*SPOILER* Loophole to Store Money for *Later*

*SPOILER*

Has anyone been able to confirm whether or not you can return to the Aberdeen Pig Farm (Incest Couple) as John to retrieve the money they stole from you as Arthur?

See the video below to see what I’m talking about:

It seems as though none of the YouTubers have made a video about the potential loophole yet.

I found it as John but never went as Arthur. They were silent. I thought you could go back as Arthur and rob them then they had a secret safe behind a painting?

Non Funkable Token

I came back right after with Arthur, killed them and got more money in return than the money they stole from me. Yes, they have a safe you can loot.

So I don't think they'll have something to loot if I come back with John later on.

People who never retrieved the money with Arthur should test it with John.

This works.  I did it in my playthrough and got John a cool 10K of Arthur's money at the beginning of epilogue 2.

This is potentially clever but it’s much easier simply not to sell gold bars and other valuables as you retain them all.

Arthur makes enough probably from the Valentine Bank robbery to last the rest of the game. Whilst you’ll lose cash at the end of chapter six I’d spend it in shops to get the cigarette cards and the “pony up” trophy.

I assure you this is quite easy.  It's a two step process: go to the pig farm before the last couple missions of chapter 6 (you won't need money at that point anyway). After they drug you, leave the area. Go back as John - they'll be gone, just loot the safe behind the painting.  I didn't even have to do much special planning as I had never encountered them in my game up to that point anyway - I read about the method as I was already midway through chapter 6, and decided to give it a try, so I went and found the farm and it worked.

There's also one good reason to do it which is that some valuables have a storage limit.  Not sure about any specifically other than watches, but I picked up a lot of watches (especially off O'Driscolls) and even with the best satchel you can only carry 5 of each.  So I would routinely go and sell those plus other valuables to the fence, and it was nice to transfer all that cash to John when the time came.

I put the 3 gold bars I found into the "camp box" and used that 1500 (plus a little more) to buy all the upgrades for the camp.

Then I sold all my valuables to the fence, extra provisions to the store, and extra pelts to the butcher.

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter how much money you have.

And guys don't forget to loot the lady (she is more like a witch than a lady though 😂), she have something you need for the bear talisman 😉.

I can confirm this works. I even went back as Arthur after they drug you to kill the incest couple and the money will still be there for John in the epilogue as long as you don't retrieve it.

I also had two saves, one that's normal with money you earn throughout the game legit and one cheese save with the gold bar glitch that got patched recently. The incest coupled will steal a million dollars, every last cent. John comes back, gets a million dollars lol story doesn't make sense anymore because he's filthy rich so he can move to Tahiti with his family.

Check behind the painting. I went there as Arthur and found my money right there.

Also, no offense, but don't use the clickbaiter's one as an example. There's lots of people who made videos about this and didn't stretch it for 10 minutes.

Yeah, I had to chuckle at some of the dialogue in epilogue 2 when John is so desperate for money and keeps talking about how he's going to pay back the bank for his house and barn.  And I'm like, "Uh John... you've got 10 grand, bud."  I assume at that point that you're actually supposed to have 50 bucks or something.

I think he means that all though it is easy to do that you might as well just spend all the cash on items that transfer to John (like clothes, trinkets, weapons, pamphlets, etc) because what else are you going to spend that money on as John anyway?

If you read what I quoted from him, he actually seems to be saying that it's easier to keep valuables in your inventory as Arthur and then sell them as John after you inherit Arthur's stuff.  I'm not sure as I haven't tried that method, but the pig farm thing definitely works and is not difficult (you're basically just doing the encounter like normal, but the first part with Arthur and the second part with John).

You could also just buy everything there is to buy as Arthur and then pass it off to John, but that seems like the least-easy option of all, because you'd have to make sure you go around and buy everything there is to buy.  There are also things like some of the trapper outfits that require skins you can only get in New Austin, and you'll need at least a little money for those.  Plus I like having a buffer of money just in case I decided to buy a new horse, re-customize a weapon, or whatever.  Better to have it and not need most of it than to need a little and not have any at all.

I agree, I just think he didn't word what he was trying to say correctly.

On my current playthrough I plan on visiting the farm late in chapter 6 myself.

Simple. It was never truly about the money.
