The economy is not broken...!

The economy is not broken, the way people approach spending is broken.

If you don't spend every last dollar & buy every gun & piece of equipment the second it comes available, the money adds up!

What do you need all those repeaters for? I doubt you're switching from the Carbine to the Lancaster, or from shotgun to shotgun, or from the Cattleman to the Double Action...so, why stock up on weapons in the same class?

I vowed to only use the Carbine you start with & the Ultimate Edition bonus weapons. I will buy a Schofield at some point & the Springfield when it unlocks, but aside from that, I'm not paying nearly $400 for the Bolt Action & then nearly $100 on a longer barrel or whatever...and then complain I have no money lol!

As I said, prices & payouts suck, sure, so why go along with it?! I've not been at an advantage or disadvantage using just the Carbine & Volcanic Pistol & neither will you be.

So, I'm maybe Rank 20, have tons of ammo, the basic weapons, a persistent posse, a few camp upgrades & tons of tonics & whatever & still have $500.

Stop spending! It adds up! You don't need every gun & extension! The economy is not broken, it's how it is & you don't have to submit to it!

But, seriously speaking now, if you're any good at the game modes, go play for an hour & rack up that cash & XP...it is damn easy to get money in this game.

Ya. It’s a video game. I don’t wanna create a f*cking budget for a damn game. I have adult responsibilities in the real world, I play games to escape real life and enjoy doing something with friends.

But by all means, I’ll play the game with a f*cking cattleman revolver and sh*t repeater, because I don’t “need” anything other than that in your opinion

Simply dont buy stuff and you wont run out of money! Genius!

Killing 1 heron is worth more then playing like 4 deatmatches, gold sucks. Its not that bad,but all jobs need much higher payouts. And did i mention gold sucks?

Oh yay. Another post telling me I don’t “need” the things I want, and it’s my fault rockstar is monetizing the f*ck out of online.

Ok 👍

😂 That applies to real life as well - you don’t always need the things you want. Funny post 😄

I've not been at an advantage or disadvantage using just the Carbine & I haven't been at a disadvantage using just the Carbine against someone with a Bolt Action or whatever.

You think you need to buy everything, but you don't need to...especially if your main complaint is not having money lol.

They are just trying to make things last people, if everything was cheap than everyone would be running around with the same crap already etc the game would have nothing to chase for. Its like doing that car dupe glitch on gta if you did it you became instantly rich could buy anything you wanted and the game just got boring, some fellas talked me into doing it I let them and it ruined the game for me

The economy is literally only designed so R* can make money. Sure, I don't need to buy everything. But it's a game and people want to accomplish every part of it and own cool stuff. R* knows this so people will spend real money for gold bars.

If R* wasn't looking to profit, the economy would be completely different.

People also seem not to know how to make money. You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day or teach a man to fish and feed him forever

Its just stupid hunting gives you like 10x more money then any mission etc.

Im sure they will change this.

Well these missions anyway. We have like what 8 total story missions or something? Now I know that can't be their complete multiplayer story...or at least I hope not.

I hope we assassinate our own character with a new character that can talk.

Payment for basically everything except hunting sucks.

Yea sure, the economy, payouts, exp rate are all absolutely fine when you completely disregard the progression system and stick with the starter equipment.

Lets just gloss over the fact that many of the guns you can buy are straight up upgrades, crafted ammo will be OP and ability card upgrades are hella expensive. All of those make a huge difference in PvP and while it's not so bad now in the coming weeks and months when people gear up and progress their characters... yea it's gonna be pretty rough rocking the defaults in PvP and also lacking speed/power and just variety when it comes to PvE.

I like crafting. Got a message that I unlocked horse ointment recipe. Not that I NEEDED it, but cool. Go to the fence to buy it. $495!!! FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!

If that's any indication, I'll not buy a single recipe. Utterly ridiculous.

Go ahead and be a shill for a greedy bastard company. The rest of us see right through it.

Firstly, this is just bollocks, plain and simple...

...but if you're going to make a claim that the economy in this game is fine, don't literally contradict yourself, lol.

The payouts are part of said economy. ;)

Forum gold! Oops.

I can understand and support the viewpoint that online games like this are progression based, and too high of payouts/too cheap of items can cause the game to become too easy and boring since you get all the items you want too quickly, it is satisfying to work towards something and feel like you've earned it once you get it, but there is such thing as a middle ground between excessive grinding and excessive convenience, and RDO is not in that middle ground, in some areas it's fine, but in most areas of the game the grinding is so excessive that it's just tedious.

Maybe for you, but I'm loaded there after a good year (zero cheating/duping mind), and I've enjoyed the game more. I can play more what I want rather than what I need or what pays more to shut that damn phone up.

Each their own. Some want to limit themselves or choose a different way. Good luck to each too. It's a game. How about folk like you just worry about what you do. I'll do me.

When videogames change from earning and achieving to paying cash to cut corners, that's what happens. Cheating in games to cut those same corners has been around as long as gaming itself, just now it's monitised as MTX (soon).

To correct you, it adds up to the boring experience you're gonna have.

The economy right now is like limiting your options of food because in the end, you're gonna eat "food" so why bother yourself to try something else ?

What happened to variety ? Also your point is that there are things that we won't use even after we purchase them ?

How do you know that ? I might switch my weapons for a little fun experience, like challenging yourself to kill players with a sh*tty weapon ?

I'd seriously like to know, why did NBA 2K19's overpriced economy make it's way to RDRO?

Ahhh, Take Two Interactive publishes both, that's why.

Out of all the complaints I have made about the game, the in game economy is not an issue for me.

I have just finished the story missions and so far I have been able to recustomize my character to my liking with a new haircut and beard that were not avaiable in the creation menu. I also bought myself the new clothes I wanted.

I own one of the deadliest weapon of the game and it's not even that pricey. I could buy myself a nice horse but I just don't see point. See I have still plenty of money left on me and I don't even know what to spend it on! And it's great that way!

But to me personally, it all goes down to what is your optic in playing this game. I enjoy the survival aspect of RDO. I don't spend alot of money because I can take care of my basic needs by myself. Hunting, fishing... etc... The cost of ammo and daily life is all covered by a few minutes of work.

Once again, as I previously mentioned on many occasions already, this is the Wild West, not the land of capitalism and over consumption.

To get perfect pelts on a lot of animals you need a rifle. Plus bears seem to eat repeater bullets for breakfast.

Not everyone plays, or buys weapons solely for, PvP.

And, to add, belt buckles. Some like to complete challenges, and we'll needs the right shooter for that too.

So much variety and freedom in these games
