All the good stuff is locked behind rank and/or requires in game cash. I have a lot of gold but nothing to buy. The special saddles are nice as well but some of them can be bought with cash, so no reason to waste gold on them. The best saddle IMO, rattlesnake vaquero is 20.00 gold and better stats than other ones that costs money only. Literally all the special saddles that costs gold have better stats than money only ones. At some point, your horse might reach its limit and I'd rather keep going. Only the stamina regeneration rate would important to me. They're all 24% across the three saddles. Then it's just personal preference and looks. The rattlesnake one looks good on black arabian, matching colours. I only spent about 10-15 bars on gun customisations and a couple of minor early unlocks. I will save the 48 I still have until more things are added. Always buy with dollars rather than gold if you have the choice, unless it's a rank locked item you really want, and if it is cheap gold price. BUT THE BENZ Posted December 31, 2018 Share Posted December 31, 2018 a short personal story: waaay before the game was out (even before the delay I think) I said that I'd spend most of my cash on guns/clothing and let anything else slide (like pimping out your shed from where you run your illegal liquor business or whatever) now I was just thinking, as it is I feel I really hesitate when it comes to spending and asked myself why, or more what I was waiting for?! someone mentioned possible gun additions, personally that's all I'd need aside from more clothing maybe, so I guess I'll keep that in mind. but really I guess the future for red dead will be GTAO-esque at one point and you need like a 25 € store boost to accquire things like sheds or whatever they will tell you is required to play a handful of tacked on game modes - and that kind of gold I will not have, the money for it I will not spend extra. I took that one time offer and spend another 10€, so I got my 50 gold bars "extra". but it was the first and last time probably I will have made a microtransaction, I just love this game and setting too much.... what I tried to say, if you get 30 bars for free now, and 25 bars cost 10 €, then you can imagine a new shed/hideout/bunker whatever in the future will cost you some 100 gold bars at least just to purchase, then some more 25 to 50 if you want some more stuff inside etc...just like in GTAO, you know what I mean. and thus I don't need to save up the "tiny" 30 bars they gave out for free, thinking with those I could save up and jump on new content, nah, the new stuff will be "overpriced" and out of my range anyways. WHATEVER, down to brass tacks, got the game running in the back, hanging in tumbleweed at the gunsmiths' and sitting on 73 gold bars. PS: I guess that leather duster will have to wait, it is 30 bars for me with rank 21, and the duster coat is doing just fine (for now) giving my guns a personal touch alone costs a lot of gold...and I will HAVE to fully blacken-steel that schofield revolver, 12 gold bars or not! 4eyedcoupe 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have only spent 9 bars on 2 ranked locked items, a gunbelt and holster(a couple of beers helped persuade me a bit).
