A DLC with Arthur Morgan, Dutch and Hosea in the beginning of forming a gang would be cool, or it could also be a great RDR 3 .

 

I voted also for more normal mission stuff and more random encounters .

The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Asscreed Odyssey, and many more games show that single-player DLC is not only not dead- but that they can drive later sales and generate interest in games long after release, better than what any slow-burn online mode can do.

 

It's now a choice of whether of whether or not TakeTwo allows this to happen, IMO.

I'd take most of those, but a large Undead Nightmare is what I'd enjoy. Not just zombies, the lot. All the horror regulars really.

I am a single player offline only, kind of guy, guess you can say I am old school....just hope Rockstar gives us something single player, and make up for what they promised with GTA5 and never did?

Only companies that try to push online gaming with microtransactions say that single player is dead. But best rated, award wining games are always SP focused.

I hope Rockstar is not foolish enough to not capitalize on both SP DLCs and Online. It's not like they can't do both.

 

How many of those 17 million copies sold were bought with the intention of Singleplayer being their only source of entertainment, myself included? I figure many. They just won an award for best narrative as well. Rockstar, go make some muhney!

I personally would like a Charles Smith DLC. I would like to know what happened to him after he left John Marston. Charles was my favorite gang member after Arthur.

I think these are probably the most requested DLCs:

• Undead Nightmare 2
• RDR 1 Remaster
• Sadie DLC- possibly involving her leadership after Shady Belle, and her travels to South America
• Charles Smith DLC- possibly involving his time away from the camp helping the indians, and his travels to Canada
• Javier/Bill DLC- possibly involving their time after the ending between RDR2 and 1
• Mexico DLC- possibly involving Javier
• Blackwater/Arthur in New Austin Prologue DLC
• More Arthur in general DLC
• More guns/clothing/horses DLC
• And of course we can't forget the Horse armor DLC, can we?

Story DLC set at any point prior to Blackwater with Arthur as the player character

 

Story DLC set very early in the gang's history (1870s or 1880s) with Dutch as the player character. As a bonus you might get to meet Bessie (Hosea's wife) and the Callandar brothers, depending on how old the latter were or when they joined. I'd prefer jumping back into Arthur's boots, but if they go with a player character other than Arthur I'd prefer Dutch over Marston. I love John Marston but after RDR1 and RDR2 I think his story is done.

 

Story DLC following Sadie or Charles after the events of RDR2's epilogue. Again I'd prefer Arthur, but either one of those characters could be interesting if Rockstar has decided they're done with Arthur as a protagonist.

 

No zombies, aliens, or supernatural elements. I know a lot people liked RDR1's Undead Nightmare, but I think the non-canon zombie stuff was weird and unneeded. I'm down for a good zombie apocalypse game, but I don't need that game ham-fistedly grafted onto a Western where it is out of place.

 

Either setting it in the existing map or expanding it could work. New areas would be fun but I don't think they're a necessity for DLC.

Before anything, I'd want RDR1 remade using RDR2. Other than that, Arthur's Undead Nightmare with all the supernatural stuff listed in your poll would be awesome - especially vampires and werewolves. Maybe even an undead dinosaur boss fight...

I would love it if they made the map even big maybe add mexico or a more tropical area like in Assassin creed black flag maybe we could become some pirates and sail out to sea and then we could have a really big map with going to different islands taking down ships. I would love to play more as Arthur morgan I have grown to love him over the time I have spent playing as him.

 

Time travel would be cool because rockstar have never really done anything close to science fiction so doing something like this could really spice things up and make choices really matter maybe you could stop the gang from splitting up or save John marston from dying.You could also see how some towns look 20 years down the line.

Another of the interesting ones they could do is that time when John runs away from the gang- would be interesting playing as a complete lone roamer figure without any sort of allegiance or responsibilities, but I would imagine that we've already gotten enough John as of yet.

I'm very sceptical about the likelihood of single player DLC. I'd love a prologue chapter focusing on the Blackwater heist but I'd say any leftover ideas they have for what the gang was up to in Blackwater will end up in Online. I think an RDR1 remaster/remake has probably the best chance of happening if only because a lot of the work in terms of the map etc has already been done. They could also easily release it in 3 downloadable parts - New Austin chapter, Nuevo Paraiso chapter and West Elizabeth chapter - to make even more money before releasing it on disc as a full game.

There are some realistic scenarios for a story DLC.

 

1. Prologue to Redemption 2. This chapter covers the time period when the gang operated in West Elizabeth until to their escape to The Grizzlies.

 

2. Charles Smith story. It could take place during the events of Redemption 2, but will only focus on his solo adventures, such his involvement with the Wapiti tribe. You could pass this as a Natives-focused story expansion. 

 

3. Sadie Adler's adventures from 1900 to 1907. Many stories about this lady, such as how she ended up in the bounty-hunting business, which could be the focus of the whole story expansion. 

 

4. 1907-1911. This chapter can cover many stories, such as the rise of The Williamson gang and other outlaws that we met in Redemption, the recovery of Armadillo, the final collapse of Tumbleweed, the expansion of the Macfarlane's ranch and other stories.

 

If I'd rank my preference, It'd be 4 > 1 > 3 > 2.

Well in a perfect world I would want RDR to be remade within RDR2, adding Mexico as a map expansion. At the end you could switch between Arthur, John and Jack, something gimmicky like that. Although I understand why this is hard (and will most likely never be done, although I'm hopeful). That or a DLC side story where we play as Sadie and Mexico is unlocked for us to explore. She did mention something about going down south so it fits.

 

Realistically I'd put my money on a prequel side story to RDR2 where we explore the beginning of the cracks forming within the gang. See Micah beginning to push Dutch in the wrong direction, see the formation of the divide in the group and then yes, the Blackwater Massacre. Having something cool like being able to explore New Austin and West Elizabeth as Arthur would be cool, although kind of redundant given the events post-story. That or a non-canon fantasy story involving monsters which would be tolerable. I don't personally want to see Undead Nightmare or any other non-canon monster story revisited but for what it was, it was enjoyable so I guess 8 or so hours of dumb fun killing zombies/monsters would be enough to satisfy.

Honestly, I just hope they focus on PC optimization to enjoy this massive game at Ultra like it deserves. Could really care less about what else they do because if it's SP content, I'm cool with it.

But probably zombies. Lot's of graves and creepy areas. A barn with "infected inside" already exists too. Tons of stuff that could easily tie into Zombies, even if Walking Dead (TV Show, not comic) ruined zombies years ago. Would be cool to have an undead Arthur and horses... etc etc.. a Unicorn or a Pegasus - cuz there is no jetpack.

Seriously though, anything with Arthur would help wash away the foul taste of the Chapter 6 conclusion(s), those f*cking epilogues and the utter disappointment of RDO.

I know this is a bit off-topic but if you unironically think that the epilogues were just a big waste of time you clearly either:

A. Didn't play the game

or

B. Didn't understand the context and the meaning of why what was happening was happening.

I'd explain more but this just isn't the time and place for it but come on, it wasn't that bad.
