I love seeing all the crying about the new unlocks. Oh nooooo you're gonna have to actually play the game to get stuff hahahha it's about time they gave out real rewards. Can't wait to park my tractor downtown with a proxy on it hahahahahaha

You can use any custom car in any game mode regardless of the style of the match. But the non custom vehicles you're given only match the style of the match

Apparently, the host turned off custom vehicles entirely, which was why I couldn't use mine in that match. Happened a couple of times today. I don't know if they did that on purpose, but if you turn off custom vehicles, then turn it back on, you have to scroll back through the list of default vehicles to find your custom ones.

Warning for those wanting to use the Brutus in co-op freeroam & missions:

The Brutus with the equipped front, side & rear blades (the actual saws) is an atrociously inconvenient team killer.

It's gonna take awhile for the majority to be careful when navigating around this vehicle.

I just lost 2 teammates within the first 15 seconds of a mission, as I was going to offer a ride for another teammate.....literally an instant double kill.

I'd make a crude 2 on 1 joke, but this is kinda the opposite of how such situations usually go. 🙄

Anyway yeah it's an incredibly fun vehicle, but you'll find yourself with no effort butchering teammates that don't pace themselves around it.

Remember when the game first came out, teammates would wander into your helicopter blades?....well this is the same but far more...eh frustraing & easier to experience.

& all kills by those blades in missions count towards/against k/d's.

As long as you/other players uses the "enter vehicle button" before walking up to the sides though, the side blades won't kill.

https://i.imgur.com/0po0JFa.mp4

Wish there was an ability to retract the blades on command.

Also to note with the Cerberus on a semi-related non-friendly topic:

If you install the passenger flamethrower, all kills gained by the passenger while using it, count for the driver...rp & kill count.

I've only tested this against hostile npcs in freeroam & missions so far.

YELLOW ZOOMER WITH DRONE

You can use bike melee while on the Deathbike in Carnage and Wreck It, I haven't tried the rest of the other modes yet.

Perfect for dealing with another Deathbike, ironically enough.

Only thing I can think of is shut the engine off through the interaction menu. But yes a hotkey would be nice.

Does the electric fence ram on the Sasquatch actually shock people? Or is it just cosmetic?

True, however the vehicle generally shuts off when I exit the drivers seat & in jobs spawns off.

The issue are those "hey I need a ride moments" or "it'll be quicker if I just ride with you" when other players come up.

The Brutus is a killer on all sides to teammates, to a lesser extent on the sides as long as the player initiates the enter vehicle button.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE the blades otherwise, everything about them on all sides is an advantage, however at the same time in co-op play there's an unnecessary level of caution one must have when in the drivers seat. Over time I know people will catch on, but it occurs I'd say 1/5 missions. Which is way too often given nothing is required on the Brutus driver's part. In free-roam business & vip work, the semi-rushed moments have led to a few allys not taking their time & getting sliced up too.

I played "Cleaning the Cat House". Foolishly I decided to drive up alongside the hotel to trigger Anna/npc to come out to me as my teammates cleaned house. Well......she ran right around, cut down by the back saw. Other than that, out of the 4 hours I played this evening, around 30-35 allied players (business, missions, etc) have been killed by my Brutus' blades.

Also passengers need to watch their step when exiting.

Since the side blades retract when the vehicle shuts off/driver exits, generally the passenger should wait a second.

Otherwise it's a gamble if you are in tight quarters when exiting.

I'll check it out tomorrow, if nobody has responded by then I'll let you know.

Since the Brutus' special/final ram blade is actually an instant kill even with a 1mph tap on any npc or player on foot, I'd assume that electric fence ram works as designed.

However don't buy it on that assumption of mine, wait until someone figures it out.

I'm not crying about the unlock factor personally, in fact I welcome it.

However the unlocks do seem underwhelming, given they are just Pegasus vehicles for recreational use, compared to what was handed to us at the start of this update.

Now if we could change paint on them or store them in a garage, indeed quite the treat to unlock.

In Area Wars if someone is trolling, attacking his own team, running away without delivering flags - just lag the game (the same way you do to get empty lobbies)

I just did that in a match 3v3 and I still relieved 80 AP (after winning one match, not sure if thats nesesery)

Can someone confirm exactly what level you must get to in order to unlock all the trade prices on everything? As it's completely random, I want a worst case scenario in case the one thing I do want to buy cheap is the very last unlock. This is gonna be a grind...

Assuming you won't ever get a cash or RP bonus, 432. This takes into account the Pegasus vehicles you unlock along the way as well.

Here's a list of all 426 unlocks (excludes Pegasus vehicles!!)

yes it really does. but u cant really see the effect as likely the person will likely go under your wheel as u push forward. But u can try running towards it and shock yourself

Anyone tested if the vehicle armor is actually working or is it only cosmetic ?

i have a fully armored sasquatch, it is only good against bullets. 1 rpg or 2 oppressor missiles would destroy it

I love seeing all the crying about the new unlocks. Oh nooooo you're gonna have to actually play the game to get stuff hahahha it's about time they gave out real rewards. Can't wait to park my tractor downtown with a proxy on it hahahahahaha

They should have done this years ago with RP levels. It’s annoying they didn’t past basically 120.

Assuming you won't ever get a cash or RP bonus, 432. This takes into account the Pegasus vehicles you unlock along the way as well.

Here's a list of all 426 unlocks (excludes Pegasus vehicles!!)

  Hide contents

Jeez that's a lot of grinding.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy unlocking things legit as that is what games should be about.  I just don't like the RNG side of it.  A bit sly.

Wow! That's far more than I thought. I was thinking 200-250, lol.

Good to know though, ta.

No Use For A Name

Does upgrading the stock vehicles to Arena change their handling or performance? Interested to know about the Gargoyle, Dominator, and Issi Classic...stuff that gets minor cosmetic changes, not stuff where it completely

changes the auto (IE, Glendale to whatever abomination it becomes)

I only have modded the Gargoyle and the Dominator but i’d say the answer is yes, for sure.   The Dominator loses its ability to wheelie (does anybody know if we can remove that stupid-ass big shield on the back?) and the Deathbike doesn’t seem to be nearly as agile, either.

That said, my Future Shock Deathbike is straight-up DOPE as f*ck in free roam.    Street-legal as i could make it look, no guns, no tail shield, no blades.     Still crashing a lot but the boost and the jump are f*cking sweet.

I was reminded of the speed thing with the web wheels on here today but i didn’t have them on there, and it doesn’t seem like i can put them on now that it’s upgraded?

CORRECTION:   I must have been seeing double last night when i couldn’t pop a wheelie on the Deathbike.   Sure you can.   Stoppies, too. But i do think it has much worse turn radius.

and, man, i do sure wipe out pretty hard on that bastard when i wipe out.

The Issi Classic becomes rear wheel drive, so it's a new beast altogether.

Halal Cyborg

I haven’t touched gta in ages and this update isn’t really for me but the cars mostly look nice.

Is it the case I need to buy the Arena property to store clean vehicles?

And if I decide to bother with the mode do I need to buy two of the same vehicle to have a clean one and one to use in the mode?

Oh, I'm fine with unlocking stuff by playing, I just don't like the random unlock system they are using.

Instead of unlocking stuff I care about, I have to go through tons of sh*t that I could not give any less of a f*ck about. Discounts for vehicles I do not own and never will (brutus), discounts for outfits I would never wear (alien bodysuit), and borderline useless pegasus vehicles that appear to be designed by a toddler (have a look at that ugly taxi).

You know what kind of unlocksystem I like? Systems where I aquire skillpoints or a currency that allows me to unlock what I like and what fits my style.

Whats even more stupid is their "arena skill" system (the one where you unlock the blista). How does it reflect YOUR skill if you win or loose in a team match? Imagine this: You take out 99% of the enemy team on your own while your teammates die within seconds. You get f*cked up by the last enemy player because you are heavily damaged from taking one the rest of the enemys and the enemy team wins. Your arena skill will go down despite you actually being the best player of the match.

Whats even more offensive is that, if their system f*cks up (disconnect, etc.), it will count as a loss for you even though you have no controll about it.

AP should be a arena based currency that you can only aquire by playing in the arena and that allows you to unlock the stuff based on what you wnat to unlock while the "arena skill" should be increased or decreased based on your personal performance in matched not on the wins and losses your team aquires.

I think this random unlock system is a pretty smart solution for so much content added.  You could get your favorite stuff by any time instead of having to grind to Level 408 to get your cluckin bell cap

And why exactly would that be a problem?

If there's 426 unlocks, what are the 50 unlocks you need for the Award? Just get 50, doesn't matter which?
