We Are Ninja
While perusing various stores, I noticed that certain items can only be purchased with gold bars. Most items have $ amounts AND gold bar amounts, but some only have gold bar amounts, and can't be purchased with cash. There also appears to be an option to unlock level-locked items with gold bars if you're the impatient type. I haven't figured out how to earn them, but I have .33 gold bars. There's a Store option in the Pause menu, and I reckon that you'll be able to buy them there, much like the Shark cards in GTA... I imagine that a lot of high-end guns and fancy horses will be purchased with gold bars considering how prohibitively expensive some of the items are... MusicMan05
They're worse than Shark Cards... Shark Cards = Time Saver Pack Gold Bars = Premium Currency You can earn Gold Nuggets and every 100 Gold Nuggets will get you 1 Gold Bar. However, you get 1, maybe 2 Gold Nuggets, per Mission. Unless things change, by my estimates it'll take 10-15+ hours to earn 1 Gold Bar from playing Missions... It's 5 Gold Bars just to insure one horse, so 100+ hours of grinding to insure 1 horse!... Currently GTA: Online >>>>> Red Dead Online.
Hmmm nice bike
Holy sh*t, so I spent 6 months sarcastically referring to a Shark Card successor for RDR Online as "Gold Bars," and they actually go ahead and implement just that? I guess I'm not too surprised, this is the modern day Rockstar we're talking about. tonko, Lock n' Stock, saintsrow and 1 other
Doublepulse
f*ck lol better get grinding then .. In all seriousness.. I’m not really surprised just a bit bummed out and little disappointed by this. Ive always had a strong negative impression on micro transactions as the next person but I gave Rockstar a little bit of slack because of how much content they pack into their games. Never the less I will not be buying them if I can avoid it. We Are Ninja

At least they gave us a great SP
The Queenslayer
I predicted outrageous micro-transactions months ago. R* were on to a good thing with Shark Cards....if you were stupid enough to buy one...so they're continuing on that path. Not me though, R*, you won't get me. So when I want to consort with a gold bar hooker, the game is going to send me to the Playstation store to buy some gold bars? Deja vu to GTA Online...
