Combined radios and IV-exclusive stations in EFLC

So after seeing Jinx's thread on adding EFLC radios to IV, I tried adding IV radios to EFLC, and managed to accomplish more than I wanted to.

This not only adds the IV exclusive stations to EFLC, it also combines the IV stations with the EFLC ones so you can also listen to Mr. Cee's mix on The Beat for example

Known bugs:

Radio names are broken in the Audio menu (I'll probably release some gxt files to fix this soon)

Screenshots:

   Reveal hidden contents

Here's (probably) how I did it (back up your game because I'm not exactly sure that this is what I did):

1 - Download the No Patch version of the EFLC radios in IV mod:

2 - Delete both radio_hud_colored and radio_hud_noncolored from both episodes' pc/textures folder

3 - Delete these lines from both episodes' content.dat:
DISABLE_FILE common:/data/radiohud.dat
RADIO common/data/radiohud.dat

4 - Install the No Patch EFLC radios in IV mod onto EFLC.

5 - Copy all radio rpfs from IV's pc/audio into EFLC's pc/audio, replace every rpf that's larger in IV than EFLC

6 - Put this gxt file into the main common/text to fix the radio names in pause menu: https://mega.nz/#!eRxCDAqS!8kmwLUJooWUFG_N9qKRxJ-xdguykV8rDe8Q8e0yZdoQ

It is also possible to have only one (or none) of the episodes' songs by removing these lines from the setup2.xml of the episode you don't want the songs from:

TBOGT:
    <content>
        <name>The Ballad of Gay Tony</name>
        <id>3</id>
        <audiometadata>e2_radio.xml</audiometadata>
        <enabled />
    </content>

TLAD:
    <content>
        <name>The Lost and Damned Radio</name>
        <id>1</id>
        <audiometadata>e1_radio.xml</audiometadata>
        <enabled />
    </content>

I'm gonna link this in my OP in a few moments. This is too important to miss. Great job! :)

I suppose there is still no solution as of yet on how to add EFLC's exclusive radio stations with the DLC versions of TLaD and TBoGT?

Great work nonetheless! Another step towards a true complete edition of IV/EFLC.

You could try doing this on the DLC versions, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work (especially because the episodic radiohud dat and textures need to be removed for this to work either way)

Alright so I tried a few things and it works!

So for those who like me play DLC versions of TLaD and TBoGT, basically what you need to do is:

-Install the No patch version in GTA IV's folder.

-Replace radiohud.dat with the one from the No patch version in the common/data folder of both DLCs (no need to add/replace the rest with the other files from the No patch version).

-Delete these lines from both episodes' content.dat:

DISABLE_FILE common:/data/radiohud.dat
RADIO common/data/radiohud.dat

-Replace the american.gxt file in GTA IV/common/text with the one Zolika1351 posted.

-Done!

A few things to note though, I used ZIT! and it seems that only the DLCs can identify the titles of the new radios which was already the case with the new mix when playing IV. ZIT! cannot identify the DLCs' songs when they are heard in IV, no big deal though.

Also VCFM and Self Actualization have DJs but they only speak before or after a song is played.

I don't know from which folder the radio icons are loaded when playing the DLCs, by that I mean wether each DLC is loading GTA IV's new icons from IV's folder or each DLC's icons from their own folder. If it's the latter then I guess it's possible to use TLaD's specific gritty icons for RamJam FM/Self Actualization/VCFM which should be present in EFLC's files and make a new radio_hud_noncolored file including every radio icon from IV and those from EFLC. That way TLaD can have its own icons instead of using the clean ones that IV and TBoGT use. Unfortunately I cannot open the .wtd files from both EFLC and the DLCs' folders with OpenIV, I guess they are protected or something. I don't know how to fix that. Also TLaD's menu shows gritty radio icons.

I think the DJ lines are stored in another file. Not sure how to restore them yet. I think it was a speech file? 🤔

I looked at VCFM and Self Actualization with OpenIV and their lines seem to be stored in their own .rpf, as they should be. There are 4 sound banks in radio_vcfm (GENERAL, INTRO, TIME, TO) and they contain all the lines that Fernando says at the beginning of a song or before the end of one. The same goes for Self Actualization FM, but there are only 3 sound banks (GENERAL, INTRO, TIME) containing Audrey's lines.

Hey, can you tell me, which lines do I need to edit, to change this on my own? I have my local translation and I still want to use it. With your file I'd have mixed languages in game :D

I did. You need to open content.dat in the TLAD DLC folder, and make sure the lines "DISABLE_FILE common:/data/radiohud.dat" & "RADIO common/data/radiohud.dat" exist.

This is what I have in my file:

DISABLE_FILE common:/data/radiohud.dat
#DISABLE_FILE common:/data/radiologo.dat
RADIO common/data/radiohud.dat
#RADIOLOGOS common/data/radiologo.dat

Then place/replace this file in DLC/TLAD/Content/pc/textures:

I forgot that you also need to add a radiohud.dat that points to the gritty wtd in DLC/TLAD/content/common/data.

Here's mine:

Also, here's my content.dat, just in case:

You also need to add the logos into TLAD's radio_hud_colored and radio_hud_noncolored.

Thank you! Now it's like it supposed to be. Almost :P

I'm wondering, which lines do I need to change in american.gxt to have radio names in settings? I can't use @Zolika1351 file, since I use my local translation of the game. Anyone have an idea?

This mod required my EFLC Radio mod, which is deprecated. It was replaced by Tomasak's CE downgrader which includes everything that was missing from the old mod and doesn't crash, and brings all cut songs back in along with certain new songs from Vladivostok which are mostly period fitting.

But is not useful for people who have a retail version of the game.

You can redeem the code on RGL. The files don't get reversed when you check the right options unless you don't play for a very long time.

I'm not reuploading the mod and I don't want to see anyone else reupload it or modify it either.

As you wish lol. Wouldn't hurt you if you would leave it as it was, but whatever.

The mod was already talked about on OP's own server, being called "low effort" because I refused to support the pre-CE patch haven of multiplayer hacks on vanilla MP and GTA Connected, despite the fact that this thread exists, so as far as I'm concerned it does hurt me. You can't even play the game normally as Securom is down and no one uses GFWL keys from the game, as they expire after a number of uses, not to mention that IV migrated to RGL, so instead keys for Flatout and Kane and Lynch are used, clearly not from this exact game. The only reason older patches are used is because the only coders in the community are inactive and didn't make their mods open source, so these guys hijacked it with the purpose of making multiplayer a worse place than GTA Online. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Is it just me or is VCFM missing Fernando? It seems to only play music and commercials, no DJ.

Edit: I'm also noticing audio bugs on my playthrough of TLAD.
-The Assault Shotgun's audio is missing.

-The Pause Menu music is the GTA IV music.

-The mission complete music is from TBOGT.

-The end credits played the music from IV's credits.

@nkjellman Considering this mod kinda... doesn't exist anymore I don't think those issues are gonna be fixed anytime soon. I recommend downloading the latest patch, downgrading the radio stations the normal way, then downgrading the game to whatever patch you want. Works flawlessly, and definitely way better than this thing ever did.

Yeah, at the time the mod was released there were no tools to tweak the speech data, which had the DJ lines. IIRC I did mention on other threads that this was one of the reasons I hid the mod. So yeah, get the downgrader, it's much better.

I tried that and unfortunately did not get the EFLC radio stations.

Not to mention that there are missing songs. Or do you just need the RPFs to make the missing tracks work?

What do you mean? Like I said, you have to use the radio downgrader FIRST, BEFORE you downgrade the game. That way, you have the RPFs with all the songs, and THEN you downgrade the game to patch 7 or whatever.

Since you're using the updated radio data files from the complete edition, it should work fine as long as you don't touch any files radio related when you downgrade. Works fine for me anyways, I'm on patch 7 with all uncut radio stations, DJ lines and all.

Oh yeah, and you might need ZolikaPatch as that fixes some issues with having EFLC radio stations in the base game on older patches.

Disregard that. I didn't even know that the Various Radio Downgraders topic had a radio downgrader. I never went in there since I have all the old patch files.

It works on my Complete Edition copy, now to move it to my Patch 7 copy. lol

Edit: The files from the downgrade work on my patch 7 copy. However it's got two problems.
1. The icons are not showing in the pause menu as well as ingame. I copied the updated radiohud and icon wtds over from both IV, TLAD, and TBOGT. Should I switch back to the textures from this mod where they're merged and aren't in a separate wtd?

2. The DJ's don't seem to be working on the EFLC stations like VCFM. Perhaps it just never came up when I played?
