pay.

I WOULD PAY.

More shells, different chassis, upgrades, I want it all. I'll take it all.

Gimme a ten slot RC garage.

That's perfect though lol. If people want to be in first person so they can have an advantage while sniping (wiggling around much faster than everyone else), then they also just have to accept they don't have the same situational awareness.

This guy found that out earlier.

Hit the options button on your controller, go to settings, go to audio and select the radio station you want to listen to. I just checked, it still works. And then I blew up a guy in a Vapid Bullet. :( (lol)

This little toy car has changed freeroam imo.. Yeah, it can be blown up by vehicles but tryhards(on the ground), they get so scared and go straight to passive as soon as they see it. It's great.

Had one do that and hop on a ledge, I jumped up to them and taunted them with the C4 timer.

🤣

I've had two in full tryhard gear walk right up to mine this morning. Yep, big mistake, lol. Maybe they're not smart enough to look at the SouthernSanAndreasSuperAutos site in order to find it. They're looking on Warstock and the Arena War site.

I also tried to drive it into a Poonsby's to claim a bounty, but I got the static screen.

If they walk up, that's fine to me, it's when they shoot that I'll drop a kinetic mine as a warning. If they get up and shoot, kaboom or I'll just deplete the 3. I've yet to kill someone with the mines, which is weird. Just sends them flying.

The mines/grenades on my Sasquatch seem to be stronger.

(Which is also nice to use on trigger happy people. They shoot me, I'll whip around, grenade them and run them over. Sometimes I just sit there and they get confused why I'm not dying.)

I've set them up at stores just for laughs or reactions from people with mics, pretty entertaining. I hide nearby or in plain sight. I sat on the loading dock of Los Santos Customs and watched people drive into my mines trying to go in..

It's just the perfect anti-tryhard tool.

Thank you R* for this wonderful gift. Please don't nerf it. Improve and build upon this.

The absolute worst thing about this vehicle is that we can only have one. (Excluding glitch)

I want to store more even with the few options we have now.

Yep, exactly!  Finally, something to use against these KD Tryhards.  Had one in the session today.  Had a KD of 3. something (who gives a sh*t, right?).  Wearing all black, and heat vision with overlapping masks, helmets etc (the standard unimaginative Tryhard uniform).  Was using his tank to blow up random players.  His tank eventually went kaput and so was on foot again.  I came across in my Savage to attack and as soon as I got close - you guessed it - EWO.  Pathetic.  Fine.  I land, and da dada daaaa - Bandito time.  I race up to the Tryhard, and sure enough, sniper is out and doing the sidestepping - no skill - spamming his sniper hoping a random shot lands on the randoms he's picking on.  Anyway - beep beep beep BOOM, and he's done.  Seconds later, activates passive mode and eventually leaves.

Oh dear, my one kill had a negative effect on his pointless and worthless KD stat.  It's great making them leave the session.  The Bandito has been one of the best things to come to GTAO.  Not only is it a great tool to escape players when they come to attack you, but you can turn it on them and annoy the crap out of them.

Took this little sh*t out for the top speed test..

It seems that anywhere flat ish in the city you can do high 59's, I was managing 59.8 mph at most, never touched 60.

But when you jump(100% boost) you can hit 63mph ish.

I got this up to 67.8 mph when jumping going slightly downhill, maybe a bit more is possible.

UEANf6H.jpg

But as I was saying, people rarely get away as they don't always know you are following them. But I would like to see motor upgrades to take this up to 80 mph.

Edit.

There was a guy out in a gto.. but he didn't beat my gto record so I didn't mind.

I was bothering a random in this last night. He was destroying people's cargo so I Banditoed him a few times to get him really angry.

He warped to his facility and because I was off radar he sent a  strike team after me so he could "Observe Target" and see what i was doing and where I was.

I was blown up by a tank in Zancudo and immediately got a text from said cargo griefer....

Him: "Reported you for mods"

Me: "Ha, why?"

Him: "you're using a modded tiny car"

Me: "Ha, ok".

About 15 minutes went by and he sent another text...

Him: "how can I get a little car?"

Me: "You buy it online"

Him: "What website?"

Me: "Southern San Andreas autos"

A few minutes later....

Him: "Is it called the RC Bandito?"

Me: "Yep"

Him: "Ahhhh thanks"

So the high level oaf spends all his time killing people he doesn't even know what has been added to the game!

I watched him on the mini map, he went to his arena, purchased one, had a little try of it outside then after about 2 minutes got back on his MKII and went right back to mindless destroying of people's product!

Idiot.

Good, and this is the great thing about the Bandito.  Your basic tiny-brained griefer will grow impatient using this thing, as he or she cannot rack up kills fast enough with it, and it's not as easy for them to get kills, as opposed to the easy-mode homing missiles of an MKII or the explosive cannon of a Jet.

BUT, for an anti-griefer, it's valuable.  Because whilst a griefer likes to rack up kills as fast as possible, they simply cannot stand dying even once, and once someone is using a Bandito in their session against them, they soon end up leaving the lobby.

Perfect!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks it would be cool to upgrade the car with more powerfull motor, battery and speed controller.
I was also pretty surprised to see that when the car has all four wheels firmly on the ground it feels pretty close to how my stampede and rustler handles. It's more twitchy for sure, but still surprisingly accurate for a rc car in gta.
