Features You Wanted

What features were you hoping for? Feel free to share features you wish Red Dead Online had.

I wish we we could pull off robberies in free roam. Any time of robbery would have been fine. We can’t rob individual NPCs. We can’t rob stores/shops. We can’t rob banks or trains.

There is no wanted system/bounty system in effect at all . We had a bounty system in RDR1’s free roam. There is nothing here that I noticed. I killed some NPCs in Valentine hoping to accumulate a bounty and live as wanted outlaws with some friends, but as soon as we evaded the initial engagement, the entire world forgot what we did. No bounty hunters or lawmen posses came after us. There was nothing. Feels cheap compared to RDR1’s multiplayer in terms of a bounty system.

Deathmatches like they were in RDR1: Grab the bag, Hold your own, Shootouts. 2 teams competing, simple as that.

or at least a mode where I don’t get masscured by children.

this.

it seems they did the typical rockstar fix again.

instead of reworking the feature they just did the easy thing and removed it.

thank you rockstar for punishing the people that used it in a good and peacefull way.

I find it stupid that I'm asking for basics as features, but here I go, I want lobby options, solo/inviteonly/public, I want aim reference lobbies as well.

A way to enjoy gaming fat away from c*nts. Really chipping away at me and I've had to stop. So frustrating now.

GTA it is until a patch comes so we know the direction for sure.

Hatin Since 87

I know it was a far fetched dream, but I was hoping they’d stand out as focusing on a more casual gaming community for the west setting. No shark cards, no radar blips, and more coop play.

I know. Silly.

I also want an option to show my character name instead of my psn ID. Other mmos have this feature so why not? Otherwise there's no point to naming the character in the first place.

Yes, this no bounty system thing in online is really annoying.  I wanted it in, and to be just as strict as single player, to deter people from mindlessly killing all the time.  There needs to be consequences to criminal actions.  I fear though that R* are adopting the same tactic in GTAO where crime is allowed to go on un-challenged.

I left feedback here asking for them to implement it, and I suggest others do the same:  https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback

Random encounters

robbing NPC's,stage coaches, shops and trains.

Passive mode.

A better economy.

I understand some of this stuff may be added in the future but that's why we need to give feedback to R* now

SALO or The 120 Days Of Sodom

either friendly lobbies or get rid of player blips on the map.. but definitely, DEFINITELY, stop encouraging other players to hijack our stranger missions.. like how much of a waste of time is it for me to spend 15min on a mission that pays $1.85 only to have people come and hijack it? what sense does that make? anybody can activate their own stranger missions but yet you have them come and interrupt others?

For crafting rare clothing items, accessories and saddles.

So long as we can just buy the stuff; I'm not hunting for hours just to pay an arm and a leg for a fox hat

Also.... Liars Dice. That still stands! If we don't get that in a Mexico DLC I will never let that go. f*ck five finger and blackjack -_-

Liars Dice and Poker are simple and made for people like me to understand

We need all of this, the announcer back and showdowns at the beginning of matches. "You won the showdown!" You can't win em all!" "Rebeldes!" "Miners!" "Walton's Gang!"

There is a way. It's called Single Player. That's literally the only way to play the game without being bothered by c*nts.

Another thing that the online game could use is professions or classes. Not everyone wants to be an outlaw. Professions could provide unique opportunities to make money not available to others, and could confer unique skills or bonuses. Bounty hunter could be one such profession, if they implemented a bounty system to curb griefing. Lawman or deputy sheriff could be another profession, attached to a particular town. Federal marshal yet another. We could have ranches players can own if they're wealthy enough, and these could employ other players for security on cattle drives. The list could go on and on, the potential there could be exciting. Better than the nonsensical, unproductive global war it currently is.

The more I think about it, the more I reckon my one-size-fits-all answer would be "everything from single-player to work the same as it does in single-player!".

Camps? Make them fixed safehouse-style places, like in the story - the only difference being they're social places for you to hang out with friends, rather than having Dutch and the gang there in the story.

Hairdos? Have customisable hairstyles with granular styling options, not just NPC hair assets taken from folks like Sadie, Tilly, etc. and plonked unaltered on our Online characters.

Same with being able to capture and stable any wild horse, same with weapon availability and pricing, same with having full functionality when it comes to minigames and other neat interactions (like eating meals in restaurants, or getting a bath).

Literally just a story-free version of single-player's world and mechanics, with custom player characters, simple repeatable activities (think GTAO's original contact missions - nice, simple things which allow for all manner of gameplay approaches), and the option to play with friends/crew/in public with randos. That would have been perfect, IMO - and I'm using the feedback form as much as possible, in order to try and nudge R* into making this current form of RDO into something closer to that (or else just give up and walk away entirely).

I really wanted a fully fledged camp feature with your posse like it is single player. As the camp posse we can put funds down to help grow the camp bigger, socialize and play poker or five fingers fillet.  I want the experience to feel like I am really part of a gang. The posse that I have been rolling with has done a good job to try to emulate that, but we fully can't do it.

True, but I want to see this game grow and offer more. GTA cleaned up because it was a flexible game that appealed to all. If I (or worse, all more passive players) stick to story, R* have far less chsnce to sell gold, less profit, grumpy shareholders.

Unless they want a smaller playerbase of course, I dunno.

I'm probably going to repeat some of your features but here is the features i wanted :

Bounty system to return - It helped to give freemode some purpose. You could hold up in a stronghold (El Presidio in RDR1 was a great example of a spot to chill in with a bounty and Wreck of the Serednidipty) and kill of lawmen and your main goal was to rack up a bounty. Then you would eventually attract players hoping to claim the bounty and it led to interesting scenarios. Some would try to snipe, some would try to run up on you with a high power pistol or mauser, some try to blow you up with Dynamite... Etc.....

Gambling - Poker and Liars Dice would have been brilliant in online. Of course i wasn't expecting Liars dice when i played the game since it wasn't in RDR2 but no poker? come on. The saloons could have been given more purpose by having the gambling minigames and such available to play.

Annoucer - He helped to make the game feel alive in a way.

Mexican Standoffs - Really, why is this not a thing already? It was the most iconic part to me in the first Red Dead.

PvE mode - I'm very against Passive mode due to the griefing opportunities it has and also how it affects the immersion. Having this mode would cater to those who don't want to fight other players.

FreeMode Events - I was expecting maybe events like having a train with valuable cargo travel from one state to another (e.g. Valentine to Saint Denis) and you could rob it potentially but it would  be well guarded and stuff like that. But there is nothing like that. (The current events seem like challenges in a set area which doesn't have the same appeal.

Mexcian standoff and announcer are a must in this game. Like you said, helped to make the game feel alive.
