well in my oppinion: considering people are spamming youtube on how to glitch every clothing item for free, we will get a full wipe. and that will end RD2O in one go.

Doesn't quite work like that.

Whatever they're glitching isn't even in their inventory.

All they have access to is a saved outfit slot.

All R* has to do is delete said slot (think GTAO cop outfit) and problem solved.

Definitely not impactful enough to "end RD2O".

As long as people exist you will always have little dicks trying to make money on YouTube. 95% of the population can filter the crap and realise that sitting shooting cops climbing a ladder in Saint Denis just isn't effective. (And also makes you look like a tool to everyone else in the lobby). Stupid non sense like that is not detrimental to any game of this scale.

Personally, I'd like to see R* take some time and individually go and into each of their accounts and wipe them out. There's nothing Google can do because, well, 14 year olds who Like, Comment and Subscribe. Ugh.

Doesn't the clothing not actually go into your wardrobe though?

It doesn't, and when you die, log out, change session or fart, the items gets removed anyway, so there really isn't any point to this in the long term.

Yea there's no wipe happening now, for multiple reasons.

For one, people have bought gold to spend on specific items and while reimbursing people the gold after a wipe would be easy, due to level locking people would not be able to instantly repurchase the items they had lost with the wipe. This isn't the end of the world, but it's a messy situation nonetheless.

The big reason, though, is that wipes make sense in traditional betas because traditional betas are live for a matter of days, sometimes even just hours. No one cares about losing a few hours of progress. If Rockstar were to wipe during or at the end of the games beta now people would lose at least a months worth of progress, no sane dev wipes that amount of progress.

Yeah, I should note that I have not done this, but I am relaying what others are experiencing with this "glitch".

I suppose it is a good way to see if parts of an outfit fit before actually buying it, but other than that, it seems entirely useless =P

Yeah you get to save the outfit.

That's all.

No clothing items added to inventory.

If that saved outfit is removed player no longer has access to "glitched" items.

Harmless really.

Only game breaker would be frozen assets.

Even then, between the dual currencies, and semi rigid level lock on most items, R has done a decent preemptive job on thwarting the perceived apocalypse.

😁

No it's not. At all. If Rockstar reset they would have to make sure people kept their purchased gold, by law. Obviously.

  Reveal hidden contents

They're not resetting progress. Let it go.

Cite the law, because Rockstar's EULA says basically they could end the beta and not transfer or refund you any gold.

There would be Bethesda level backlash, I can’t see them doing it

@Vice Beach That backlash was added to an already large fire because Fallout 76 is an outdated mess. Rockstar gave out gold bars only a week after the beta released, so I don't see enough people buying gold to cause a backlash if it's reset.

I'll believe in a total global reset when/if it is announced by R*.  I doubt they'll do anything so drastic.

Maybe, maybe a level roll back, to a 100; or maybe cap some players gold or cash; or penalise some who have been cheating or using exploits.  If anything at all.  But anything beyond those (and I doubt even those) strikes me as highly unlikely.

Of course, I could be horribly wrong.  But I'm not playing with that expectation.  I'm assuming this extra long beta will roll on for a couple of months yet, then it'll transition with very little character alteration to the final game.

Doubt they do a reset with gold live. It's bad pr. Doesnt harm them to have high ranks running around it makes other people low ranked want to buy gold more to get what the high ranked player has.

.1% of people glitching to rank 100 and 100s of gold. Doesnt harm rockstar at all in fact once those glitches are patched those people are more likely to not want to do the longer honest grind and just spend money on gold to buy pass the grind. Rockstar always add new items to grind or buy...

Think of it from purely money making standpoint and you'll see why a wipe wouldn't be business smart at this point.

Sorry, I'm not here to look things up for you. If there was a reset (there won't be) people would receive full compensation for the gold they bought. Any suggestion otherwise is idiotic.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of people have purchased Gold Bars... I can't throw any numbers up, but just about every person I have encountered who has a mic has stated they spent at least $5 on that Special One-Time Offer. This doesn't mean the Beta is safe from a reset though.

R* can easily remove gold, money, outfits, or whatever they want without resetting player level. And then refund the Gold Bars that people had already purchased. The most likely way a reset can occur is if massive exploits get discovered that can jeopardize the sales of Gold Bars.

That's not how you support an argument, but okay. I was just asking you to cite the law that you used as the basis for your reasoning. If gold is reset, Rockstar would probably offer gold or another in-game compensation to not look bad, but again, their terms say that they don't have to refund you.

Quote

NO REFUND: All purchases of VC and VG are final and under no circumstances will such purchases be refundable, transferable, or exchangeable. Except as prohibited by applicable law, Licensor has the absolute right to manage, regulate, control, modify, suspend, and/or eliminate such VC and/or VG as it sees fit in its sole discretion, and Licensor shall have no liability to you or anyone else for the exercise of such rights.

If I paid any real money for gold and it was taken away due to a reset with no refund, that’s a lawsuit. Regardless if it’s beta or not. They won’t do it.

@Vice Beach Wishful thinking. I wouldn't put it past them. But if you buy gold and don't use it by the end of the beta, that's your decision, I have nothing against a no refund policy.

R* can put whatever they like in their EULA as can all other companies. They still have to adhere to federal laws in order to peddle their goods which supercede whatever flibbity-jibbits they toss into an EULA.

Think games in EU being 'nah uh! you cant refund' EU laws say otherwise kiddo. You're breaking the law if you don't offer refunds for a product that doesn't work, physical or digital.

It's like when tossers put on ebay 'no refunds' That's cute. As far as ebay/paypal are concerned you agreed to offer refunds by using their service, it's part of their terms and conditions.

Back on topic. No beta reset, unless someone can glitch tonnes of cash/gold and this goes mainstream, it won't happen. Even if it was a few people R* would wipe THEIR accounts or remove items.

Just to back up what @Pocket Fox said - they already launched gold store, so it means there is no possibility for them to reset accounts. If they do so, people would riot and it wouldn't be in the company interest.

The reason those people glitch in the first place isn't just because they don't want to grind, it's mostly because they don't want to spend more money than they already did buying the game. Maybe. 0001% of the glitchers will buy gold but that's about it imo

At least Reset is not gonna happen and never will.

Because many reasons.

1. Rockstar selling Gold Bars

2. What will happen if they take away our horses during the reset, lost the 42 gold bars of black horse without no refunds?

3. Taking away the Playstation Content offer of 30 days with free outfit (by meaning reseting all the clothes)

4. Taking away our weapons with fully upgraded like gold metal cost like 5 gold bars and no refund during reset.

I'm alway watching you Rockstar if you do this, I will sue you. (Kidding)

Yeah, now gold is available and people are legitimately buying stuff with it they unlocked through ranking up, and considering the clothes glitch is just for a saved outfit, they wont reset things.

But it will probably mean a saved outfit wipe, much like GTA when folk are cops and such. IMHO, not a big issue for players, though a little annoying if anything.

I would give up absolutely everything and start at level 0 if it meant that everyone else was reset and the glitches were removed.

I would always be willing to go a complete character wipe if it meant all of the cheaters and glitchers were left powerless and humiliated for their attempts to ruin online video gaming. I am saying this as a 100% legit player who does not use glitches to cheat. Cheating is amoral and unethical in online gaming, and those doing it should be punished. Period.

They would not scare off truly legit gamers if they did this. We would be nothing but relieved once the smoke cleared.

There should be no mercy, compromising, or negotiating with people who cheat. Character wipe, permanent ban, console ban, IP ban. That would almost go far enough.

I think that those decrying the character wipe are either cheaters or people who can't see far enough into the future to see how this would be good for the entire community.

The scum must be eliminated from the online video gaming world. If I have to devote my free time and wealth to helping rid the online world of these people, I will. I've got a solid 50 years left in my life. I advocate for the best among us to work together to rat out, weed out, and remove all of the people ruining online gaming from the networks we rely on for fun and joy.

Anybody who goes out of their way to get cheaters and shameless glitchers banned from online gaming is a hero to me.

These horrible people cannot hold us all hostage forever. Eventually --- perhaps a long time from now, this will be all handled with a sense of justice, but as of right now, there is no justice for the legit, and there is no justice for the worst offenders.

For now, the best we can hope for is that they're all banned ASAP.

Store is up. Reset definitely won't happen now. R* is horrible at fixing glitches. Everytime they fixed a dupe glitch in GTA V a new one would come up.

As for people who were able to take full advantage of the glitches, I doubt they will be punished or effected in any way.

Lol glitching money or rank does nothing detrimental to your game. It's not like a mmo with a real trading economy. Theres no world first raids guilds race to.

Someone else glitching a million cash and rank 100 allows them to do the exact thing as someone sending 100 bucks real money. So why is giving rockstar more money a legit reason to you but finding a way to rank fast is taboo to you?

Fact is you dont have the time to play as much as others so youd rather their game is a bare bones as you.

Or does people having access to more clothing options really terrify you lol.

Go reset yourself you care way too much about what others have.

Imo game be better if everything was unlocked at start and the idea of rdo is about playing with friends fun content.

Not playing to grind for aesthetic content only. That's all rdo is now a grind for aesthetics with no content to grind.
