Suction Testicle Man Posted April 8, 2003 Share Posted April 8, 2003 Over the period of a few months, and after searching I find a few topics that say cheats mess up your game and a few topics that say they don't. Both sort say they are certain. Let this be the topic that n00bs can see and realise. Do they or do they not? Do only the ones that cause a warning screen to pop up when you save spoil the game and others that don't are ok? I need the truth godam it! Tell me! illspirit Posted April 9, 2003 Share Posted April 9, 2003 Cheats can ruin your ability of 100%, but it's very unlikely; as in maybe a 1 out of 100000 chance. I had two packages go awol on me once after using a vehicle spawn and weapons cheat, but they reappeared after starting a new game then reloading my save. But yea, given the millions of people who play this game (a good deal of whom surely cheat) compared to the relatively small number of reports about cheat related errors, it's hardly worth mentioning. Anyway, yeah I've used the 3 weapon cheats and the police cheat and the full armour and health cheats. These are the only ones I know that don't cause a warning screen to pop up before you save. They drop your criminal rating with 500 or 1000 points (can't really remember), which I would classify as getting screwed up EDIT: Oh, and in my first 100% savegame, I spawned the two special Hotring Racers, and everytime I drove one, the road had troubles loading (much more than usual). Suction Testicle Man Posted April 9, 2003 Author Share Posted April 9, 2003 Yeah Azazel - that weird road loading in the Hotring Racer is because its the fastest car in the game and you were probably just driving bloody fast before you stopped , so it takes more time to load all your surroundings. Well thats my theory . Anyway, I'm on 99 packages and very pissed off. I have no idea which one I have not got. I don't think I have got the one on the airport helipad, but its already gone. A number of people who have cheated have said this one has disappeared for them. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
