My white Shire was the first Horse I bought and I still use him daily. Sgt Wa Ge

My bay is actually my go to hunting mount, he is great at alerting me to the presence of cougars and panthers before they have a chance to even lock onto us. kcole4001
I'm rather enjoying the Breton I just bought. After watching a live stream by a fellow who was using one to great effect during LA missions, I thought I might give it a shot as every one of mine are wusses when it comes to predators and most gunfire, granted I bought them for speed and maneuverability primarily (white and chestnut Arabians, Turkoman, and Norfolk Roadster). The new girl has handled ambush gunfire with hardly a flinch until she took enough damage to drop, never bucked me at all, that's a first! I haven't tested her vs gators yet, I'm sure that will come very soon. Steel grey Breton, named "PFortySeven Jug" after the WWII fighter known for taking immense punishment and still bringing it's pilot home safely: For example this one hit a tree...and the tree lost a few more...the first on may have lost a little oil before landing Direwrath

I didn't notice until I pulled him out of the stall for the halloween season but he just seems to cower and buck a little more now, although he is still pretty stable during a gun fight. But before that he was a pretty brave little thing, even let the wolves circle around his legs without bucking me off. Here soon I am going to need a new stall for my stable, I want to get that grey Turkoman so I can call him Grey Ghost, an ode the popular racehorse Native Dancer. kcole4001
Well, my hardy new Breton appears to be deathly afraid of snakes. I didn't get into any hostile gunfire situations last night, hopefully that doesn't downgrade, because she was brilliant during an ambush the day before. I calmed her once and she didn't flinch at all then, but sniff a snake by the roadside and it's all snorting and whining again. There are the times when a name just comes to me, like when I had that sorrel Breton and I called her Flipside, or I name them after a cultural reference like my Dragula who is named after the race car in The Munsters. I nearly named my silver dapple Breton Ozzy because he does look like an Ozzy and screams like the Prince of Darkness himself. That and riding him is like I'm on a crazy train... hehe, but I decided Epitaph felt more RDR. My first horse in online was the chestnut Walker and I name him Admiral after the racehorse War Admiral. You are not lying about the details they put into the horses in this game, I just love walking mine down the path and watching him/her move. Their gait is just so right and if you watch closely you can see their ears twitch and turn at every noise like they are actually interacting with the environment. I love how they will actually turn their head as if they are interested in something they see along the way or when they pass by another horse. They also get aggravated when the flies are really biting in the swamps, it's pretty cool. I do have a beef with the fact that some of the breeds do have strange conformation, but that's because they just used the same models and shaped them to look a bit different. So I understand the reason behind it. kcole4001, IamCourtney, DentureDynamite and 1 other
kcole4001
Dammit! Confirmed my Breton is an enormous wuss when it comes to any type of predator. She panics with the slightest provocation. Gunfire is nothing more bothersome than horseflies until she drops critically wounded, I just calm her once and she's good. First thing I do is revive her, of course, even if it may mean failing the mission, it's the least I could do after such a brave performance. I think I'm starting to like her best. Her acceleration is less than stellar, and her turns at speed are reluctant, but she's usually so steady for long hard rides or a random ambush. However, I've been able to calm her during hard riding since the launcher/social club update where before I couldn't calm her while riding. Or maybe it's due to level 4 bonding now? I'd assumed it was because she didn't mind some hard exercise. Eidt: back to normal: hard riding doesn't bother this horse at all, must have been a snake in the near vicinity (20 mile radius ) Edited November 7, 2020 by kcole4001 details netnow66 and yeezy203

You can kind of see it with the newer breeds, the Cob is literally just the Shire body type only a smaller model size and with the head of one of the riding breeds. The Breton is basically like the Ardennes but with shorter legs, I even think they kept the large head on that one but it's also from one of the lighter breeds. The Criollo has the Trotter body with the head of the Morgan. They just resize or give a little different shape and there is your new breed, and I understand why they do that because some of these breeds are basically the same look to the untrained eye. And models can be limited on what can be done to their mesh before they break. Not that they got them wrong, because for the most part the breeds do look close enough for what they have to work with. I have a few different 3D horse models that I use myself and to get the different breeds I do the same thing, this just tells me they may be using the same model just apply different morphs available to them to fit. They are all rigged to the same skeleton and the skeleton has so many points you are going to get issues like this if you look close enough. They need to scale the bodies so that the anchor points like where you sit, where cargo sits etc all line up. They also need to line up where breath appears from the nostrils for example. You can only reshape the body and heads so much before the body does not fit the extremely complex skeleton. But as Dire said, alot of the horses share bodies so why can't they share coats as well? Menstrual Deranged
Is it possible for the exact same horse breed in a different coat color to act a bit different from the other coat color, even if they're the same rank horse? Since I reached rank 20 bounty hunter months ago, I've been riding around on the rank 20 brown breton. They're a bit ornery and noisy but I like how sturdy and stocky they are. Just for a change, I decided to get the gray one the other day. I got him up to level four loyalty and keep him well-fed and clean but he acts like it's the end of the damn world all the time. I swear he is way more skittish and screams a lot more over absolutely nothing. Took him into Day of Reckoning the other day and he was trying to bolt from gunfire! And as soon as I'd hop off of him to rope a convict, he'd take off across the map! Lord Thicchoof never acted like a huge pusscake like that in Day of Reckoning or around gunfire. Same exact horse, just different coats. I have the two rank 20 naturalist gypsy cobs as well and I haven't noticed any disparity in behavior. Not sure what's up with the difference between my two bretons but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? Bogey, the bay one, is the only one I will ride when it comes to hunting panthers or cougars, he takes on the predators like a champ. But Skids, my golden one will buck and flee before the cougar even has a chance to lunge at her. Neither one will throw me unless I am not vigilant enough to catch the cat before he ends up directly behind us. Bogey is my game horse, he's my go to cause he's a good boah.
