The Gang Hideouts Database

I think that works like Gang Attacks from GTA Online, but maybe here is 12 hours for every gang hideout (in GTA Online, Gang attacks are 8 hours for every gang attack).

For example: hours when I founded the Hideout

Don't they just appear as you get close to them on the map?

They appear when you are able to do it. When you can't they don't appear on the minimap. Hideouts are not always available to do so the hideouts may only be able to be completed at specific times.

You get any further with this, and can we confirm it's only certain hrs that they spawn?

I'm also making a list on these, maybe we can compare them later.

Sounds good...

I added the known times to the original... will keep adding as we go;

I added more hours in the list.

The gang hideouts may have 12 hours of spawn. Since I've seen Lakay from 21:00 to 09:00, but never during the rest of the day.

Yesterday, I was left alone in a lobby (I had not updated to 1.05) and I did not have any problem to play every gang hideout what I saw and play missions of strangers (that issue that the guy tells you about the mission but then nothing happens).

It was easier to find gang hideouts and if a hideout appeared, I would not disappear later (as it happens to me most times). That this, like the stranger missions bug, should be a issue with so many players in a lobby.

I have to say that I have played about 50 hideouts and some ambush and I have only found two extra tresaure maps (one from hideout and one from ambush).

Awesome, will update the graphic... I'll try and spend some time knocking out hideouts tonight to add to list as well - and yea, I don't find a lot of treasure maps either

There's also an O'Driscoll ambush between Twin Stack Pass late at night/early morning (not sure of the exact time).

I was on top of one of the two Twin Stack Pass mesas last night, testing out my new bolt-action scope, when I spotted what I thought was an off-the-radar player. He was crouched behind a rock, facing the path. Once I started shooting, the other "red dot O'Driscolls" showed up...

Turns out I had ambushed an ambush. :) Picked them off nicely from the mesa vantage point. :)

Also, there appears to be a new "bandits" mechanic added (presumably with 1.05)--I ran into two NPCs last night also near Twin Stack Pass, not part of a gang or ambush, that spawned not too far from me. There were just sitting on their horses (red dots), apparently too far from me to start shooting, so I picked them off at a distance. They made different threats and didn't identify themselves any gang (not O'Driscolls) and no other NPCs were with them.

IIRC, their red dots were labeled "Bandits"(?)--somehow that term stuck in my mind from something I saw when it happened.

Graphic's missing a hideout near the road west from Manteca falls, if I recall correctly north of the "U" in San Luis River. May be slightly (or quite a bit) off but I definitely ran into one somewhere along the road west from Manteca falls but well before reaching Fort Mercer.

Well, I just found Lakay gang hideout at 18:00 hours. So goodbye to my theory about 12 hours.

I would need someone like @Fun 2 or @WildBrick142 to find how it really works.

My experiences:

Hideouts:

Cueva Seca - day

Gaptooth Breach - day

Sea of Coronado (South of Gaptooth Breach) - day

Solomon's Folly - day

Cholla Springs - night

Repentance - day and night

Fort Mercer - day and night

Pikes Basin - no idea

Manteca Falls - night + there is one more gang hideout right next to it at the cliff and it also spawns at night

Bear Claw - night

Quaker's Cove - day

Fort Riggs - day

Hanging Dog Ranch - day and night

Cumberland Falls - day

Six Point Cabin - day

Firewood Rise - day

Bacchus Station - day

Lakay - night

West Bayou - day

Radley's Pasture - day and night

Ambushes:

Between Pikes Basin and Manteca Falls - day

West of Bear Claw - day

South of Fort Riggs - day

Bard's Crossing - day

Granite Pass (Window Rock, north of Six Point Cabin) - day

That's what I remember at least. Btw please stop using such low quality maps. Use that one instead.

If Rockstar was smart about gang hideouts, they'd be completely random, but based on as many preset locations as possible that work as good hideouts.

Same with ambushes--should also be completely random--even locations, if possible; this would keep players on their toes. The whole point of an ambush is surprise. If/when I learn where fixed ambushes are, I will start avoiding them. I can't avoid what's random.

Loot as well--while there are some benefits to having items spawn in the same place every time, it gets monotonous, and the higher value items like jewelry tend to be spawn camped.

I don't mind the fixed hideout locations, it makes sense to me. Definitely agree on ambushes though, there's only a couple of spots they happen so it's a bit predictable.

I hope they add more gang hideouts, it seems weird that the Heartlands is pretty much devoid of hideouts and the ones in Roanoake are confined to the region's borders. Agreed that ambushes have become too predictable.

There's another ambush location. Downes Ranch, go straight down until you reach the Dakota River then slighly left.

Found a hideout I had never seen before at The Old Bacchus Place sitting right next to the San Luis river in Hennigan's Stead. I believe in Single player there is a fertility statue or something in the shack there. This hideout popped up middle of the afternoon at 4p.m approximately. I am currently looking to gather exact times at which these spawn.

^manteca falls?

Somewhere in Lemoyne I ran into a hideout I had neither seen nor heard of, totally unexpected, and I even looted a map there.

spitroast something?

Old Bacchus Place and Manteca Falls are 2 different hideouts, they spawn at daytime. If the other one doesn't become a hideout the other one will.

The map in first post is also missing Sea of Coronado gang hideout in the far southwest corner of New Austin.

No, not Manteca Falls but it is a stone throw away from there, I havent seen a mention of it anywhere in guides on the web but seems like the one @fejkb described in his post above

Look for smoke!

Aside from the Ranch and maybe a couple other spots, smoke = Gang Hideout or so I've found.
