Not the same thing.

OP is asking for top of the class.

That other thread is about value for money.

Best repeater is the lancaster, the slightly faster reload and the slight accuracy advantage over the litchfield makes a hell of a defference, have bought both and was very dissapointed with the litchfield. Also a few more rounds than the carbine which is good.

Best shotgun is the pump, seems to hold its damage at a slightly longer range than the others and reload is pretty quick, especially handy when you can just reload 1-2 shells to pull you out of a close call.

As far as pistols i havent tested many, hated the mauser in SP and am a fan of revolvers. Comes down to the range youre engaging at, Double action is unbeatable at close range, schofield for those loger more accurate shots, volcanic pistol is a little slow on the reload but still a good last resort.

Best rifle has to be bolt action, Scoped rifles like rolling block dont have the lock on ability of the bolt. also the springfields breach reload is slow and if you miss your shot its 1.5-2 seconds before you have another shot chambered.

TLDR;  Lancaster Repeater, Pump Shotgun, Schofield/DA Revolver, Bolt Rifle

I agree. That said, I always thought the Rolling Block was more stable and accurate than the Carcano. Could just be my perception, or placebo effect.

Why, oh why did I talk myself out of getting the Lancaster for the Lichfield???

Lancaster Repeater - Accurate, satisfying sound and decent damage.

Springfield Rifle - Very powerful, but only one shot before reloading.

Pump Action Shotgun - Fun as f*ck. Enough said.

Schofield Revolver - Powerful and really nice to look at, specially with the upgraded barrel.

Semi-Automatic Pistol - I'd put the Mauser here instead but that'd be too predictable. The Semi-Automatic Pistol is really nice to use for its fast rate of fire, accuracy and damage. Also, two SA pistols = instant death wherever you go.

I did the same, sucks really.

strange how the cheaper option is the better gun in this case.

I pretty much feel the same.

I expect the .22 to get a pvp nerf but currently it is really easy to head shot someone with it from a distance.

I seem to get caught up in looks, especially with the shotguns. I love the classic double barrel long shotgun.

I've used the .22 a lil during missions, mostly by accident forgetting to switch my loadout and its pretty good, cheap ammo too. And yes the double barrel looks amazing especially with iron frame and barrel.

Shay pretty much hit the nail on the head, especially if/when they nerf the Varmint rifle in PvP.

Pistols I feel are more personal preference than anything at the moment, some people are rocking dual Sawn-Off's in those slots cause it frees up one of your long weapon slots for a rifle or repeater and because pistols are mainly last resort weapons at the moment, at least in PvP, anything works in PvE of course.

I think your sidearms are always a bit more personal than any other weapons in RDO. Like in the old west when they were more like a valued possesion than just another weapon to use.

The weapons are balanced pretty good, they all have strengths and weaknesses. I think it comes down to personal preference.

Since headshots are key, anything with good accuracy and range are ideal over weapons with higher damage or fire rate.

Aye I agree with that. My side arms will be the first thing I customise when I get around to that because of that very reason.

Only downside to the varmint, it's how fast ya go through ammo.

the dual sawed-offs is nice, but side arms are more personal and depends on what type of situation you get in the most. I got Bolt action and still putting in that work with the Carbine Repeater(got my eye on the Lancaster(my fav repeater in the story)), but because I also run up on dudes in close quarter situations I'm blasting dudes with the dual shorties(sawed-offs). Just 10 levels away for slugs. If I can carry 60 rounds of slugs like the regs I will carry the pump action and use the reg for that and slugs on the sawed-off for the mid to close range type maps.

There is no simple answer to what is the best weapon because it depends on circumstances but even more is important to use weapon you like, not the weapon someone tells you is the best.

My personal choice,  Colt or Schofield as sidearm, Henry repeater for longer range option and double barrel shotgun as main weapon, I just like damn thing so much.

Depends on playstyle. For aim assist lobby I go with accuracy and power, so it would be Volcanic pistol, Lancaster repeater and Bolt rifle. I don’t care about shotguns, because that close range is so rng if you win a duel.
