Help: Best Bang for your buck: Firearms & Upgrades?

Ok so we all know making money right now is tough.  What are the best value for money weapons in each class?

 

Currently just have the stock carbine repeater and stock high roller.  I will definitely get the bow.  Thinking when i have the rank the volcanic pistol. 

 

For pistol I'm thinking Volcanic?

 

For Shotgun I think the pump action?

 

Bit lost when it comes to rifles though?  any suggestions? 

 

Also with Upgrades are they worth it? trying not to waste my hard earned cash.

Varmint rifle first. (And fishing pole)

Then bolt action.

Then either Schofield or repeater of choice.

After that, go with whatever floats your boat.

 

Advanced rifling and improved sights are absolutely improvements. Scope up to you. Cosmetics? Your choice.

Definitely agree with Ray that the Varmint and Bolt should be your first two buys. Varmint is a huge money maker in PvE and as of right now it's a top tier weapon in PvP and the Bolt Action is your go to long range weapon for PvP and also a good money maker with PvE (deer, buck, gators, etc).

 

After that it's more personal preference, though it is really nice to have a shotgun. For the sidearm I personally went with the Volcanic but I'll probably buy a Schofield for funzies at some point.

yeah the bolt action seems pretty good value for money. So you think the Schofield's over volcanic pistol though?  What about the rolling block rifle is that just for long range hunting? I noticed in PvP matches when using the scope you lose the map, hard to track the player and people can sneak up on you!

Honestly the sniper is pretty useless outside of some niche very long range PvP battles. It's main use is one shotting the big big game (bears, moose, etc) but those aren't great money makers atm so it's not really worth spending your cash on one yet. The Bolt Action with a scope does the same job without the perfect bear pelt hunting pretty much.

 Yeah though as much, thanks for your help. Oh wait what about shotguns? Any advice there? long double barrel is great in PvP,  what about the pump action is it worth the money?

Pump-Action is what I went for just cause I love the thing. Not sure how effective it is in the PvP modes but it's served me well in St Denis free roam when things get a bit rough.

Sweet, well I'm almost there, just about to start over again for the last time. Been such a grind to just get a few thousand dollars. Progressing in this game is gonna take years at this rate. So I'm preparing for the long haul!  Thanks again for your help guys.  Catch you in West Elizabeth 😉

Volcanic pistol only holds 2 rounds?

 

Even then, personal preference. You'll rarely use handguns anyway.

 

Still think a repeater upgrade is more useful.

 So keep original repeater, and upgrade it or buy the next one? looking at the stats it Seems like there's almost no difference between them? I was thinking along the lines of just upgrading the one we start with?

Lancaster and Lichfield are very similar. Lichfield has a bit more power. Lancaster is a little faster. You can't go wrong with either.  But both are superior in speed, accuracy and power to the carbine. Not by much, true. But then when you also factor in magazine size, the upgrade becomes clear.

The Volcanic holds 8 rounds.

I bought the weapons I like the most, regardless of effectiveness. They are all good.

 

1. Bow for hunting, for the Varmint rifle for free ot it would have been number 2.

 

2. Scofield

 

3. Lancaster

 

4. Bolt action for large game

 

5. Second scofield

 

Now I am working up upgrading weapons, buying clothes etc.

It took me 3 days to save for, but the semi auto pistol is a beast to getting moderately far headshots for a pistol. Just keep her clean, it really starts to perform poorly when not cleaned. Seems like any degradation beyond the first half bar makes it near useless. Still worth it IMO though.

So which shotgun is the best? Is there any one shotgun that stands out? I'd like the repeating shotgun, but it is more expensive.

Been thinking about upgrading my Cattleman, but now I think I'll save for the SAP.  $580 is a bit steep, but I figure I can make that money up in an evening of hunting.

 

As for longarms, I go with the Bolt Action and Varmint Rifles for hunting.  For missions, I usually go with the Lancaster Repeater and the Pump-Action Shotgun... more out of personal preference than anything tho TBH.

 

(Side note, I wish I could sell off or store the Carbine now that I've got an upgraded Repeater)

I think holsters and gun belt do. But I'm not 100% sure

The Pump and Repeater are so close in performance as to be essentially identical, the most major difference is that the Repeater can load one more shell. Aside from that it mostly comes down to price and aesthetics.

 

The semi-auto can fire extremely quickly, often overkill. In free aim I've found it very useful in mounted chase gunfights for spraying a wall of lead at a target and not especially caring if it's the horse or the rider that goes down. In autoaim, it seems the rapid fire would be less valuable but I can't say for sure.

Does Semi Auto allow Explosive Slugs?

 

I got my ass handed to me by Teddy "Bear" Brown with Pump Action Explosive Slugs. He one shot me at long-mid range even in armour
