A year old post? I hope money glitches are a thing of the past so everyone has to work for the money. You can have your solo lobby I started doing the mtu trick in bad sport.

Surely you're not telling someone else what they need, right?

 

If I couldn't glitch solo lobbies, this game wouldn't be worth playing to me. And, right now, I'm banking this week's gold bonus in a PvP session, semi AFK. 

 

A good game that's got glitches and griefing--I'd feel silly if I didn't give myself an advantage to combat those whenever possible.

Not so much me either, on Xbox. People hardly bother me, with it being easy for me to fight back/escape

if they do.

Even without griefing, it just "taints" the game. That is why I turned off crossplay on 

"No Man's Sky" on the xbox, because PC online players save hack/dump lots of stuff,

tainting the economy and possibly giving someone who doesn't want to "cheat" stuff.

 

I would feel like my RDO play was tainted, if other players were just dumping legendary spawns

for me to skin and turn in.

 

So glad I mostly quit gaming on the PC, except "World of Warcraft" on my now dated OpenSuse linux PC.

That's the thing about RDO, it can be played and enjoyed so many ways by so many different people.

 

PvPers can pop people to their hearts content--of course, some of them are a bit put off by the AFKers making 2X gold in the PvP modes now.

 

Dupers are making money hand over fist. One of the PSN community members has a picture of about 70 duped legendary carcasses on the ground. 

 

Some are happy/content with how Rockstar handles the game while others find workarounds to make the game palatable. 

 

Even though I find myself playing it less than before, I'm still able to enjoy the game the way it was portrayed in the early beta materials (in solo lobbies of course) where the "play in your own style" was highlighted (and lied about). 

 

It's a PvP fest, hunting/fishing sim (in solo lobbies), etc. For now, it can be played the way you want to play it, at least on PSN. That may change in the future, but I can enjoy it for now.

Even when they think they're being helpful cheaters ruin the game for others.

I had one that spawned a bunch of treasure chests, then rained perfect cougars on my camp, then when I went fishing they rained lake sturgeon all around me...and horses which was weird.

I don't want free stuff, I just want to play the damned game properly. No bad glitches, no good glitches.

They may not be trying to be helpful. In the past people got banned for picking up stuff that was dropped by modders. I think I read the modders would report those people. That was for things like treasures that were found in places no treasures ever are legitimately. I stumbled on a few but just my natural suspicion caused me to not bother with them. But wow, if they're dropping tons of stuff around you....

I was suspicious of them.

The cheater appeared next to my camp and waved me to follow, then led me to a chest.

I opened it to see what it was, and it prompted just like a treasure chest.

That's obviously not legit so I walked away.

Then came the cougars.

I did donate a couple of those to finish off the daily for perfect carcasses. There's no way that could result in a ban since it's a reasonable number to acquire, but I left the pile of extras there and went fishing to catch whatever was required for the daily up at O'Creagh's, that's where the lake sturgeon and horses appeared.

I had never seen a Hungarian half-bred until then, no idea what the cheater thought I'd do with a dozen horses.

 

I switched sessions right after getting the 5th fish required for the daily.

This all happened many months ago, then shortly afterwards I heard that people were getting banned from opening modded treasure chests.

That is why I stopped allowing "crossplay", in "No Man's Sky" on the Xbox as soon as it was put in; I knew

the PC cheaters/modders would possibly taint me!   

 

One cool thing about that though, on the Xbox One, is that it GREATLY: reduces the players in the Nexus/anomaly and that you

otherwise see in the game. This is because for you/them to see each other, they ALSO would have to have crossplay off (meaning the

other Xbox  One players, otherwise they don't even see you either if they have crossplay on.)

 

So, for example, if they had crossplay in RDO then you could turn it off in the Xbox One default settings "allow other game services

to also connect to xbox" (meaning PC, PS4, etc., besides Xbox Live) THEN you'd ONLY be playing with other Xbox One players who

also had it off, so you'd probably be in RDO lobbies that had only two players now (or possibly NONE!    ) 

 

It isn't even up to the maker of the game, such as Hello Games "No Man's Sky", because turning off "allow other game services to also connect

to xbox" blanket stops Crossplay at the base Xbox One settings.

Supposedly R* has stopped banning the victims of those modders unless they see that the victim makes a habit of picking those things up.

I do, on Xbox One, but I have a work around (since I can't seem to force a solo session on it, playing by myself) :

 

1) Do infamous bounties until you find one that puts you in a solo session ( I really need a list of the ones that do, can't find one.)

Legendary ones might work too, but have not tried with one of those.

 

2) Their is a "pause" after you turn in the "solo session" bounty, if you fast travel to your camp or ride off and do junk

you'll be put back in a crowded lobby BUT if you IMMEDIATELY take a bounty from the poster in that "turn in" place, you'll

STAY in a SOLO SESSION.

 

3) Since you already started the next bounty, you'll stay in the solo session (doesn't matter if it is just a regular one * bounty or not.)

Again, if you get the new bounty poster right after turning in THAT bounty you will also stay in a solo session!

 

I've done this for as long as two hours before, finishing off the next 10,000 xp of prestigious bounty hunter and getting the .5 gold and $100.

Then I get bored, going off to my camp or something (at which point, boom, back in a crowded lobby.) Though I've not tried, my guess is that

if you've got the guy in the bounty wagon and plenty of time you could even use the online collector map and find stuff in that area  (but no 

fast travel, or anything.)

 

So the only way I can stay in a solo session for sure is just continually doing bounties. It isn't that bad, really, since you sometimes have some time

before you turn in and can get supplies and stuff while the guy is in a bounty wagon (so no running off)  before you turn in that bounty and grab

the next one fast. You can't use your camp stew or anything though (can't eat from that, while on a mission, which is dumb), or fast travel to your camp, it will say "You are on a mission."

Ahah, I'm really not now. I was.

 

I kind of barely touched SL, then I got a new bankcard and unlike other stuff they did not auto change to the

new card; so I quit being charged for Wow and have to activate again. I've not bothered since messing around

in this and mostly "No Man's Sky" lately.
