Dangerously close to Chevy Nova. How did they not get sued for this?

I have 1:24 scale model and to be honest they are nearly identical. It doesn't feel like GTA car anymore, it's more like car-mod. Rockstar creativity is running out.

The GP1 says hi.

Ye GP1 is close too but there are few instantly recognisable differences such as side vents or rear section - these are not from McLaren F1.

Yes all of them shared many styling cues and drivetrains.

The Holden Monaro for sure, but the Opala SS never had a V8, not from factory atleast...Sadly.

They shared the 4cyl engine though.

Damn, and I completely forgot the Nova had one of these...The 70's was not good for the muscle cars at all...

Oddly enough, the 4cyl was mostly sufficient to move the Opala around, probably because of the lighter bodywork, also because the Brazilian customers didn't care so much for speed, but rather fuel economy and reliability.

Actually the 4 and 6 cyl were always available in the Nova, all the way back to '62. Originally it wasn't intended to be a muscle car at all, and was the compact car of the lineup (about the same size of the Opala) but that really changed in 1968 when the body style changed to what we have here, the very typical muscle car design.

Always been one of my favorites, back when I was in middle school my dad had a young man who was working for him who had a '70 SS. Flat black with dual quads sticking through the hood. Funny how little stuff influences your life long after.

Can't wait for this car, too bad it looks like it's last.

I'm just suprised that nobody on this topic asked for Custom build pics yet

Typical of R* to do that but the old saying goes: Good things come to those who wait.

The name ia pretty funny. Nova in spanish is actually said no va which means dont go (speculation says that this was the reason not to sell many cars in mexico). And the name of this car is vamos, which in spanish means lets go.

Actually, just looked it up the other day and it's nothing more than a funny urban legend.

Very nice cars in this DLC, it's a shame the advanced flags ruin the majority -- I won't buy this car, specifically because of that reason. I gave it a 10 though because it is incredibly nice.

Same as the Vauxhall (Opel) Nova - called the Opel Corsa in Spain, but not a name change, since the Corsa actually came first. ;)

As for the Vamos, it really is uncanny how close they got the resemblance. Yeah, this one is definitely worth getting - so that's two cars, then (this, plus the Clique).

Stupid reason. The advanced flags are only 4000 and dont have much of an affect on any of the new cars

Not stupid, 40000 means they bounce all over the place. It's unrealistic, and annoying.

Well I drove the Impaler today and it felt fine even if thats what you call a bouncy suspension lol. these cars are not ruined because of that. iirc older flags were still worse even if these still have bouncy suspension.

For those of us that frequent stunt races the bouncy suspension makes it a nightmare. These cars are ruined because of that, if the only thing affecting these cars was delayed gear shifts it may not be that bad but the suspension makes the whole experience horrible.

I guess I can understand that viewpoint.

Seems like the fine taste for cars runs in the family.

And I had no idea that the Opala was running a Iron Duke, but now that I looked it up, it makes sense that GM would reuse the drive train that they initially used on the earlier Nova for here, it's fairly reliable and easy to work on though it's not exactly fuel efficient nowadays, it's was enough for its time.

You learn something new everyday :)

As early as Jan 1st and as late as Feb 12th. I'll put my money on January 14th.

(Reasoning: the Clique's pic on the Legendary Motorsports website looks an awful lot like a Christmas present, so that release is firmly Christmas day in my book. The rest just depends on how many cars they release at a time during the drip feed)

EDIT: 2/19, WAYYYY OFF

FYI Vamos comes with the Deathproof Livery. No need to use a Crew emblem.

Saves me from putting the crew emblem on the hood

Btw, how much does said Livery cost to put on the car?

This thing has every mod to make it into a full blown drag car, and has the engine sound to match.

Never thought I'd see something like this.

The perfect car?

No idea on mod pricings but im guessing the average 20-40k for each.

Sadly there is no way to put slicks on the back but there IS 2 turbo setups for it and a cosmetic parachute option

Yeah but at least the rear tires are already plenty wide enough to pass as drag radials, unlike the skinny tires so many muscle cars have in this game.
