Almostnasty Posted June 7, 2019 Share Posted June 7, 2019 I have a Reverse Dapple Roan Nakota, a Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Foxtrotter, and the White Arabian. I held off on buying the Black Arabian, because I didn’t really think the price of 42 gold bars justified the minimal stat differences, plus it’s not even a true Dark Horse with that white streak down its face. I just know they’re going to add another horse down the line that will cost more in gold so I may as well continue to save. The Foxtrotter hype is very real, and for good reasons. They’re definitely a dependable horse and they have a great temperment. The stats are all there too. Great health and stamina. I never really factored in health too much with my horse purchases just cause a bullet to your horses head is just the same in any case. I can confidently say I was satisfied with my purchase after acquiring one. However, the White Arabian was my most recent purchase and I have no regrets. The Elite handling is nice and noticeable, I wish the Foxtrotter had that too. Yeah, a lot of people say the Arabian horses spook real easily, but it’s just a matter of playing accordingly. As long as I’m hitting that calm button, I’m not really getting bucked off. A lot of people seem to overexaggerate their experiences with these particular horses. Riding into a swamp full of alligators isn’t really necessary either, doing that alone is just asking for your horse to get pissed. One can’t get bucked off of a horse if they’re on foot in the first place during certain situations. Crazy right? This is all preference of course and the right horse always comes down to the competence of the rider. My first (UE) Thoroughbred is a pussy (to be expected I guess) and that last free war horse isnt the most courageous either in my experience. Can someone who has both the Turkoman and the Fox Trotter confirm which one is more courageous? I really liked it in SP. Also does the horse get “more courage” with better bonding? It's no worries; I'm glad to hear that it reappeared as an option! ☺ I almost pulled the trigger and bought the Fox Trotter yesterday, but couldn't decide if I wanted to invest money in yet another and more expensive stable or discard one of my "free" horses and still end up spending close to 1700 to 1800 or so for the new horse, saddle, stirrups, etc. I know that I want it; I just have a hard time spending money these days. I do love the look of the AS, I have it set as my mission horse; but it's just not good enough. The Dark Bay is as close to black as we'll get, I think it's like a black/brown pearl, lol. Fox Trotter is the better one, But do wait till you have full bonding with the Turk it does get better as all horses do at level 4. But yeah, they can do soooooo much more and give the player it's own distinctive horse. We all have the same ones, like they roll out the factory this way. If they wanna stick more to reality, this is a thing to see changed for sure. Leftover Pizza Posted June 10, 2019 Share Posted June 10, 2019 Someone tried ramming my character with an Arabian. Didn't work and he fell off his horse himself, but he his dot became red anyway. My character was using the Hungarian Halfbred, which is quite a bit bigger and heavier build than that pony. I don't know if that was a factor for my character not being bumped off his horse, or the bad aim from the weekend warrior. But if the size and build of the horse is a factor, that's quite cool. With the saddle and spurs plus running the races, he ended off with a 10 speed. It's a tad bit more skittish than the Turkoman, but not by much.
