Last thing he said to me was not to come back for a while looking for posters. I couldn't take his mouth, so I killed him. Was there any story past those bounties, any missions? It is possible I missed them there during my time, as I mostly hunted around that area and was obsessed with getting camp fully set up. But I had 5/5 bounties done before I got those.
