Gun Rush Mode coming to RDO [LEAK]

Apparently R* is preparing to add a new game mode to RDO ... it's called Gun Rush and there's also a Gun Rush Team variation of it.

I'm excited, more modes are always welcome and really needed!

Can't watch the video right now, what's the basic premise of Gold Rush?

Gun Rush :) No details yet, just the icon for it appeared on someone's quick-join menu in RDO.

Ok 🙂lol. It'll obviously be PvP, so it's not something I'll get a lot, if anything, out of. But I can't complain at more content and more choice being added.

My guess is old gun game from counter-strike. You started with worst gun and you had to climb to the best gun. At the end you had to score 1 kill with only a knife. So it might look like that:

Revolver -> Pistol -> Shotgun -> Repeater -> Rifle -> Sniper rifles -> Throwing knife

Sounds a bit like that GTAO game where your team has to get a certain amount of kills to get to the next weapon.

As far I am concerned, and even though I am also a PvP player, this "gun rush mode" does not get me excited. Nor does the actual competitive game modes which aren't innovative at all. Hope R* can do better because right now I am getting bored.

Edit: also think its gungame,ehich is always nice. But if every weapon kills with 1 headshot no matter how far enemies are away(as long as theyre in range) a varmint isnt really worse then a bolt action and im asking myself if this mode does make sense.

They will not allow M&K for RDO, but even of they did it would work perfectly with lock on aim to make even quicker and more precise headshots every single time.

 

Freeaim is not for the hardcore, it simply produces better gameplay, where you can run for cover instead of being able to instantly headshot someone running between cover for just a second.

Yes, which will never change as long as the only option is lock on aiming. With freeaim lobbies you would have a much more dynamic game with interresting gameplay.

M&K works fine with RDR2 with adapters, which have become pretty damn common in shooters on console.

Yes, which will never change as long as the only option is lock on aiming. With freeaim lobbies you would have a much more dynamic game with interresting gameplay.

They dont allow it...lol...if only it would be that easy.

I know you can use M&K of you want although the implementation is not always perfect. I was referring to the official M&K support currently in beta for the Xbox ;)

 

Still it’s irrelevant to having freeaim lobbies. The only way to combat people using different methods of gaining an advantage is to not aim at all, but simply press fire and kill the closest person.

 

For lockon however, the mouse will be a massive advantage over a controller in terms of getting the headshot.

 

Freeaim will make the game better, no matter what people use.

Idc about gun rush or any other game mode. I just want good old DM and team DM, ONLY. Hate having to do 8 "Make it count" and 4 turf wars to every 1 team DM

That's called Shootout in Series Large. Two teams, one big deathmatch.

 

Looking forwards to Gun Rush. Hopefully it pays well.

Atm i got no problem,with the lockon i can kill people in a few miliseconds,i doubt you can be much quicker with a mouse,theres really not much potential to be any faster. 

 

With freeaim this will change. Yeah,it will make the game better. But for controller users it will be hard.

I have played every single first person shooter with my controller with no issues, including PUBG where there is no aim assist. You can keep playing with lock on if you fancy that - I just want freeaim lobbies for all the people who like to play that way.

Red dead isnt a first person shooter though. I also played a lot of shooters on console and most of them have aim assist. In red dead its not only assist,the game does it all for you basically. Freeaim is better then the current thing,but toning down aim assist would be better imo.

What are you arguing?

 

You can have whatever you want, some of us just want freeaim because aim assist makes gameplay bland and boring. Freeaim worked perfectly in the first game. Not some watered down version of it - just freeaim like hardcore in the first game.

 

It does not matter what kind of game it is and I already said PUBG is fine with a controller and it has zero aim assist. PUBG isn’t the best of games, but one thing they got right - aim assist ruins more than it helps and a shooter where you just aim works better.

 

That said there is already some aim assist when using freeaim, so you don’t need to add that.

Then we want the same. Freeaim lobbies. RDR already has a good subtle aim assist for freeaim and you can fine tune the strength.

 

Normal lobbies will not get tuned, they will keep it as it has always been. The best we can hope for realisticly is for them to add freeaim lobbies instead og having to tweak core game mechanics. Making freeaim lobbies is easy for them, they already have it ingame for horse races.

I cant really remember how good aim assist was in red dead 1,but isnt the rd2 one much stronger then gta5 aim assist? At least not 90% of my kills and deaths were headshots there...imo its not "like it has always been",aim assist is stronger then ever.

 

I could be wrong,i dunno. But i want a weaker aim assist on normal servers.

I’m not talking about the lock on. There are seperate settings for aim mode <normal, narrow, wide and freeaim> and then there is a setting for aim assist where you can tweak the strength. It is that same kind of thing happening in BF where your aim slows down slightly when over an enemy to help you. It will not aim for you (on freeaim), but it will help you.

The editor, card games, and an option to skip or blacklist make it count. That'd be good in my opinion.
