Does one need XBLive or whatever Playstation uses to acess online RDR?

I've got both an Xbone and PS4Pro.   Been playing on the Xbox as the PS4 is a bew toy given by the Wifey a couple days ago.

 

To access RDR2 Online does one have to sign up for a paid service on one or both?

 

Xbone seems to be bad about trying to suck money from you but not sure about the PS4.

Yes, you need a subscription on both Xbox and Playstation to play online.

Xbox live is free with Microsoft rewards and gives you 4 games a month every month. For $60/year (or free with Microsoft rewards ), is really not a bad deal at all.
