GlitterCorn69
Idk if it's just me or what but has anyone come to find that it rains a bit too much and that it seems to stop and come back only a minute later. I've taken note of it before the new patch and after the patch. Is this a glitch or what? Cause I'm starting to find it real anoying.
XAIKON
Seems to depend on location for me. Roanoke ridge is just permanently raining for me.... Sometimes I arrive in the area when it's lovely and sunny, but within seconds the downpour will start.... sometimes even before the murky clouds appear! Fort Riggs is also perma-raining for me too. I find it hard to fathom the amount of effort that went into creating a completely realistic environment, until you look up. That sky.... my god, the weather.... the contrast in quality is huge, which is so surprising since there was nothing wrong about the weather system and the sky in both GTAV and RDR1. How the hell did they go backwards?! How did the testers and developers just say 'yep. good enough' Penicuikscotland2010 and Ayesha

Can go days without overcast. When it rains it disappears as quick as a sneeze and i am not too happy about that.RDR1 really nailed it. I loved the week long heatwaves and the big thunderstorm that would come after. It felt so well done. Harmonica
Some of this might be scripted. There's a stranger mission north of Roanoke ridge, for example, that causes a lot of rain as you approach it. Ironside

I rode all over north of Strawberry/ Big Valley, camped and slept overnight, rode into Valentine, caught the Stage over to Annesburg, still raining. Camped and slept overnight, Rode to St. Denis and it eventually stopped whenever I went toward Rhodes from St. Denis. I had another instance where it started snowing in Annesburg and didn't stop for 2-3 days riding from there toward Wapiti Honestly, as I'm describing it, it kind of sounds like the weather system was glitching lol Edited November 30, 2018 by SeniorDerp Penicuikscotland2010

Jason
I've had torrential rain that's lasted for multiple in-game days too. The temperature plummets around the world to like 3c, even down south. Penicuikscotland2010

I took a Stage to Annesburg, when I got out it was snowing, temp thing said 22deg. I rode up to camp, still snowing, did a mission with Sadie where you traveled and I think camped overnight? Snowed the whole time. I can't remember if it would build up on anything but my core would drain so I had on a coat. It was funny because I had to put on a cold weather outfit and everyone else was normally dressed haha Edit: this was actually taken before I did that mission because i thought it was comical needing to be dressed in warm clothes and I guess you can see the snow build up on Arthur.. Had to have been a glitch? Edited November 30, 2018 by SeniorDerp

BigChungus405
For me it’s always raining up by Dover hill and Willard s rest but I’m attributing it to the fact I haven’t complete the marko mission
Middle Class Roadman
Yeah I made a few posts about this before. I feel it rains way too much in Lemoyne and New Austin. When I'm in those regions I wanna see nothing but blue skies and sunshine. I was saying how there should be an option to control the rain.

Calrid123
If you are in the Bayou then constant rain should be common place, because that's what happens in marshes, massive upwellings of groundwater tend to do that, if you're in Tumbleweed probably not. As someone else said weather works like that, try living in the UK, we talk about it constantly. Caesar described Britain as raw foggy and dull, and hated it so much he only stayed for a short while. We have the Gulf stream though which brings all the wet air from around Mexico and Florida right to our doorstep with a regularity that is annoying, :) "I was saying how there should be an option to control the rain. Penicuikscotland2010
I'm going to be honest. I still don't like this "dynamic" thing rockstar decided to do with the weather. Everything just changes too quick. I would still rather they made evenings and nights longer though. Which probably will never happen. Doesn't mean it isn't the best game ever made though ;). It's just minor details. But it would still make it feel even better. I absolutely loved the time I was in tall trees at like 7pm setting up a campfire and i'm not kidding. The entire forest was this gorgeous purple and very quiet. Amazing is a huge understatement. It was one of those mind blowing moments. Cutter De Blanc
I have to remind myself that a few minutes in real life is a couple of hours in-game, and when I look at it that way the length of the storms usually seems alright. Although when I run inside to get out of a storm that just started, and then it becomes bright and sunny as soon as I get inside, that sh*t is stupid Ironside and Penicuikscotland2010

Rockstar have merely programmed weather that behaves like weather irl. If you don't like it of course that is fine, but you are denying reality, which is of course your choice. Honestly I thought it was only the British who constantly moaned about weather. Edited December 17, 2019 by Calrid123 Jutland

GinsengElixir
Weather system is fine - I've had a storm which lasted almost an in game day, and one that went through the night. I never gallop anywhere, just meander like a real person. It just feels quick sometimes because the day/night cycle is quick. Ironside
Uncle Sikee Atric
It's time for someone to stop with the insulting posts, and time for everyone else to have a chill out as well. I know one of you has already been warned for your behavior and insults, if it continues further action will be taken, which will mean time on the naughty step, or a permanent vacation to Banhammer Island. Jabalous
My only nitpick about the weather is that it gets rainy and foggy in New Austin as often as it does in, say, New Hanover. I'd naturally expect to see much less rainy, more sunny and clear-sky days in the hot deserts of New Austin, but it's not the case. Overall, while the weather effects visually and behaviorally are the most advanced and realistic I've witnessed in a computer game, there's still a long road ahead to make even more realistic weather systems, which hopefully the next-gen consoles hardware will be able to bring. I'd like to see a leap in the Grand Theft Auto 6 weather system over Red Dead Redemption II's. The latter has finally implemented localized weather systems to a good extent, such the fog volumes, but rain and cloud storms have yet to be made localized. Even snow still follows the player and camera and it's why you can get a snowy sky in Valentine when you descend from the mountains of Grizzlies West fast before the engine makes a transition. Weather needs to be developed to act as an independent variable that has nothing to do with where the players is currently at, or the direction that the camera is pointing at. Caffeination
Hmm... ancient topic. Anyway, the area past Van Horn and all of Annesburg always drop from 20-something to -2 celsius whenever the rain triggers. And the rain itself looks unnatural too, pouring straight down with no influence from the wind, which makes it look like a filter. The rain’s a buggy feature in this game, and Rockstar has set it to be too common, especially in Online. UpTheDowngrade
