I've heard its also way harder to 'take the easy way out'. You have to open couple windows and hold a button. And while you do that you also move slower then normally.

at least they learned something from gtaonline

You can still blow yourself up pretty easily if you have explosives.

But at least now explosives are hard to come by(for now).

Missing K/D? That's a feature not a bug.

I prefer to call it D/K, or dick. It changes the math, so that greifers, those with the most kills, have a small D/K.

If Rockstar have truly removed the k/d ratio then it's a good move.

One of the first things you see when checking out a player in GTA online is their rank and k/d ratio, and that's why it's so important to so many of these players, as it defines and establishes them as 'better' players than the rest.

it also means that kdr-conscious players avoid certain game modes, and play in a certain underhand way to not affect their k/d ratio, and will back out of battles, go passive, EWO, teleport to heists, etc., instead of having a blast and enjoying the battle. Why would a griefer participate in a shoot-out or stand-off when they know it could turn ugly for them? Answer; they won't. Taking away kdr should mean that players get involved in more organic styles of play, and will take more risks, be less try-hard, and have more fun.

Will removing the k/d ratio get rid of griefing posses, with no other objective than to go 'red' blip and dominate the map? No way, as this is appears to be an essential part of RDR2 online, but it will definitely mean that these types of players will get bored more quickly and move on once they've established their dominance.

As of this moment I have one PvP kill and zero PvP deaths. I was dragged to death by lasso once but I count this as PvE since it was really ongoing high speed contact with the environment which did me in.

I used to care about the GTAV K/D because I thought it would help my chances of being recruited by a Deathmatch crew, but I stopped giving a F about K/D once they provided bullet-proof helmets so people that didn't want to put the time to become better at combat and needed an extra 2-seconds to aim properly, could keep us sharp-shooters exposed longer so they could get kills. Being a legit player, there was no need for me to care about K/D after that since I was being forced to die. Biggest joke to happen to experienced combat players in LS.

Yeah, we just gotta be patient and let things cool down I think. I hope this proves true. :)

This is one of those issues where I don't prefer one way or the other. I cared about my K/D somewhat in GTAO in the sense that if I got into a fight I wanted to come out ahead, I liked seeing it go up but I didn't obsess over it or try to pad it. On the other hand, now that isn't here, I'm not really looking for it. I'll have a sense of where I'm at overall in my head and don't care that it isn't visible for all to see.

but you can't control when they blow up like c4 right?

Either way it was always hilarious for me. Wheres the logic in that? "I was losing so I had to kill myself that means I... won?... somehow?"

I don't want to know where it is, and I hope you can't even find it anywhere, because it is a cancerous statistic that everyone should be encouraged not to be concerned about.

Spoken like a true k/d-whore. “I was killed by another player but it doesn’t count because [insert excuse]”. In other cases it’s contact with a speeding bullet so those don’t count either because it’s not really the other player?

ot:  i’m glad there’s no k/d because somehow there will be found a way to farm kills without the risk of dying yourself.

Exactly! Only melee kills count. And if you get run over by another player, their horse gets the credit.

What if you get knocked into a wall and die?  Who gets the credit: player, wall or divided between player and wall?

Wait. If there's no KD, how will the tryhards be able to masturbate/validate their very existence?

It don't even matter. Especially in Autoaim where you can lock onto people asap.

One good thing I've noticed so far is people aren't trigger happy all the time atm, but it may be due to them wanting to progress first before PvPing.

From what Im hearing from the community today is that people are killing one another just like in GTAO...so i guess not having K/D isn't making people more civilized.

I've been killed once so far.  Was minding my own business, just coming out of a cut scene, when I got shot by some child who was camping the mission trigger area on top of a building.  He had nothing to show for it considering his kill on an unarmed and unaware player does not reward you with anything, and when I respawned, I just rode off on my way to the objective, completely ignoring the troll.

Even though you're still gonna get prepubescents getting completely skill-less kills on other players, I reckon the amount of griefing will be less now that there is no KD, thank christ.

Not yet, but it's new and the kids like new.

Hopefully soon things grow up.

i'll admit to being a bit k/d happy in GTAO but the tryhards brought it out of me. I didn't notice it was gone until this thread popped up, don't really miss it tbh I'm playing free-aim out of pure masochism so I'm expecting to die, a lot..

Hmmm.... I think you yourself should get the credit for being smart enough to hide around a wall. The cheaters who maneuver around it have no sportsmanship and deserve no points for turning it against you.

Damn! Is anyone else disappointed a certain Tom Cruise scientologist didn't live up in this thread?

Aww man. I was expecting a party or a hallelujah or something, lol.

I was just about to go buy this. But after seeing this, my mind has changed.

I'll just go buy a new GTA account.

It’s way more peaceful than gta. Yes there are no lifers who get off on f*cking with people but it’s super easy to ignore them. I’ve been around many players and not had a problem.
