Red dead 2 online passive mode

Red dead online is so far an enjoyable game, but lacks the ability to pve. Red de online needs a passive mode that allows you to ride and hunt in peace with use of your weapons, but not allow you to shoot other players or be shot by them.

I'd rather invite only lobbies. Then friendly lobbies.

I'm concerned we'll get neither and no passive mode.

Passive mode would mean you can't use your weapons. So you can't do hunting either. Or stranger missions. Not sure about fishing. There just needs to be something like pvp off, then everyone can't hurt each other. But that defeats the point of rival players when doing stranger missions.

Valid points, at the very least they need to make pvp similar to

Fallout 76. Reduced damage until you shoot back.

Passive mode is terrible. It destroys PvP as much as grief destroys the ability to do things in peace. They need three lobby types like the first game: Normal, Friendly and hardcore(freeaim + no blips). The hardcore lobby will not be hardcore in the sense that you die more, but makes it much more difficult to get easy instant kills. So if you enjoy PvP, but also want the ability to run away - the hardcore server is for you.

just make new austin a lawless pvp zone

while the rdr2 part gets stricter towards st. denis. meaning the law gets better aim, killing players has a punishment towards honor or whatever can be done

which wont work of course.

They just need to put bounties if you kill someone.. The more murders you do the more bounty you get and other player will hunt you to get the bounty!

I oppose passive mode every step of the way. Friendly sessions and/or invite only sessions would be much better.

LegendarySaiyan

There should be three different type of Sessions

PvPvE

PvE [Friendly Sessions] (with other players, can't shoot or kill players)

Private

Passive mode in RDonline would see dickheads griefing hunters and fishers by going into passive, scaring away all the animals knowing that the people whose fun they are safe from the reprisals of the people whose time they are wasting.

All we need is the three lobby types. PvP, pve, invite. With the ability to choose aim type for each would make us all happy. Play the way you want n to each their own. Even though this is just “cough cough” BETA online I still have hope but if the game stays like this I just might find another game

I agree with that 100%, this is my last rockstar game if they ruin its potential like the did gta online

GTA had and I mean had great potential until the meme car saints row meets cod we get now. I just dread the day with the magic unicorn farting rainbows n flying trains cuz that’s what some devs 12 year old wants.

People have this weird idea that Rockstar caters to tweens.

No twelve year old wanted to drive Kit from Knightrider, the Spy Who Loved Me Lotus Bond car or the Back to the Future Delorean.  Those were aimed at men in their 30’s who have enough disposable income to shell out for the sharkcards that we’re necessary to buy them.

I dont think Passive mode in normal lobbies will work, if its is like Passive in GTA , because we would not have access to our weapons for hunting etc.

PVE is a little better if players cant kill other players......but grievers could still grieve people hunting by simply following them around and spooking the animals that are being hunted......unless a feature was added to completely remove the player Icon from the map on PVE unless it was a member of your own posse.......this way random players would not no the location of another player

Invite only lobbies is the best solution for people who want to hunt and grind out a living that way

I’m in my 40’s and grew up on Knightrider and the Back to the Future movies (and  The A-Team, Masters of the Universe, Transformers, Star Wars etc).

At no stage was I interested in the Deluxo or Oppressor.

I did get the Batmobile, Bond sub, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) and an A-Team van. I also bought anything else I wanted like a Frankenhearse, Harrier, stealth chopper and a Hind-D. Even with all that flash gear I still spent most of my time fanging around the countryside on my Sanctus.

However at no stage did R* get any of my hard earned dollarydoos as I found the challenge of acquiring these things through game play to be enjoyable. Plus R* already got ample cash from me via two different console versions.

So, yes I have a sh*teload of disposable income but no, I never have nor ever will buy in game currency with real world money. And sharkcards were never necessary to get what you wanted if you have the patience to work for them.

All the people my age I’ve played with were of the same mindset.

Each to their own I guess.

Passivemode sucks. We need bounties and pve servers. But mainly a good bountysystem, you should be able to kill everyone, but you have to life with the consequences!

i still havent bought the deluxo. probably because the  k.i.t.t. was already an impulsive buy that didnt last long. 4 million dollars wasted for a few minutes of fun. that was the last time i bought something with a sharkcard in gta:o

Passive mode and Fallout 76's methods hurt and punish those who do enjoy free roam PvP.

Say you were a PvP fan and wanted to have a good time shooting up like minded people and having shootouts from Blackwater to Van Horn. Now suppose you go 'join game' and find yourself in a lobby with hunters, fishers and pve role players. No one shoots back at you, so you're denied the gunfights you're after. It's just you walking around shooting invulnerable people, no fun and you're not getting what you want. You've been placed in the wrong environment. Much the same way those fishers, hunters and pve players feel they are in the wrong environment when they are fishing, only to be hogtied and killed by someone else.

FO76's system is also open to abuse. Imagine it implemented, I barrel down on you, shoot away, wasting ammo, doing nothing.... boring... I ride away. You then shoot back and kill me. Unfair, not fun, not balanced. Now I might think, good, let's fight! But then... you leave the server for another one. Your KD could theoretically be 100:1 etc. It's open to abuse and ultimately it puts two different player personalities together.

I would much rather we had PvP lobbies and PvE lobbies so people who enjoy one thing can be where they want. Two different lobby types would let each audience get the game experience they want.

Unless the passive mode means you can't inflict damage on other players but you can on anything else.

What this game really needs is a better community of players..

But since that don't happen..

An idea..

Make it that only players with bad honor can be openly attacked in open world..

If you don't want to pvp then you would manage your honor level to be positive and then none can attack you..

If you have bad honor,  then it's open to pvp ..

Give good honor players a light white aura and bad honor get a light reddish black aura to show everyone else their honor..

So you can walk next to a hunting guy, shoot all the time to scare all animals or ruin their quality?

You could but I think that would get boring quickly and I think it would be very rare. Griefers want to kill other players and ruining a hunting trip wouldn't do it for them.

With a good honor system maybe. But as long as youre a good person if you kill every animal you see it doesnt really make any sense.

Yeah lol...i think it gets boring quickly to kill everybody that wants to sell his meat...it would solce one problem and create another one.

Some PvE players also have low honour, due to how they want to play their story.

Also farming XP gives you low honour.

Really don't need to reinvent the wheel here. Just give separate lobbies. PvP and PvE.
