Does Anyone Else Want A Second Character???

In RDR1’s Online Outfitter, we had the ability to choose a different character for what ever role we wanted to play. Options included...

- Lawmen.

- Native American.

- US Marshal.

- Army.

- Rustler.

The list goes on and on.

Now, we are restricted to a single created character. I created a Native American character (currently rank 17), but if I ever want to play another role other then an Native American, I would need to delete my character. Id lose all progression and start back at rank 1. (boooo lol). I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but I would really appreciate the option to create a second character like in GTA Online. Anyone else?

Well yeah, but I would like to see it as an actual addition to the game. Hear me out:

You can have two characters (or more), but only play with one at the same time. Your other character(s) are at camp, doing chores and protecting stuff.

Here you can give the character(s) a job. For example hunting, gatherer, munition maker, seller etc. Each hour they'll add a few things to the delivery box (pelts, plants, munition, money). You can switch characters at the camp as well...

That's what I think would be cool and create a living camp.

I would love to keep rank and everything else, or get the option to buy weapons, clothing etc. Multiple times.

That would be really taking additional characters to the next level. Instead of simply having a second character to swap to and from, additional characters would actually be apart of our world at all times. I like it👍

I'm not that interested in a second character. My second character on GTA is a bit pointless. If they made it so each type of character had different abilities then it might be fun for a while but I'd prefer them to spend the time fixing other things.

Not a bad idea at all, really like the idea of a second character sitting at camp but I would be wary of having too many daily quest style things in the game as they can really bog down the pick up and play experience IMO.

Great idea. Also would be interesting to make your other character follow you around.

I just want a chance to edit my rank 140 character, what with the new character edit options.

This is what I want as well; not that I personally intend on changing much or doing anything drastic, but I'd like to at least have the option (as it exists in GTAO) where I can make adjustments here and there; even if it costs money or gold to use the feature.

This is actually a great idea; I'd love to see something like this implemented!

As for having just another character who exists separately like in GTAO, I can take it or leave it; I'd probably not go through the trouble of levelling up another character at this point, but perhaps years down the road if I get bored and want a challenge. Still, it should exist as an option for those who want it.

I'd love to have a 2nd character rather then switching accounts. I wish they would do it like they did with GTAO, if your 1st character reached a certain level (in GTAO's case, it was 120 and beyond) you could have your 2nd character being the same level or like 50 or 100 and be able to choose your horse maybe?

Also the option to edit your character once

I want to create a classic cowboy outlaw character, but so don’t want to erase my leveled up Native American character. I really do appreciate the character creation feature that Rockstar added to RDR2, but until hey add a second character, RDR1’s outfitter design did give up more options and flexibility over the roles we wanted to play. RDR1 even had fat characters, boney characters, fat and short characters.

I’d also appreciate more Native American themed content like traditional native clothing, tipi/teepee & wigwam tent options for camps, Native American horse customizations like feathers and warpaint decorations on our horses. Even more Native American hairstyles like Mohawks, headdresses, etc.

The Dedito Gae

Just created a second character on an alt, plan to play more with him but truth be told, i would prefer if i had a second slot available for convenience sake.

As I have on GTAO, yes I would like to have both a male and female character at least. And like someone said before, at least let us edit our already made characters. Not sure if some were deliberately made to look that way, but there sure are some freaks of nature looking dudes out there.

Does Rockstar still have that feedback website up for Red Dead Online? If so, maybe we can reach out to them through it? The more voices we get asking for a second character option and/or the ability to edit existing characters, the better the chances will be that we’d actually get it.

It looks like Rockstar is adding the ability to edit our existing character once for free, with each additional edit costing money.

This isn’t what we were discussing, but it’s the closest thing to playing as a different character that we will probably get. I HOPE that we will at least beable to save a couple different appearances so that we can switch back and forth to and from. I’d like to play multiple ethnicities without losing previous builds. It’s unfortunate though that this method is going to cost us money.

Personally, just the one is enough for me. I tried it in GTA:O and just didn't get much from it. But I'm all for a second character spot for those keen, a character editor is a must too.

while 2 would be great, a max of 5 would please everyone. and like ivaarblauw said, 1 active, the rest stays at camp, you go to camp to select another one( maybe a pause menu)

A second character would be nice, one thats good karma and one that is bad so you can experience all the missions instead of having to constantly flip flop back and forth between good and bad honor. Course I doubt they will do that cause that throws a wrench into their plans of trying to charge gold to swap honor from one to the other.

BUT THE BENZ

^ I will have to that, trade gold for dishonor...since feeding my nag makes up for slaughters and sh*t and makes me still be the good guy in the end

As with GTAO, I'd probably make a second character to "experience low level gameplay again" then be reminded that this is less fun and not touch them again for months and months. Still, no opposition to the option being there. Give us a dozen character slots for all I care, I've always been a one toon kinda guy.

Did that once in GTA Online, got sick and tired of the phone spam and deleted the character right away..

I want a second character just so I can make a female character like on GTA.

I'd really don't want to start a new character from scratch, to be honest. I might make use of an option to switch a character's appearance, but appearance only in, for example. the player menu. I've had many alts in other games, though. But that was all because of different classes and specs. In this game, that is not even an option, so I have absolutely no urge to play as a different character as I am doing now. I most certainly have no desire to play a female character at all.

My main character is set up and has everything she needs, get bored playing with her because i have nothing to do.

Created an alt and im playing with a dude now, bought different items and clothes to have a different style to my main one, its fun grinding for stuff, gives me something to do. Only downside is that i have to change account and add again the few friends that play RDO, would be much more convenient to just have a second slot.
