aFinn
I only recently did the award for completing 4 hideouts in a day. I was in New Austin and didn't see other players so I decided to try for it. I started around 2-3am at Gaptooth Breach, finished it around 5.30am. Went near Solomon's Folly, it took a while for it to become a hideout but it did finally. I finished it around 1pm. I then went to Sea of Coronado but it didn't become a hideout so I rode to Repentance Rock and it became a hideout, it was late afternoon then. I then rode down to near Jorge's Gap. It also took forever to become a hideout but it finally did. I finished it around 4am or so and got the award. I think some hideouts start early in the day, some start from noon and the evening ones start at 18. A few start very early in the morning, around 2-4am like Quaker's Cove. Sometimes, although rarely, a hideout becomes a hideout at unusual times if you hang around near the area hunting or fishing or whatnot. Sometimes it's the direction at which you approach it which triggers it better to become a hideout. I wish they would all have fixed times and they would always become a hideout. I've wasted hours total hanging around them waiting for them to activate. I've never done the Loft hideout, what times have you encountered it? I've also never done that snow mining one that is in an awkward place east of the other abandoned mining site north of Hanging Dog Ranch. I've never done Fort Mercer either. A couple times it has flashed on the map as hideout but disappeared right away. ThaBirdCoot
The Loft often spawns at night, and Millesani Claim, the one with the mine also at midnight. Edit: Best way to make a hideout spawn is to avoid having anyone in the area, it is also a possibility a player had recently completed it so you won't have it spawning. Then knowing the approximate time it will pop is useful. Give yourself a little window when you know one is gonna come up soon and start heading towards it. I usually start somewhere in the world and then travel to the opposite side of the map where you'll likely not encounter many people, just like with hunting really. Also do not go too near or straight up face a hideout location within your line of sight. Edited April 4, 2019 by ThaBirdCoot aFinn
BUT THE BENZ
feels like you can trigger them at ANY time really to be honest, if you weigh in the above mentioned factors. don't think they're time-locked Foxwolfe
ThaBirdCoot
They are time locked for sure, but some will spawn at both day and night, sometimes it even can happen twice a day. Unless red dead gets a PC release we will never know for sure what the EXACT hours are, gonna have to wait for some folk to dig trough the code. If it ever happens. 4eyedcoupe
Yeah, they are definitely time locked. I haven't pinpointed the times, but I can yell you a pattern or order to follow to get the "4 hideouts in one day" buckle because I know the which part of the day a few spawn like clockwork. ThaBirdCoot
An easy set for the 4 hideouts in a day: Solomon's Folly (early morning) Twins Rocks (Midday) Jorge's Gap &/or Repentance (late afternoon start of evening) Rattlesnake Hollow ( Night) Really this buckle is easy if you get lucky not having any random disconnects, and add to that always a slim chance for a treasure map. Worth it imo. Edited April 4, 2019 by ThaBirdCoot 4eyedcoupe
BUT THE BENZ
twin rocks hideout was available ONCE for me and I NEVER had it pop up again. midday you say? will have to try that, it is one of my favrit hideouts from RDR, aside from tesoro azul
ThaBirdCoot
Still trying to figure out spawns. Not easy with all errors in between or someone ocasionally having a stranger mission taking place in same location. But it seems most hideouts spawn at 2 different times, day and night time. Example I can confirm Solomon's Folly; early morning from 8 a.m and also at midnight 0:00. Or Bear claw late afternoon and night. Colter also at midday and night; 10 p.m from my experience. Millesani Claim midnight confirmed. These O'driscoll's carry a lot of gin, holy sh*t Edited April 12, 2019 by ThaBirdCoot

AmyStone
Great map and really useful looking. It looks like I'll have to spend a day slowly making my way across the map and completing them all.

No Homing
There's one hideout missing on that map, it's all the way in the west end of the map, at the Sea of Cornado or whatever it's called. There's also a few ambushes missing, I know there's one on the small bridge close to Stillwater Creek. Oh and I think @ALifeOfMisery found a new Ambush somewhere in the Grizzlies West, so there might be more new ones. Yeah. At the top of the slope, heading west out of Barrow Lagoon, going towards Lake Isabella. There's also a random encounter on the same spot. Ride needed to Chez Porter. Rev.
