Question about gold-only items

Right now, I see that the Black Arabian horse can only be bought with gold. Considering this is the best horse in the game at the moment, this is really disappointing for me. However, I also see it is locked behind a level barrier. Do you guys know if we will be able to buy the Black Arabian with cash after we reach the level requirement?

Gold is used to buy items "BEFORE" you reach that level or as a alternate currency. So it won't always be you have to pay with gold, only if you want the item before you reach level. Be aware it's only for certain things though.

Not entirely true. There are some bandanas and a vest that are GOLD ONLY.

I even scrolled over them and the shop keep said "only taking gold for that"

From what I know items without a $ price are gold bars only, so there are certain horse coats that are gold bar exclusive. You can buy at least one of each breed with cash though.

 

Also the gold bar price for items you can purchase with cash is GREATLY increased if you haven't unlocked the item to purchase with cash.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't bought into the Arabian hype.

 

It's becoming very annoying every time I see some say something is the best in this game. Everything has pros and cons. The Arabian is fast and agile but that does not make it the best horse. It spooks easy, and it can't absorb damage. In a multiplayer setting where people are shooting everything that moves, a horse with less HP is a liability.

Aye, the Arabian is by no means the outright best horse. The free Arabian you get on PS4 drives me up the bloody wall with how scared it is, it's high stamina is the only reason I'm using it for now.

 

War horses are much better suited to online IMO, I'm tempted to buy a Hungarian Half-Bred when I unlock the level for it while waiting for the Turkoman.

I'm working on getting the hungarian too. It must be perfect for pvp
