Itali GTO Discussion Thread

This new addition to Grotti is probably the nastiest looking car in the game within regards to how aggressive you can modify it to look. Even stock, it looks perfectly aggressive, has a very low profile overall for its size, and is very well proportioned to boot!

I like how it hops and skips across city streets. It takes some skill and patience to tame this car, as opposed to it just soaking up every bump from a minuscule gradient change in the pavement to hitting massive potholes and metal plates in the road.

It’s got way more character than any other Grotti added up to this point, a close second being the lovely Visione... Hell, I can even see some of the designer’s handiwork in that car too...

Maybe because u installed spoiler? My friend also said that it needs spoiler to make it better.

Well anyone can drive for a while without crashing if they pay attention to what they're doing lol.

Anyway, eager to take Blu Corsa out for a drive again today :)

i know, that's why i asked

it makes sense on XA-21 cus, yuno, engine, and XA has another layer of glass behind it

this thing doesn't have anything to cool in the rear and no additional glass? aerodynamics i guess?

It's probably just aesthetics. Ferrari does typically combine form with function but a few things exist just for pizazz I guess. 😂

So I made a video:

I don't normally drive like this, I'm definitely slower paced. But I felt I needed to hoon it a bit and film it.

Yes the ass dances around a lot as you can see. And at times you can feel and see the car trying to gain traction a lot on bumpy roads while accelerating. It definitely gives this car a scary kind of nature to it. The faster you go, the crazier it gets. But I had yet to crash and again I usually drive at a far slower pace. It did everything I asked it to.

And outside of the bouncing it is a bucket load of fun. The steering is so precise and sharp. There is a touch of understeer that was definitely noticeable cornering at its limit but it was in no way damaging.

So to say this car is undriveable? Hardly. To say it has sh*t handling? Hardly. But again does it ride like sh*t? Oh you bet. But I don't know, the more I drive it the more I get used to it. Still unacceptable for a 2 mil car for it to have that issue but otherwise I don't regret spending the 4.5 mil to purchase and spec two!

So.. after purchasing my 812 super fast, I was beginning to wonder if i would want another one.

It is super fast, but it does have some ride/handling issues. Hopefully there will be a gtc handling pack at some point to make this a great GT car.

Although I have some reservations I can say I like the car overall, and now having taken delivery of my 812 Scuderia, I have a new found love for them both.

It does however remind me of the 599 GTO.. a wild, bucking stallion, with poor road manners, and no Omologato.

Some cars should not wear the GTO badge.

Today I finally caved in and got me one as well. Whilst there is no denying that this thing is more than a handfull to keep in check when moving at speed, this does pose an interesting challenge. Without further ado, here's my GTO in Rosso Dino / Cuoio:

Um... what? Nobody is saying it isn't broken. We're saying it's definitely not undriveable. Flags are mentioned all throughout every one of my posts describing this car so I don't know what you're on about and nobody else is saying this car isn't broke either...

From CarBodyDesign:

The spoiler on the car’s tail also generates downforce. The trailing edge of the spoiler is 30 mm higher than on the F12berlinetta as per the F12tdf. However, unlike the latter, it has not been extended rearwards in depth to avoid changing the car’s dimensions. This has increased drag but is compensated for by the unusual gap at the bottom of the rear screen ahead of the spoiler. This discontinuity causes a separation in the air flow from the rear window, creating longitudinal vortices which boost compression on the surface of the bottom of the windscreen, thereby reducing drag associated with the downforce generated by the spoiler.

When the check engine light comes on, make sure to stop what you're doing and pull over.

It's broken if you understand how handling flags work, broken compared to all the cars prior to SSASS and AH. I never said undrivable, but it is not race worthy due to the flags. Without them, it would EASILY be top of class. Literally all they would have to do to redeem it would be to lower the value of the bouncing flag significantly. I don't understand why you wouldn't want this car to be the absolute best it could be..?

One of the best looking cars in the game for sure. The reverse lights are also pretty cool.

Are you not listening to what I'm saying? Have you not been. Pretty much every damn one has been saying that including me so we have no idea what you're on about lol. Nobody is defending these stupid handling flags. Again, nobody is saying it isn't broken. Every car since the introduction of handling flags themselves is broken if you ask me. The difference between me and a lot of people though is I can stop whining about them and get over it and make the best of my situation. Pessimistic or not, I don't think it will be fixed, there's been enough complaints and Rockstar still ain't listening so, may as well deal with it. If you don't mind the flags, keep the car. If you do, sell it. Pretty much how it goes, pretty much how it's been going since these stupid flags have been introduced.

With all due respect but this "take it or leave it" mentality is how we ended up with so much broken sh*t in the game. Don't get me wrong, the car is not undrivable, but the enjoyment so many people could get from it is tarnished because of the obvious issues it has handling wise. If you enjoy the car as it is, more power to you but it's unfair to dismiss the complains others have about its handling, after all, their opinion is just as valid as yours.

Me? I love the design of the car sans a very few nitpicks (why there's no chromed 3 exhaust option?) but the handling, while manageable, gets annoying sometimes. I had to go back to my free Clique in the meantime, which is a shame.

It especially stings when the shlagen has no flags, yet this does. Same update, no consistency. This releases first. I mean come on.

Me? I'm over here griping about the poor wheel fitment and generic exhaust note. Flags or no flags, I don't race anymore, but these days, cars just need that extra "oof" you know?

Love it, but the flags + light weight.. can't open her up on a straight road without transforming into a supersonic fidget spinner at some point.. Sure would be nice if it was less bouncy.

Funnily enough, the very same advanced flags that turn the Itali GTO into a V12 lowrider, also turn it fast as hell in tubes on Stunt Races:
